The child's gallbladder is bent. Bend of the gallbladder: symptoms in children, treatment of labile, fixed and congenital bend. Diagnosis and treatment for bending of the gallbladder

Has your child been diagnosed with a constriction (bend) of the gallbladder? Due to this deformation, the gallbladder does not function fully due to impaired outflow of bile. What to do in this situation? Let's look at the causes, symptoms and methods of treating gallbladder deformation in a child.

Many parents experience gallbladder deformation (partial or complete). This pathology occurs in almost every fourth child aged 5-16 years. Normally, the gallbladder is pear-shaped. Due to some reasons, it may become deformed due to kinks in different places. The organ can take on a hook-shaped, arc- or hourglass-shaped configuration. A double bend is also often found.

The main causes of gallbladder deformities are as follows:

  • its increased mobility due to anatomical features;
  • eating disorder - when your child eats at long intervals and overeats;
  • sudden movements, jumping and lifting weights;
  • excess body weight;
  • sedentary lifestyle.

Bend gallbladder in a child: symptoms

You can suspect problems with the gallbladder and bile flow based on the following signs:

  • the child complains of abdominal pain (in the right hypochondrium);
  • he feels sick, maybe vomiting;
  • bitterness appears in the mouth, bloating;
  • temperature may rise, etc.

As soon as you notice these symptoms, consult your doctor. The bending of the gallbladder can be diagnosed by ultrasound.

A bend in the gallbladder causes normal flow of bile. She stagnates. If stagnation is prolonged, then an inflammatory process occurs.

The disease may not make itself felt for a long time. If it is detected, it can occur in two forms, which differ in symptoms. In the first case, your child may experience abdominal pain after eating fatty or fried foods. Abdominal pain can also occur due to excessive physical activity, fast walking, or running. The second variant of the disease is accompanied by prolonged, aching pain in the area of the right hypochondrium. Your child may complain of a bitter taste in the mouth in the morning and nausea.

If, due to deformation of the bladder, inflammation occurs and an infection occurs, then your baby may develop a fever.

What are the consequences of a bent gallbladder:

  • indigestion due to incomplete breakdown and poor absorption of fats;
  • the likelihood of obesity and the risk of diabetes;
  • deficiency of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E and K);
  • the occurrence of chronic cholecystitis;
  • risk of gallstone disease.
Gallbladder deformities are a rather dangerous disease. With this pathology, there is a high risk of necrosis of part of the organ, which can cause bile to enter the abdominal cavity and peritonitis.

Bend of the gallbladder in a child: treatment

Once your child is diagnosed with a kinked gallbladder, the doctor will prescribe treatment. As a rule, it is conservative and its purpose is to improve the flow of bile. Treatment includes the following methods:

  • a diet that excludes the consumption of fried, fatty, spicy, sour foods;
  • for the period of exacerbation - a special diet, taking choleretic drugs, antispasmodics and painkillers;
  • in case of inflammation, antibiotics are prescribed;
  • phytotherapy;
  • physiotherapy.

A bend in the gallbladder in a child is a deformation of the organ and a decrease in its performance. The gallbladder is divided into three parts (fundus, neck, body) and is located in the lower part of the liver. In its normal state, the organ looks like a pear or funnel, but under the influence of various factors it can take on any shape.

Causes

In a child, a bend in the gallbladder can be a congenital or acquired pathology.

With a congenital anomaly, the structure of the organ is deformed even at the stage of intrauterine development. One of the causes of congenital inflection may be genetic mutations, which lead to impaired development of the muscle layer. In most cases, congenital inflection of the bile duct occurs without pronounced symptoms and does not require special treatment. Often, a congenital anomaly is detected by chance during an examination, for example, an ultrasound. In addition, such pathology can resolve with age without external intervention.

Acquired inflection of the gall bladder can develop against the background of excessive activity, emotional or physical stress, poor nutrition, and excess weight.

It is worth noting that children are strictly prohibited from lifting weights, as this threatens organ prolapse and increases the risk of gall bladder deformation.

Symptoms of a bent gallbladder in a child

Bile is necessary for the normal process of digesting food in the intestines; it serves as a solvent for foods.

It is worth noting that the body does not need bile all the time, but only for a certain period of time - after eating. The gallbladder serves as a kind of storage of bile and releases it only when necessary. When an organ is deformed, the outflow of bile from the gallbladder is disrupted, which leads to malfunctions of the digestive system as a whole; the symptoms of this pathology depend on the place where the bend is observed.

If the part between the bottom and body of the gallbladder is deformed, a person experiences abdominal pain, which can radiate to the shoulder blade, collarbone, sternum, nausea and vomiting after eating. In addition, there are jams and cracks on the lips, and a coating on the tongue. In children, this deformation of the gallbladder is the most common.

A bend in the child’s gallbladder in the cervical area leads to pain in the left hypochondrium, nausea, and excessive gas formation. A bend in the neck is considered a dangerous pathology that can lead to death; bile can enter the abdominal cavity and provoke a severe inflammatory process.

In extremely rare cases, an organ becomes bent in several places; as a rule, this happens when stones form or the gallbladder is abnormally large. In this case, abdominal pain and nausea after eating also appear.

Diagnostics

A bend in the gallbladder in a child can be asymptomatic; as a rule, in this case, the pathology is detected accidentally during an ultrasound or computed tomography of the internal organs.

Treatment of a bend in the gallbladder in a child

In a child, a bend in the gallbladder is treated conservatively, but therapy takes a long time and includes medications, physiotherapeutic procedures, treatment in a sanatorium, and diet.

In case of deformation of the gall bladder, antispasmodic and choleretic drugs are prescribed (Flamin, Odeston, Aristochol, Chophytol, Tsikvalon), which prevent excessive accumulation of bile and promote its entry into the intestines. These medications are prescribed in courses, the duration of which is determined by the doctor (from 2 to 4 weeks); as a rule, 1-2 tablets are prescribed before meals three times a day.

Physiotherapeutic procedures that improve blood flow in the gallbladder and normalize its functioning show a good therapeutic effect.

In case of gallstone inflection, a diet is prescribed, which is considered the basis of treatment, since without proper nutrition, the effect of other treatment methods is reduced to zero. Patients with gallstone deformity are recommended to completely exclude dough products, salted, fried, spicy, fatty foods, smoked foods from the diet, and consume more non-acidic fruits and vegetables (boiled or baked pumpkin is especially recommended for this pathology).

The child can be given lean meat, pasta, cereals, seafood, and dairy products. It is better to cook dishes by steaming, baking or boiling.

You also need to ensure that the child drinks enough fluid to prevent bile from thickening.

Treatment of such pathology with the help of medicinal herbs is widespread. For children over 12 years old, choleretic collection No. 3 is recommended, the complex effect of which has antispasmodic, choleretic, and anti-inflammatory effects. The collection includes mint, calendula, chamomile, tansy, and yarrow. You need to take a decoction of medicinal herbs three times a day, 1/3 cup, 30 minutes before meals.

Physiotherapy

Dear readers, during an ultrasound of the liver and gallbladder, our children are often diagnosed with a kink in the gallbladder. What should we, adults, do? How to help a child? This is what we will talk about in detail today.

This disorder occurs very often in early school age and in most cases requires only diet and regular consultations with a gastroenterologist. For many children, the problem disappears on its own after adolescence.

The average age at which a kinked gallbladder is detected in a child is 6 years, and by the age of 12-15 the organ takes on an anatomically correct shape. But this does not happen for all children. You shouldn’t ignore a bend in a child’s gallbladder, but you shouldn’t make it a problem on a universal scale either. Just monitor your baby’s condition and teach your children the principles of healthy eating from childhood. This is useful not only when the gallstone is bent, but also in the absence of this anomaly.

Classification of kinks

A bend in the gallbladder can be congenital or acquired. If a disorder is detected during the first preventative ultrasound, then most likely the baby was born with this feature. The child has a congenital bend of the gallbladder, which is not considered a disease, but is only a distinctive feature.

But under the influence of unfavorable factors, a bend in the gallbladder in children can lead to stagnation of bile, the formation of stones and chronic inflammatory processes (cholecystitis).

Normally, the gall bladder is pear-shaped. It ensures the free flow of bile into the duodenum and its participation in the digestion process. A child may have a labile inflection of the gallbladder, when the organ changes shape when standing or regardless of body position. On one ultrasound the anomaly is noticeable, on another it is not detected.

A bend in the neck of the gallbladder in a child is more common, and this type is the most favorable. If the organ is bent in the middle, then it is impossible to avoid disruption of its functionality and the development of complications. Also, specialists may detect a fixed bend in the gallbladder in a child, which does not disappear over time and persists for many years.

If your baby is diagnosed with a similar pathology, do not despair and do not invent non-existent diseases. The presence of a bend in the bile duct in a child does not always mean that in the future there will be problems with bile secretion and the functioning of the digestive tract. But you must follow a diet. The presence of an inflection is always the first sign that the risk of dyskinesia, cholecystitis and cholelithiasis is increased.

Causes of gallstone inflection in children

It is impossible to establish the exact reasons for the bending of the gallbladder in a child. A doctor can only guess by analyzing his past experience and existing knowledge. In infants, disease of the biliary tract is the cause of perinatal damage to the central nervous system, and may appear as a result of chronic hypoxia and birth injuries.

Main provoking factors:

  • intrauterine pathologies and changes that interfere with the development of the gallbladder, acute infections suffered by a woman during pregnancy;
  • an increase in the size of the liver and other organs of the digestive tract;
  • constant overeating, which leads to disruption of the motor function of the gallbladder and a change in its anatomically correct position;
  • an increase in the size of the liver and right kidney due to acute and chronic infections and inflammatory processes;
  • atypical extrahepatic location of the gallbladder;
  • heavy sports and physical activity that is not appropriate for the child’s age;
  • abuse of unhealthy foods that contain large amounts of fats and simple carbohydrates.

In children, a bend in the gallbladder often occurs due to a hereditary predisposition. Diseases of the biliary organs are often inherited from close relatives. If parents have any abnormalities in the functioning or structure of the gallbladder, liver and ducts, it is recommended to pay special attention to the child’s health and, even without complaints, limit fatty, fried and spicy foods.

Possible complaints from children

With congenital inflection of the gallbladder, a child usually has no symptoms for a long time. But if you abandon the principles of a healthy diet and create conditions for bile stagnation, the following complaints may appear:

  • pain in the right hypochondrium;
  • heaviness and nausea after eating;
  • discomfort in the stomach;
  • increased gas formation;
  • yellow skin tone;
  • the appearance of a bitter taste in the mouth;
  • rare vomiting after overeating or eating too fatty foods;
  • decreased appetite.

Pronounced signs of kinking of the gallbladder in a child are characteristic of an acquired anomaly. In this case, children often complain of pain in the right side of the abdomen, which can radiate to the shoulder blade, back and stomach. An increase in pain occurs after physical overload, when the child plays active games, runs and jumps a lot. Also, characteristic signs of a bend in the gallbladder may appear after severe stress or a heavy holiday dinner.

Diagnostics

Making an accurate diagnosis when a child’s gallbladder is bent does not cause any difficulties. The main method of examination is ultrasound. During an ultrasound examination of the liver and gallbladder, the doctor determines the presence of an inflection, can immediately assess the functionality of the organ (ultrasound with stress), and detect concomitant diseases.

A pediatric gastroenterologist must prescribe a comprehensive laboratory test of blood, urine and feces. If any abnormalities are detected, treatment begins immediately.

In children with a bend in the gallbladder, functional disorders of other organs of the gastrointestinal tract, including the liver, are often detected. It is extremely important to conduct a thorough examination of the child so as not to miss concomitant diseases. Otherwise, time will be lost and these diseases will become chronic, will bother you in the future and cause serious complications.

Treatment

Treatment of a bend in the gallbladder in a child is carried out if there is constant stagnation of bile and an increased risk of stone formation. If the anomaly is congenital and does not bother you in any way, it is recommended to follow a non-strict diet, feed children in small portions, but more often, so that there is no stagnation of bile. If you complain of pain, nausea, vomiting and other signs of bending, the biliary child should be shown to a qualified specialist.

Which doctor should I contact?

If you experience dull pain in the right hypochondrium or accidentally discover a bend in the gallbladder in a child, you should contact a pediatric gastroenterologist or pediatrician. The doctor will conduct an examination and prescribe a comprehensive examination, which will help determine the causes of complaints and prescribe appropriate treatment.

Drug therapy

Only a doctor prescribes medications for children with gallstone inflection. Parents should not use any medications without permission, especially cholagogues. They can be very dangerous and lead to colic and other complications.

Medicines are selected by the doctor based on complaints and diagnostic results. The following groups of funds can be prescribed:

  • antispasmodics;
  • analgesics;
  • hepatoprotectors;
  • enzymatic agents;
  • anti-bloating medications;
  • probiotics, synbiotics (for constant flatulence and dysbacteriosis);
  • choleretic agents, including as part of tubing under the supervision of a specialist.

If, when the gallbladder is bent in an adult, many allow themselves to prescribe medications without authorization, then this is unacceptable in relation to children. At an early age, it is difficult to suspect the development of the disease. Only preventive ultrasound examinations allow timely detection of pathologies of the gallbladder and other organs of the digestive tract. Do not refuse regular diagnostics.

Many parents begin to panic and do not know what to do if a child has a kink in the gallbladder. For some reason, they look for answers to their questions on forums, although it is possible to perfectly combine obtaining information online and at an appointment with a pediatric gastroenterologist.

Our advice: before going to the doctor, look at all the information on the topic yourself, write down your questions, which you then discuss with your doctor. Do this so you don't miss out on all the subtleties. Usually, during an appointment, we can get excited and forget about what we wanted to ask the doctor.

Medical nutrition

A therapeutic diet for a child with a bent gallbladder is necessarily included in the complex treatment and prevention of complications, including cholelithiasis. Experts recommend adhering to the principles of healthy eating and diet No. 5. The bending of the gallbladder itself creates the preconditions for stagnation of bile. If a child eats rarely, consumes excessively fatty and fried foods in large quantities, his health will deteriorate sharply and the risk of developing concomitant diseases will increase.

Principles of nutrition when the gallbladder is bent in a child:

  • refusal of fast food, dry food, carbonated drinks;
  • moderate restriction of simple carbohydrates (sweets);
  • maintaining intervals between meals of at least 2-3 hours;
  • mechanical and chemical sparing, steaming, stewing and boiling foods;
  • refusal of pork, goose fat, fatty meat, onions, garlic, sauces, marinades and pungency, which strongly irritate the gastrointestinal mucosa and can provoke inflammatory processes;
  • a sufficient amount of liquid - at least 1-1.5 liters (the volume depends on age, activity level, temperature and air humidity);
  • avoidance of foods that cause bloating (grapes, corn, peas, fresh baked goods);
  • prevention of overeating, especially at night;
  • prohibition on fasting, even short.

If the child's condition worsens and complaints of dull pain in the right hypochondrium, consult a doctor as soon as possible. An exacerbation should not be treated at home. No diet will help if an inflammatory process occurs in a child against the background of an inflection of the gall bladder. In this case, it is necessary to apply complex therapeutic measures, which include compliance with dietary recommendations, but are not limited to them.

Children with gallstone inflection benefit from milk and dairy-free porridges, fruits and berries (except sour ones), boiled or stewed meat and fish, steamed cutlets, stewed vegetables, cottage cheese and other high-quality products that do not irritate the gastrointestinal tract and do not cause disruptions in the biliary system. .

Physiotherapy

To prevent bile stagnation in children with a kink in the gallbladder, it is recommended to maintain an active lifestyle. But at the same time, the loads should be moderate, without sudden movements. Swimming, gymnastics, and ballroom dancing have a positive effect on the functioning of the biliary organs. With your doctor's permission, you can start doing children's yoga. But before using physical therapy, it is necessary to find out for sure whether the child has gallstone disease, which can be complicated by colic. A set of therapeutic exercises for a child’s gallbladder bend should be selected by a doctor.

Watch the video in which Dr. Komarovsky talks about the bending of the gallbladder in a child and the causes of the deformation.

Consequences for the child's health

In children, gallbladder kinks are often labile, which disappear with age. The consequences of such deformations rarely occur. But constant excesses can lead to the following complications:

  • biliary dyskinesia;
  • cholecystitis (calculous, acalculous);
  • chronic stagnation of bile;
  • formation of biliary sludge, gallstones.

It is important to professionally assess the clinical situation and predict how dangerous a gallstone bend can be for a child. Then it will be possible to prevent complications and maintain the functionality of the biliary system. But it is impossible to do this without the help of a doctor. Do not refuse the help of a specialist, because gallbladder diseases can be very insidious and dangerous, especially in childhood.

A bend or bend of the gallbladder is the loss of the natural shape of the organ due to certain reasons. The gallbladder serves as a storage facility for bile; it is supplied to the esophagus in situations where the body needs it. Deformation of an organ by bending reduces its performance, and in special cases can completely stop its functioning. A bend in the gallbladder in a child is most often hereditary. Due to certain circumstances, during the development of the fetus, disruptions occur that do not allow the organ to fully form.

A bend in the gallbladder in a child is most often hereditary.

What is a bent gallbladder in a child?

In a newborn child, changes in the shape of an organ are not always diagnosed. This is due to the fact that the pathology may well not manifest itself until a certain moment. Situations often occur when a congenital inflection of the gallbladder in children is not detected either during diagnosis in the maternity hospital or during adulthood. Many people diagnose the disease only by chance, conducting an ultrasound examination to identify other possible diseases. But often, due to the irregular shape of the organ, people experience certain symptoms, which, during examination, are confirmed as cholelithiasis and other dangerous diseases.

The gallbladder, when deformed, reduces its ability to fully accumulate bile. As a result, stagnation of bile in the ducts can form stones. Stones obstruct the flow of fluid through the channels and can lead to very serious consequences. One of them, with an extreme degree of development of the pathology, may be complete removal of the organ through surgery. This means that the body will be subjected to great overloads, and throughout life it will be necessary to reduce them, adhering to certain recommendations.

Many people know first-hand what a bend in an organ is, what consequences pathology can bring, and how one has to adapt to life in conditions of complete or partial dysfunction of one of the body’s parts. The disease is quite common, and therefore there are also quite a lot of treatment and prevention methods.

Pathology can seriously undermine health; bending in the area of the organ body is especially dangerous.

A bend in the gallbladder in a child is most often congenital. During pregnancy, for certain reasons, the organ does not develop fully. This may be due to an unhealthy lifestyle during gestation or heredity, as a result of which the baby has deviations from the moment of birth.

Why kinks occur, specific factors influencing the formation of an organ, in addition to heredity, have now been studied quite well by medicine. Tobacco smoking or, for example, taking medications not authorized by a doctor can easily affect the development of this pathology. Pathology can seriously undermine health; bending in the area of the organ body is especially dangerous. In cases where deformation appears precisely in this part of the bladder, surgical intervention is often performed.

Types of gallbladder kinks in children

The bends of the gallbladder in children are divided into several types - those obtained from the moment of birth and those that arise during life. Regardless of the nature of the pathology, deformation occurs in the following parts of the organ:

  • in the cervical area,
  • in the body area,
  • in the bottom area.

A curved organ in the cervical part is most common. Such deformation can seriously harm the entire digestive system. A child's gallbladder may take on a hook-like shape. There is an opinion that bending in the area of the body of the organ is most dangerous. Volvulus may well cause a tissue breakthrough, which will inevitably lead to acute peritonitis of the abdominal cavity. Without urgent medical attention, such a scenario can lead to death. It is important to identify the functional inflection of the gallbladder in a child as early as possible. The main symptoms are:

Nausea, vomiting, pain on the right under the ribs - symptoms of gallstone inflection

  • pain under the ribs on the right side of the chest,
  • nausea,
  • vomit,
  • changes in skin color,
  • a sharp decrease in body weight,
  • loss of appetite,
  • allergy.

A bent organ will definitely make itself felt. Many factors accumulate and lead to complications, most often serious. One of the consequences may be biliary cirrhosis of the liver. If a child’s gallbladder is curved from birth, there is a high probability that there are pathologies in other areas of the body’s functioning. The most common are:

  • heart disease,
  • pathologies in the structure of the skull,
  • disorders in the structure of the spine,
  • malfunctions of the musculoskeletal system.

The acquired nature of the disease also provokes a large number of complications. Twisting of the organ leads to stagnation of bile and the formation of stones, thereby disrupting the digestion process and developing many diseases of the intestines, stomach, and liver.

In addition to the already described variants of organ deformation, there are also some less common ones. One of them is the labile bend. The gallbladder is twisted in such a way that it can rotate. Wrapping an organ most often occurs as a result of some kind of physical activity and can only temporarily change its shape.

There is also a double bend of the gallbladder, or S-shaped. It occurs in the neck or body area. Deformed in this way, it becomes hook-shaped.

Causes of inflection

Congenital bending of the gallbladder in a child develops in the womb at 2-3 months of pregnancy. The reasons may be the following factors:

  • smoking,
  • alcohol consumption,
  • unsuitable ecology,
  • taking medications,
  • limited physical activity,
  • infectious diseases.

The cause of the development of a bend in the gallbladder in a child may be smoking and alcohol consumption by the mother.

There is also a possibility that the pathology will be transmitted hereditarily from the mother. During pregnancy, an infection may occur that can harm the process of formation of the internal organ system. During pregnancy, the mother also runs the risk of gallbladder deformation. As body weight increases, the uterus enlarges, which puts pressure on the internal organs, resulting in a change in their shape. Another cause of congenital pathology can be the incorrect process of feeding a child. When switching from breast milk to other types of food, a bend in the gallbladder can sometimes occur. This happens because the organ begins to stretch and by the age of 3-4 years it becomes curved.

The acquired nature of the disease in children most often appears due to poor nutrition. For example, when you are with your child for a long time on a walk or on other errands outside the home, there is no way to eat on time. Then, upon coming home, children often overeat heavily. Sometimes to such an extent that they cannot even breathe fully. During this time, the following processes can occur in the body:

  • with prolonged fasting, there is no outflow of bile due to the lack of need for it,
  • after eating a large meal, the stomach becomes irregularly shaped and puts pressure on the gastrointestinal tract,
  • With further food intake, the outflow of bile is disrupted.

Symptoms

The bending of the gallbladder in children can be asymptomatic up to a certain point, but it can also make itself felt by the manifestation of symptoms. To a greater extent, signs of gallbladder bending appear between the ages of one and five years. Main symptoms:

  • attacks of nausea and vomiting during and after meals,
  • sharp pain in the abdomen and side,
  • sleep disturbance,
  • change in normal skin tone,
  • fluctuations in body temperature.

A fixed bend will definitely make itself felt, most often expressed in the form of the indicated signs. If a child has a bend in the gallbladder in the fundus, the main symptom will be pain in the left side of the abdomen or in the center. It is necessary to pay attention to how the baby behaves; if his stomach hurts, he will be constantly irritated, and it is quite possible that he will not sleep enough. Problems with the gallbladder at this age definitely cannot be acquired. Only a doctor can diagnose a congenital pathology based on the symptoms and prescribe treatment, and a visit to whom should not be postponed under any circumstances.

What is the danger of a bent gallbladder in a child?

A bend of the gallbladder in a child is most dangerous due to the development of new pathologies, and can also stop the full development of the baby. In children under 3 years of age, the body is not yet able to fully resist the progressive disease, so therapy and observation by a doctor will be extremely necessary. Complications that are caused by a bend in the gallbladder in a child:

  • liver diseases,
  • digestive disorders, which can result in diseases of this part of the body,
  • pathology of skeletal bones.

Treatment

First of all, you need to change the child’s diet to that recommended by the doctor.

The doctor prescribes treatment for a bent gallbladder after an examination and it depends on the degree of development of the pathology and most often individually for each patient. A bend detected in a child at an early stage is most often treated prophylactically, observing how the body adapts to existing conditions. What you need to do first is to change your diet to what your doctor recommends. This approach will facilitate the work of the liver and gallbladder, which means that the less load on the deformed organ, the better. The treatment method will be mainly aimed at increasing the tone of the body and its ability to function fully. A specialist will treat with medications or surgical intervention only in the most serious cases.

Drug therapy

The method, which involves treatment with tablets, is designed to eliminate symptoms, strengthen the immune system and help the child avoid surgery to remove an organ. Medicines will help relieve attacks of nausea and vomiting, reduce the intensity of abdominal pain and eliminate acute manifestations of pathology. The use of a drug such as “Hofitol” will be very effective when bending the gallbladder, which will become a catalyst for the complete outflow of bile.

In some cases, when the course of the disease resolves against the background of inflammation, antibiotics are prescribed. Traditional medicine can be beneficial in certain situations, but treatment by this method must be agreed with a doctor.

Diet is the key to quick recovery

Excluding foods harmful to the body from the diet and proper nutrition can support the functioning of the gallbladder and improve the general condition of the body. What should you avoid first:

  • fried and fatty foods,
  • dishes containing a large amount of spices,
  • spicy food,
  • coffee.

You can saturate your body with useful substances by using foods such as pumpkin. It is possible to prepare a lot of dishes from it, and also use the seeds of the fruit, which are also very healthy. Diet implies not only the consumption of certain foods or the exclusion of harmful ones, but also the correct diet. You need to eat 5-6 times a day, preferably in small portions.

The famous pediatrician Komarovsky recommends treating the bending of the gallbladder in a child by influencing the causes of the disease. The causes of cholecystitis lie in disruption of the biliary tract. The disease can also be a consequence of increased physical activity, sleep or eating disorders. Thus, treatment will be prescribed not only to relieve symptoms, but also to eliminate the reasons why the channels cannot fully fulfill their purpose.

What to do if a child has a deformed gallbladder.

When the baby is one month old, the doctor and local nurse stop visiting you at home for examination. From the age of one month, you will have to visit the clinic yourself on a specially designated day for this - Healthy Child Day (usually Tuesday). After the first examination at the clinic, the pediatrician gives a referral for an ultrasound examination of the baby’s internal organs. It would seem, what could be wrong? But reading the ultrasound report, you see diagnosis of gallbladder inflection. What kind of illness is this? For what reasons does it occur and does it need to be treated?

To begin with, stay calm and don't panic. Bend of the gallbladder in a child- a fairly common phenomenon; it is, first of all, an individual feature (it should not be confused with pathology or a developmental defect). A bend in the gallbladder does not cause any discomfort to the child and does not require targeted treatment, much less surgical intervention.

Let's remember a little anatomy to understand the essence of this problem. The gallbladder in humans is located on the lower wall of the liver. It distinguishes between the neck, bottom and body. The bottom of the gallbladder is located in front, its body smoothly passes into a narrow neck, which goes back and upward. The bile (or cystic) duct departs from the cervix. In infants, a healthy gallbladder has a spindle-like shape, and as the child grows and develops, it takes on a pear-shaped or funnel-shaped shape. But kinks in the gallbladder often occur, as a result of which its shape changes. In most cases, the bend occurs at the border of the body and the bottom of the gallbladder. Sometimes there are several kinks at once, as a result of which the gallbladder takes on very unusual shapes (for example, a boomerang or an hourglass).

A bend in the gallbladder in a child can also be congenital. A child who has already been born with a bend will most likely live with this small defect throughout his life. But since the gallbladder is a muscular organ, its bend can be labile (unstable). And the very next ultrasound examination in this case may show that there is no trace left of the diagnosis that frightens you.

Is there any danger for a child if the gallbladder is bent? The gallbladder constantly stores bile, which is produced by the liver. And bile enters the intestines precisely at the time when food enters the duodenum. If there is an inflection, then conditions may be created in which the normal outflow of bile is disrupted. With prolonged stagnation of bile, the activity of harmful microflora increases, and this can lead to the onset of inflammation of the gallbladder. It is important to note that this type of anomaly when the gallbladder is bent is uncommon. Basically, the cause of bile stagnation is bladder constriction, but that’s a completely different story...

How can a mother help her baby? What can be done so that the baby does not experience great discomfort associated with the special shape of the gallbladder? Exists the rule of three "W", which must be remembered. The following should be excluded from your child’s diet:

Roast;

The child's daily menu should include vegetables, fruits and dairy products. Prohibited below products:

Pork and lamb;

Carbonated drinks;

Fast food.

A child with a bend in the gallbladder needs to eat food five to six times a day in small portions. It is allowed to take infusions of choleretic herbs, which can be bought at a pharmacy (but only on the recommendation of a doctor).

If your child does not incessantly complain of abdominal pain, then be sure to contact an experienced gastroenterologist who will competently assess your problem and prescribe medication treatment, if necessary in your situation.
