Not only Russians come here, but also guests from distant foreign countries.

The resort has a whole network of lifts ranging from 200 to 600 meters in length - chairlifts, pendulum, gondola and rope tows. The ski area is located at an altitude of 1600-3200 meters, the total length of the resort's ski slopes with various levels of difficulty is more than 20 km, the elevation difference is about 500 meters. The highest point of descent is Mount Mussa-Achitara with a height of 3002 m.

The slopes have 3 levels of difficulty, but on local maps the tracks are not marked, but only highlight ski areas - easy (green), medium (blue) and difficult level (red). For children and beginners there are special trails called “paddling pools”.

There are several routes for freeriders; they start at the top station of the 5th stage of the chairlift. The main part of these routes passes on the northern slope of Mount Mussa-Achitara with subsequent access to the Teberda-Dombay highway or to the Gonachkhir gorge. A ski pass for 1 full day costs 1,400 rubles.

The season in Dombay lasts from December to March. Dombay has a mild and warm climate. The average temperature in winter does not fall below −5 degrees, sometimes even rising to + 10 or +15.

A large skiing region, ski slopes and lifts are concentrated on the slopes of two mountains - Elbrus and Cheget. Elevation difference up to 2000 meters, total length of trails 35 km, natural snow, long “season”.

Cheget (3,700 m)

The elevation difference on Cheget is 1,000 m. Cable and chair lifts. The slopes of Cheget are steep. Ski areas are medium to difficult.

The famous Cheget hillocks are the best way to test how well you can ski. For snowboarders, the slopes on the south side are recommended - wide and steep fields; on the north, the slopes are more suitable for extreme sports enthusiasts and freeriders. However, it is not recommended to travel to dangerous areas without minimal avalanche equipment.

Elbrus (5,642 m)

The height difference on Elbrus is up to 2,000 m. There are 3 lines of lifts on the mountain - pendulum-cable lift and cable-chair lift. For beginners there is a rope tow at the foot.
The slopes of Elbrus are much less demanding on the level of skiing than Cheget; here you can find tracks of any complexity.

Snowboarders will be interested in the slopes under the second stage of the lift. And for freeride and backcountry lovers there is the opportunity to join groups with guides.
A 1-Day subscription to the Elbrus Region GC costs 900 rubles. On New Year's holidays - 1000 rubles.

The season on Cheget is from December to April. On most of the Elbrus routes, the season is from October to May. At an altitude of more than 3800 meters, the season lasts all year round, but these areas can only be reached by snowcats.

Kirovsk

The ski season is considered to be from December until almost the end of May. A large influx of skiers and snowboarders is also observed in the first week of the New Year.
During the polar night, from November to January, when there is only 2 hours of daylight, there is a discount on lifts of up to 50%.

The length of the trails is about 30 km. The main advantage is accessibility, from the center to the ski lifts it takes about 20 minutes on foot, the variety of terrain, 4 drag lifts and one chairlift. During the polar night, two routes have evening lighting. There is a slope for beginners, trails of varying degrees of difficulty.

For winter recreation for city residents and sports without traveling to other regions, the Kant ski complex on Nagornaya in Moscow is ideal. About half a million people visit it a year.

The abundance of training trails, their ideal condition, the presence of a ski school and convenient location make the complex a very popular winter holiday destination among citizens and guests of the city.

Athletes hone their skills here, and regular competitions for skiers and snowboarders are held.

Valid charity programs for disabled children and orphans, and pensioners and large families are offered a 50% discount on the use of ski lifts.

The Kant ski club operates on Nagornaya all year round. In the summer it is visited for roller skating, jogging, sambo, tennis and other sports. In total, fifteen sports are taught at the sports school for children and youth. Training is available for children from three years old.

Ski season lasts from December to March and depends on weather conditions. The climate here is moderate with frosty winters; in January the average temperature is -10, -12 degrees.

Where is

One of the advantages of the Kant ski resort is its location. The proximity to the center of Moscow and the main city transport routes makes the complex accessible at any time.

Address: Moscow, Elektrolitny proezd, building 7, building 2 (Nagornaya metro station)

You can get to the KANT ski slope by metro to the Nagornaya metro station, walk straight along Elektrolitny Proezd for 600 meters, then KANT to the left following the sign.

Prices of the Kant ski resort

Works 18 lifts: five rope tows (single and double), thirteen baby lifts.

The cost of one lift for an adult is 30 rubles before 17:00, 50 rubles after 17:00, 60 rubles on weekends. For a child under twelve years old - 17 rubles before 17:00, 27 rubles after 17:00, 32 rubles on weekends.

The resorts, however, should be called “hill skiing” - even the Dmitrovsky district, to which the nickname “Switzerland near Moscow” has firmly stuck, cannot boast of alpine elevation changes. Here 100 meters is already steep.

However, there is no shortage of guests. Pros and confident skaters go to the Moscow region to try out new equipment, warm up before the season at more serious resorts, and spend a “healthy weekend” with family or friends. Beginners are another matter: in the Moscow region there are convenient, easy trails, soul-satisfying “teapots” on the slopes and instructors who speak an understandable language. And it’s easier to put a child who doesn’t speak a foreign language on skis or snowboarding in their home country. In the Moscow region, at any decent resort there is a children's ski school and instructors specializing in teaching children.

The services of instructors in the Moscow region are significantly cheaper than in foreign resorts. This is where the “budget” ends: it is unlikely that you will be able to save money in a good ski center near Moscow. Unless on the road.

“Good” and “decent” resorts are usually called those where there are not just slopes with several slopes and a lift, but the coveted “European level”. Technical equipment, quality of tracks, infrastructure.

To help those who are still wondering where to relax and go skiing, we have selected 5 of the most modern and popular ski centers. Four out of five settled in the Dmitrovsky district of the Moscow region, not far from the city. The high resort concentration is explained not only by the suitable landscape, but also by tradition - more than 50 years ago, the Olympic reserve school was opened here, now Shukolovo or the Leonid Tyagachev club. A huge plus is the favorable environmental situation and the absence of large industries in this area.

When asked how the resorts located here are fundamentally different, their managers and instructors shrug their shoulders: basically, nothing. Everywhere there is a developed infrastructure, everywhere you can stay in hotels or cottages, there are ski schools, modern ski lifts, rentals, repair shops, specialized stores and “non-ski rides”: tubing, snowmobiles, skating rinks. There are even balloons and helicopters. “Europeanness” is added by the presence of evening lighting, an artificial snowmaking system and snowcats.

Fifth on the list is the Chulkovo resort, known to Soviet skiers in the east of the Moscow region, not far from the city of Zhukovsky. In terms of their technical characteristics and infrastructure development, the local centers are inferior to Dmitrov's, but here they are noticeably cheaper, and the instructors are no less professional.

1. Volen and Stepanovo

Ski resorts and Stepanovo are practically relatives: they have the same parents, that is, owners. The resorts are located 5 km from each other.

However, there are differences. “Volen” is a more than well-promoted resort, “Stepanovo” is relatively new, but already well known. “Stepanovo” is more interesting for professionals and confident amateurs: the tracks here are almost a kilometer long, on one of them the height difference is 110 meters - a record for the Moscow region. However, it is not yet possible to stay overnight in Stepanovo; you will have to go to Volen. Resort owners do not assume that someone may not have a personal car, so Volen and Stepanovo are not connected by transport; you need to order a taxi from Yakhroma.

To ski both in Volen and Stepanovo in one day, you will have to buy ski passes twice: they are valid only where they were purchased. But for those who ski throughout the season, it’s convenient: passes are valid in both ski centers. So you can periodically visit two different places using one “card”.

If in “Stepanovo” the pros dominate, then in “Volen” the audience is motley. There are a lot of children who squeal with delight at the sight of the huge tubing track. Many people put their child in the cheesecake in the morning and pick it up when the slope lighting turns on. Or they give it to the “Children's Ski Club”, where the route is open to athletes from three years old. They are trained on a separate track, equipment is selected individually, they are not scolded: instructors with an inexhaustible supply of patience are selected for classes with children.

The scheme promises as many as 15 tracks, including training ones. In practice, there are usually fewer open ones, but there are still plenty to choose from. There are drag and belt lifts, several restaurants and hotels. “Volen” has long turned into a kind of alpine village: with cottages, chalets, shops and good mulled wine. Prices here are also alpine. For an additional fee, they can even offer a “honey massage of the gluteal region.”
In “Stepanovo” there is no honey massage yet, and the catering is represented by three small cafes, but people also come here for a ride, and not just to spend time outside the city.

Where: 64th km of the “Dubna” highway (A-104, Dmitrovskoe highway).

2. Sorochany

Good versatility. There are 4 black (the most difficult) trails - the maximum number in the Moscow region. In addition, the elevation difference (90 meters) and the length of the slopes (about 860 meters) are among the best in the region. Such conditions cannot but attract excellent skiers and snowboarders. Therefore, the pros go either to Sorochany or to the already mentioned Stepanovo. At the same time, “Sorochany” has created good conditions for intermediate and beginners - a training track, comfortable chairlifts (their cat cried in the Moscow region), an army of instructors. Good rentals, and even their own rescue service - this is something other resorts near Moscow cannot boast of

Sorochany.

But those who trudged to “Sorochany” for company, without much desire to plow their faces into fresh snow, will not have to sit out in a hotel. You can ride anything that moves: snowmobiles, ATVs, horses, cheesecakes, even an airplane (there is a small air park nearby) and a hot air balloon. Or sip grog in a cafe with a panoramic view while watching the sporting exploits of your friends.

Usually on weekends there are more skiers in Sorochany - after all, it’s a family sport, they come in groups. On weekdays there are more snowboarders - some here skip lectures, others prefer a board to the office. Another thing is important: there are always a lot of guests at Sorochany, so queues, despite the good capacity of the lifts, are a frequent occurrence, even during night skiing, when both clock hands have already crossed the number 12.

“Sorochany” operates both in winter and summer. In January 2017, our own normal hotel “Iriy” was finally built. This is a complex of one- and two-room houses, with a kitchen and everything you need. Prices, however, are usually high for this type of entertainment: on weekdays from 6,000 rubles, on New Year's holidays - from 12,000.

Where: 54 km of the “Dubna” highway (A-104, Dmitrovskoe highway), 2 km from the village of Ilyinskoye.

3. Yakhroma Park

The trails are more modest than in Sorochany (shorter and have less elevation difference), but they are quite enough for beginners and amateurs. There is a ski school and special training trails with their own lifts. Nearby is an observation deck from which you can laugh at your clumsy friends or wipe away a tear of pride for your little skier. So here a future champion may well be molded from a child.

In Yakhroma, they haven’t forgotten about fans of non-sports recreation: the aqua complex “Orange” and the bathhouse “Bear” invite those who prefer brooms and Bavarian sausages to skiing. Other entertainment options include an outdoor skating rink, as well as a driving range with an extreme driving center, a motorcycle area and, sometimes, test drives of famous brands.
Many people come to Yakhroma Park just to relax, as there are two hotel complexes, cottages and chalets on its territory. In this case, the presence of six modern ski slopes is an excellent addition to riding through the forest on snowmobiles, off-road vehicles and ATVs, as well as dancing in local bars.

Where: 46 kilometers from the Moscow Ring Road along Dmitrovskoe Highway, through the village of Dedenevo, following the signs to Yakhroma Park.

4. Leonid Tyagachev’s ski club “Shukolovo”

Leonid Tyagachev's ski club began in the 1960s as a sports school for children and youth of the Olympic reserve. Almost simultaneously, amateurs began skiing here, so the club can be called the oldest resort in the Moscow region. Fortunately, “oldest” does not mean “outdated.” Members of the Russian alpine skiing and snowboarding team still train in Shukolovo. Lifts and other equipment meet European standards, and they try to “even out” and extend the season with the help of artificial snowmaking. In addition, there is the possibility of holding international competitions (slalom at the Shukolovo club). By the way, the former president of the Russian Olympic Committee chose the place for the resort not by chance - Tyagachev was born in the neighboring village of Dedenevo.

Active leisure is becoming increasingly popular among Muscovites. It’s strange, but the more channels the TV has, the stronger the desire to press the coveted green button and, renouncing “hot news”, “latest events” and other “fresh” information, leave home altogether. And preferably further away. And preferably “in the snow” or “in the ice.” There, where the sense of smell, sight and instinct of self-preservation are sharpened. In a word, I want healthy, not synthesized adrenaline, which our primitive ancestors received when they inhaled through their Neanderthal nostrils the frosty air of the Ice Age, which was mixed with the smell of fried mammoth meat. Or let us at least remember Solveig: she skied all her life and until her old age she did not lose her fortitude and sexual passion. Is it shaky self-confidence, fatigue from political and environmental disasters, or maybe just the desire for a healthy lifestyle that forces us to drop everything on a day off and rush to merge with nature in primitive ecstasy. By the way, it’s also advisable to take your wife, who is sitting at home, and a child, wasting away at the computer, with you. And such respected experts as Dr. Spock and Mr. Carnegie will confirm that a good dose of fresh air and thrills will benefit both health and family relationships.

The most popular ski slopes in Moscow

Even superficial marketing of local ski slopes shows that there are more than 20 of them in Moscow and the immediate Moscow region. Many of them are completely independent of the weather. Fortunately, technology has reached the point where snow is easily synthesized even at above-zero temperatures. On many “sophisticated” ski slopes, the so-called “snow cannons” operate until April. But it is necessary to take into account that skiing on such slides will cost an order of magnitude more than on slopes with “natural snow.” However, "show-off" slides have many undeniable advantages. Firstly, a guarded car park. Agree that you will be skiing for more than one hour. And those caught up in the excitement of personal records are unlikely to closely monitor the car. So, in order to prevent outcasts from taking advantage of your temporary clouding of consciousness, it is still better to choose a descent with a guarded parking lot. By the way, one of the most prestigious slopes, Sorochany, provides this service free of charge.

The second and most important thing is equipment rental. The pleasure, frankly speaking, is expensive. And here it is important that someone else does not “slip” you “killed” skis or bindings. After all, if they break it on you, then you will have to pay for them. In this regard, it is the “expensive” descents that are good. Everything is strict there: a clear gradation is established for the categories of equipment rented, and the amount of damage is determined based on it. Typically these are "A", "B" and "C". "A" is the newest equipment purchased by the base this season. "B" - last year's. "C" - skis that are dying out. You won't have to pay much for their breakdown.

Third - related services. Agree that it’s nice to relax after the descent with a glass of hot tea or mulled wine. And it’s even nicer if you can snack on grilled sausages or hot pancakes right on the descent. When going to a less popular hill, you will have to take sandwiches and thermoses with you.

Fourth, and perhaps the most important. At all prestigious ski resorts there are teams of traumatologists on duty who will provide you with qualified assistance free of charge, if anything happens. On the "small" slopes, the most you can count on is the help of volunteers. By the way, the Volen sports complex has introduced so-called accident insurance on their territory. It costs 50 rubles per day. But you can count on free treatment for your injury in the future.

You should also not discount such “little things” as the illumination of the tracks. With lights and music, skating is much more fun and productive.

Directions from Savelovsky station to Yakhroma station.

One of the most fashionable and expensive ski slopes. It is equipped with a rich infrastructure: there is a place to have lunch, change clothes and even take a shower. Guarded parking lot. There are several trails of varying degrees of difficulty. This is important if you go there with the whole family. You can send your child to a safe slide, while you yourself can get adrenaline by jumping from the trampolines. There are several special trails for snowboarders and freestyle fans. There are 16 lifts, and yet on weekends even they cannot cope with the flow of people. Therefore, the bright holiday of downhill skiing can be overshadowed by the agonizing wait in line for the rope tow. On Sunday the cost of the lift is 200 rubles per hour. On weekdays - 100 rubles. Ski rental: category "A" - 700 rubles for 2 hours. “B” - 500, “C” - 400. But for rental you will be asked to leave a deposit of several tens of thousands of rubles. Or all the documents for the car along with your family’s passports. A deposit purchased once and for the entire season will cost much less. Leaving 16 thousand rubles in the box office, you will be able to ride until mid-April. Medical care at the European level: several teams of qualified doctors of different specialties. Insurance. Children under 6 years old ride for free, under 12 years old - with a 50% discount.

Directions from Savelovsky station to the Yakhroma stop, then follow the sign to the village of Kurovo.

No less "show-off" place than "Volen", but not too hackneyed yet. Therefore, there is a possibility of riding more or less calmly and comfortably on weekends. Many illuminated trails of varying lengths and degrees of difficulty. A ride on weekdays costs 200 rubles per hour, children under 6 years old are free, under 12 - 100 rubles. On weekends and holidays - 400 rubles per hour. You can arrange “one-time” lifts - from 50 to 80 rubles per lift. There is no clear category for the wear of ski sets. “New” skis will cost 400 rubles, “old” ones - 350. The deposit for new equipment is 26 thousand rubles per day, for “old” ones - 9 thousand. Or you can leave the entire set of documents for the car. Snowboarders and other extreme sports enthusiasts ride on specially designated slopes. Free guarded parking lot.

Also one of the most comfortable ski places in Moscow. The slopes are not very steep, designed more for beginners than professionals. Good lighting, many lifts. There is a large influx of people from nearby areas, so you won’t have to ride alone even on weekdays. An hourly subscription last season cost 200 rubles. This year, due to the lack of snow, exact prices have not yet been established. Compared to Volen and Sorochany, the infrastructure is poor.

Directions to the station metro station "Krylatskoe", access to the rowing canal and bicycle track.

Several slopes 200-350 meters long. 4 combined lifts are constantly operating. It's good to ride with children - it's safe. Instruction from a professional trainer is included in the cost of service. Use of the lift - 300 rubles per hour. Discounts for children. The snow is mostly natural, but in the absence of it, “snow cannons” operate on weekends. The infrastructure is poor. But the locker rooms are open and there are places to eat. The trails are illuminated and there is a radio station.

Travel along the Yaroslavskoe highway towards Sergiev Posad, then follow the sign.

The place is generally not bad. There is everything. Ski rental will cost 300-600 rubles per hour. Paid guarded parking. There are both quite civil cafes and improvised kebab shops. Locker room, music, lights - all this works until late. There are special lifts for children. There aren’t too many people, and on weekdays you can ski the entire slope alone. But there is one very, very big “but”: bad tracks. The slopes wind in an ornate way right between snow-white birches. High level of injuries.
