Is Beeline available in Crimea? MTS Crimea and mobile communications - operators, tariffs and tips

Several years have passed since Crimea joined Russia, but the “big four” Russian cellular operators are in no hurry to “cover” the peninsula with their networks. Crimea is increasingly becoming a vacation destination for Russians, and therefore the portal site decided to tell you which cellular communications are best to use on the peninsula so that roaming “doesn’t hit your pocket.”

How can any Russian save on calls and the Internet when traveling around Crimea? What is better - to connect roaming options to your operator or to purchase a SIM card from a local telecom operator for the duration of your vacation? Let's figure it out.

Today, four local operators provide cellular communications on the peninsula: WinMobile, Wave Mobile, Krymtelecom, Sevmobile and one of the Big Four operators – MTS. Let's consider the most popular and favorable rates for tourists. Let's take into account that we will occasionally need to make calls both “home” and throughout Crimea (on average 8 minutes a day), as well as actively use instant messengers, social networks and “surf” the Internet ( 3 GB traffic).

It is worth noting that in Crimea you can legally buy MTS SIM cards with any tariff plan. In this case, SIM cards will be registered in the Krasnodar Territory, but Crimea will not be considered a roaming region for them. According to unofficial data, MTS in Crimea belongs to the region “Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygea”.

MTS has a fairly extensive line of tariff plans, but the new recently launched tariff with a subscription fee is most suitable for our needs 330 rub./month. with a range of services from 5 GB mobile internet, 300 minutes to all numbers in Crimea and Krasnodar Territory and 300 SMS messages.

According to our data, MTS provides communication services throughout the Crimean peninsula.

Volna Mobile (KTK Telecom LLC)

KTK Telecom LLC operates under the Volna Mobile brand. The company's 4G network covers only some areas of Simferopol (including the airport), Sevastopol, Yalta, Foros, Sanatorium, Alushta and Kerch. 2G and 3G networks are available almost everywhere. A detailed coverage map can be found on the operator’s website.

"Volna Mobile" offers everything - "Sea", "Sun" and "Wind". Considering our needs (3 GB and 8 minutes per day), the best option for us would be the tariff.

Tariff "Sea" package, and for a subscription fee in 150 rub./month. we get 300 minutes calls to all numbers in Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory, as well as 3 GB mobile internet. Calls within Russia - 3 rubles/min. At the end of the main traffic package, Internet access becomes free, but at a speed of 32 Kbps. However, you can connect (*502*1#) an additional 1 GB of traffic for 50 rubles under the “Extend 1 GB speed” option.

"Win mobile" (LLC "K-telecom")

Win Mobile 4G is available only in some areas of Simferopol, Sevastopol, Yalta, Alushta and Kerch. 3G and 2G networks are available almost throughout the entire peninsula, with the exception of mountainous and sparsely populated steppe areas. A detailed coverage map can be found on the operator’s website.

Calls using the “Offshore” tariff will cost us 3 rub. in a minute conversation, while the operator has a single tariff for both outgoing calls in Crimea and throughout Russia. Mobile Internet at the “At Sea” tariff is provided in packages 100 MB for 10 rubles. for every. The first 90 days from the moment the number is activated monthly fee 0 rub.

State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Krymtelecom"

The big disadvantage of Krymtelecom is lack of 4G networks. The operator provides communication services only in 2G and 3G networks, while 3G networks are available only in some large cities. A detailed coverage map can be found on the operator’s website.

Among the tariff line of Krymtelecom, it is worth paying attention to - “Contact”, “Super Contact” and “My Crimea”.

For a holiday in Crimea, only a package tariff is suitable for us, which includes 5 GB Internet, unlimited calls to Krymtelecom numbers and 100 SMS. A minute of conversation with other operators on the peninsula will cost 1.5 rub., and calls to other regions of Russia cost 5 RUR/min.

"SevMobile" (LLC "SevTelecomSvyaz")

Mobile operator "SevMobile" provides communication services only in Sevastopol and nearby settlements. The operator's connection only works in 2G and 3G networks.

We do not recommend connecting to SevMobile while on vacation in Crimea, unless you are going to vacation exclusively in Sevastopol and the surrounding area, since the company does not have its own base stations in other regions of Crimea.

Let's consider how much cellular communications will cost for subscribers of the Big Four - Beeline, MegaFon, MTS and Tele2. What options can you connect to save on mobile communications in Crimea?

PJSC Mobile TeleSystems (MTS)

Only MTS considers Crimea to be the same region as other constituent entities of the Russian Federation - albeit unofficially. The operator provides communication services in Crimea at uniform national roaming rates.

MTS subscribers vacationing in Crimea can activate the option “Everywhere is like home” and prices for calls, internet and SMS will be the same as in your home region. However, connecting the option is worth it 30 rub., and you will have to pay a subscription fee of 7 rub./day.

PJSC VimpelCom (Beeline brand)

Beeline is so far the only one of the Big Four operators who significantly increases the cost of communication services for its subscribers when traveling to Crimea.

From December 14, 2017, Beeline has an affordable tariff plan for subscribers of all tariff plans on trips to Crimea and Sevastopol - the cost of 1 minute of conversation and 1 SMS message is now only 2 rubles.

The cost of the first three megabytes per day is provided at the same price - 2 rubles per 1 MB traffic, after which the subscriber will be connected to the package 110 MB for 200 rubles(1.8 rubles per 1 MB), after which subsequent traffic is also charged at 2 rubles per 1 MB.

PJSC MegaFon

Mobile operator MegaFon provides the opportunity to connect the option "Crimea", with which everything inbox becomes free, outgoing to Russian numbers – 4 RUR/min, SMS to Russian numbers – 3 rubles/pcs, and Mobile Internet – 5 RUR/MB.

The option is free to connect, but has a subscription fee - 15 rub./day.

OO "T2 RTK Holding" (Tele2 brand)

By default, all incoming and outgoing calls will cost 5 RUR/min, SMS – 3.5 rubles, Internet – 5 RUR/MB. However, if you receive a lot of incoming calls, we recommend enabling the option “It’s like home in Crimea”, with which everything inboxes will be free, and the remaining parameters will remain unchanged.

It is worth considering that the “Like at home in Crimea” option has a subscription fee - 6 RUR/day, but its connection costs 30 rub.

We have presented you with the most economical communication options when traveling to Crimea. The conclusions are not comforting - no one is going to cancel roaming yet. Using the Internet and communicating on the phone while roaming is still very expensive, unless of course you are a Beeline subscriber.

Hello everyone, my dears! I don’t like to write about the negative, but it’s better to be prepared for the bad than to unexpectedly face it. Today I will tell you what cellular communication is like in Crimea, why everything is bad with it, and what a tourist needs to do.

Let me make a reservation right away that our trip took place in May 2015, but at the time of writing the article the information remains relevant. So...

In this article:

What is the main problem of communication in Crimea

When we went to Crimea, we did not suspect that buying a card would be SO bad. Yes, and this is the main problem we encountered: to buy a SIM card you need to try very hard.

We disembarked from the ferry onto the peninsula at night. At the same moment, our beeline stopped working. All communication shops in Kerch are, of course, closed. We decided that we would buy a SIM card in Sevastopol, but when we arrived there, we had to look for SIM cards for about 2 hours!

How it was.

We stopped in a fairly busy place: a small shopping center, many shops, a vegetable market. By a certain logic, we decided that somewhere in all this diversity, SIM cards should be sold. Well, simply because in such places we always have a small cell phone store, counter or something similar.

I'm not even talking about the fact that in such busy places there can be several of them in different salons at once.

But this was not the case here. We went into shops, salons with telephones, pavilions at bus stops. NOTHING. We asked sellers where you can buy a SIM card. They were just thinking and couldn’t say anything, but at the same time everyone had a smartphone in their hand. The question “where did you personally buy your SIM card?” also remained unanswered.

But we couldn’t give up; we had to contact the owner of the guest house where we later lived.

I remember that we went to the Technopoint store, where we were sent to a shopping center, which was located on the ground floor of a neighboring house. Here we found a point that, in addition to the main goods (electronics and other things), sold SIM cards. True, we had to wait until the seller returned from lunch, but this did not scare us.

As a result, after half an hour the card was in our hands, or rather, in our phone.

Then, when we got to know the city better, we noticed that there were cell phone stores, but there were really few of them. After this, I want to bow to the owners of the Svyaznoy network, Euroset, MTS and others, for the fact that they are 5 minutes from my house and any stop. This is a real thank you to you.

But let's go back to the moment where we were near the pavilion and purchased a SIM card. We were offered a choice of 2 operators: MTS and WIN. Let me tell you briefly about each.

Which operators are currently working in Crimea

1. MTS

I’ll say right away that I haven’t seen MTS stores in Crimea, but instead of them you can meet people on the streets who sell SIM cards directly from the table. During the season they can be found on Nakhimov Avenue and Lenin Street.

Now about the prices. MTS seemed to us more profitable at that time for calls within Russia than its competitor. The tariff was called “Super-MTS” Krasnodar region:

  • a SIM card costs 50 rubles and they immediately appear on your account
  • calls within Crimea and Krasnodar 20 minutes a day free, then 0.5 rubles per minute
  • calls to Russia cost 10 rubles per minute, but you can activate the “Favorite Country” service for 50 rubles per month, and calls will cost 3.5 rubles per minute
  • As for the Internet, here you also need to connect a package, otherwise it’s expensive.

I don’t know if it’s possible to buy MTS in advance in Russia, go to an MTS communication store and find out there. I admit honestly, I tried to find out this issue through the support service, but:

  • MTS does not distribute information about tariffs in Crimea on its website.
  • To get through to them, I had to hang on the line for 1.5 hours, after which the call was interrupted, this is really tough.

2.WIN

The salons of this operator can be found on the streets of Sevastopol. Not very often, but still. You can view the rates at his official website.

Below I will briefly list the cost of calls to Russia using the “Freedom of Communication” tariff:

  • a SIM card costs 50 rubles and this amount appears on the account
  • calls to Russia cost 9.5 rubles per minute, but you can activate the “My Russia” service, which costs 15 rubles one-time + 2 rubles subscription fee per day, but calls will cost 2 rubles per minute.
  • Calls to Krasnodar region and Crimea cost 1 ruble per minute
  • Internet is 10 rubles per 1 MB, but you can connect packages with a subscription fee of 3 rubles per day.

In general, if I chose this operator, it would be only because of the Internet. He has an interesting tariff called “Fast and Furious,” which we didn’t pay attention to at the time. Pay 400 rubles per month and you have 5 GB of daytime and 5 GB of nightly Internet, that is, 10 GB of Internet! You can simply call on Skype, Viber and connect via social networks. But calls in this case will be expensive.

3. Beeline

Beeline for Crimea offers to connect the “My Country” service. Naturally, you need to connect it in advance, before entering the peninsula. So, how much does roaming cost:

  • connecting to the service costs 25 rubles
  • incoming calls for 1 minute cost 3 rubles, for subsequent ones - free
  • outgoing within Russia - 3 rubles per minute
  • SMS within Russia - 3 rubles per minute

In addition, in order to roam, you must have a certain amount of money in your account. If my memory serves me right - 500 rubles. But in my opinion, for calls this is one of the best and easiest options. As for the Internet, everything is not so rosy here - 10 rubles per 1 MB.

Let me summarize briefly. If it is important for you to be in touch immediately after crossing the bay, you need to worry about a SIM card in advance: either it will be MTS or Beeline with roaming. If this is not important for you, you can buy a SIM card on the spot, in the salon. At the moment, I would prefer the Internet tariff from WIN.

Here's a review, my dears. I really hope you found this article helpful. I'm waiting for your comments and questions, ask, we'll figure it out together. In addition, I suggest you read the article about

It's time for vacations and seas, which means it's time to find out which cellular operators are in Crimea in 2017. In addition, we will tell you which operator's number starts with 978 and how to contact MTS support.

So, in 2018, the following mobile operators operate in Crimea:

  1. Win Mobile;
  2. Wave mobile;
  3. Krymtelecom;
  4. SevMobile.

WinMobile

Win Mobile was the first Russian operator to operate in Crimea. It offers users 3 tariffs:

  • "Freedom of communication"
  • "Fast and Furious"
  • "On the sea"

For Crimeans, the first one is the most profitable. Within the Win Mobile network you can communicate for free for an hour a day, calls to other operators in Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory cost only 1 ruble per minute, but calls within Russia cost 9.5 rubles per minute. The downside is that communication is not available in all regions of the peninsula, since the operator still has few towers and base stations.

MTS

The largest operator of these is MTS Russia. It began operating in Crimea in the summer of 2014 and confidently occupies a leading position in the number of connected numbers among residents of the peninsula.

MTS has excellent coverage; communication works well in almost all corners. The optimal choice for users is the “Super MTS” tariff without a subscription fee. You are given 20 free minutes per day for calls within Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory.

For everyone who goes on vacation to Crimea from Russia, we recommend choosing MTS - it will have the least number of problems!

Wave Mobile

On June 15, 2016, the operator Volna Mobile began operating in Crimea. It has 3 tariffs (“Sea”, “Sun” and “Wind”), of which the most attractive is “Sea”. For 150 rubles per month you can talk without restrictions within the network and use the Internet at a speed of 32 Kbps. In addition, subscribers are given 300 free minutes for calls to numbers of other operators in Crimea and the neighboring Krasnodar Territory.

Krymtelecom

When traveling around Russia and the world, it is extremely important to constantly monitor your phone balance. This will allow you to constantly stay in touch with your loved ones and help you share everything that happens with them. But it should be remembered that new, higher prices apply outside the home network, and communication abroad becomes especially expensive. Do not forget about the increase in tariffs for vacationers. When planning a future trip, you should find out in advance whether Beeline roaming is available in Crimea in 2019.

To the delight of many tourists, Beeline canceled international roaming, allowing subscribers to use their usual tariff conditions.

Since there is no international roaming left on the peninsula, different mobile operator subscribers receive different communication rates. They depend on the tariff that the SIM card owner uses, and can have both positive and negative sides.

To clarify the cost of services, you should:

  • go to the official Beeline portal;
  • go to the “tariffs” subsection;
  • view rates for calls and messages outside your home region.

Additionally, it is worth noting that the “My Country” option, which allows you to save money when traveling around Russia, is not available in Crimea.

Mobile Internet

The cost of the Internet does not differ from the tariffs offered by Beeline for other communication services. Each gigabyte is calculated based on the connected tariff plan of each user. At the same time, when checking prices, you should look at the terms of use outside the connection region.

Additionally, in order to reduce overall communication costs, it is worth checking all connected options in advance and disabling unnecessary ones.

Such actions will allow you to save money without requiring anything unusual or complex from users.

How to activate roaming?

The question of whether and how to connect Beeline roaming in Crimea will not cause any difficulties for subscribers? To connect to the network, you do not need to enable additional options or activate special services. All settings happen automatically. In some cases, if difficulties or problems arise with the operation of the SIM card, you should register in the K-Telecom network. This simple action will eliminate the last difficulties and make using the services of a mobile operator simple and convenient. Customers will only have to replenish their balance on time and monitor the balance of money in their phone account.

In March 2014, well-known events took place - the Crimean Peninsula again returned to Russia. And in connection with this, some changes have occurred in many areas of life of Crimeans. This did not bypass Crimean mobile communications either.

MTS Russia

The price of the starter package is only fifty rubles. In addition, there is no subscription fee and there is no mandatory fixed replenishment. It is possible to connect to any services offered by the MTS operator.

WinMobile

Answering the question of which cellular operators in Crimea provide their services uninterruptedly in 2016, it is worth mentioning K-Telecom (Win Mobile), which began operating in August 2014. The price of the starter package is also 50 rubles, there are various tariff plans and services.

Both mobile operators have a code 978. The only difference is that “Win Mobile” phone numbers begin with the number 9. (Example: +7-978-9хх-хх-хх).

For a modern person, it is very important that his mobile phone functions at full capacity even while he is on vacation. Below are answers to the most important questions that concern tourists and guests of the Republic of Crimea about what cellular communications work in Crimea in 2016 and whether any problems with communication will arise while visiting the peninsula.

In addition, in the cities of Kerch and Sevastopol, from May 1, 2016, the mobile operator “Win Mobile” provides 3G communication services to improve the quality of the Internet. Over time, this operator plans to provide 3G mobile networks to all major cities and towns of the Crimean peninsula.

Is it possible to purchase an MTS Russia SIM card in Crimea without any problems?

In Crimea, calling from mobile to mobile is extremely simple. Both existing mobile operators offer the most favorable tariff plans that allow you to make calls within Crimea and anywhere in mainland Russia.
