The salt cave is necessary for the child. The whole truth about salt caves. Improves overall well-being

The saying that salt is white death is not always true. Salt can even become very useful. For example, if it is in a salt cave. Salt caves (rooms) are starting to gain more and more popularity every year.

Need to know! SALINE- this is what salt includes. For example, saline solution. SALT is what is made of salt. For example, salt mines. Thus, we should say salt rooms and salt caves, since for their manufacture pure rock salt is used, and the aerosol sprayed inside the salt room also consists of pure sodium chloride. Multi-layer salt coating(salt plaster) is one of the most important element in salt room microclimate.

Under such caves is meant a special room in which the floor, ceiling and walls are lined with blocks of salt. They are used for medicinal purposes. A person, being inside, inhales the air, which includes useful minerals. What effect on the body is in the salt cave? What is the benefit of this procedure and is there any harm?

Indications for visiting salt caves

Not everyone can visit salt rooms, but for some they become the main way to get rid of the disease. Doctors often prescribe halochamber visits to their patients as an alternative to medical treatment.

The procedures in the salt room are shown:

1. People suffering from frequent colds. If you visit the cave at the very initial stage of the disease, you can stop its development.
2. It is recommended to visit the salt caves for people with weakened immune systems, patients suffering from allergies.
3. It is useful to spend time in halochambers in case of any diseases of the respiratory organs. With the help of a salt room, as an addition to the main treatment, you can get rid of sinusitis and adenoids.
4. A good effect can be achieved in the treatment of any kind of dermatological lesions in the salt cave.
5. Rooms are useful as rehabilitation after suffering severe forms of the disease. They help to normalize the nervous system, improve brain activity.
6. With the help of a salt cave, you can even increase metabolism and lose weight. Procedures for weight correction are considered the most popular.

Salt caves for children

In pediatrics, the use of salt rooms is used very often in the complex treatment of bronchitis and other respiratory diseases. A visit to the cell can reduce the use of antibiotics, reduce the risk of developing allergies against the background of the disease.

In a salt cave, an imbalance in the vascular system of a teenager can be effectively treated. The relaxing effect that the cave has helps to reduce attacks of vegetovascular therapy.

Who is contraindicated in salt caves

Visiting the salt rooms has contraindications. It is not recommended to be in it for people with acute chronic diseases in the acute stage.

In addition, the list of diseases in which the procedure is prohibited includes:

1. Respiratory tract infections, such as tuberculosis.
2. Cardiovascular diseases of the last stage.
3. Mental illness.
4. Oncology, malignant tumors.
5. The presence of open and bleeding wounds.
6. Severe form of alcohol or drug addiction.
7. Diseases that are sexually transmitted.
8. It is not recommended to visit the salt chamber for women who are carrying a child. Although this procedure is very effective for early toxicosis.
9. Only after consulting a specialist is it possible to visit the cave for lactating women. And not only breastfeeding! Be sure to visit a doctor to visit the salt rooms.

What are the benefits of salt caves

The benefits of salt caves have been known since ancient times. Our ancestors visited natural caves with salt walls to recover from colds.

The ecological situation in our cities is far from perfect. Every day we breathe in a huge amount of harmful elements. This leads to a deterioration in immunity, problems with the nervous system, and the development of asthma. Salt caves and rooms come to the rescue here.

In Russia, natural salt caves are found only in the Perm region. Residents of other regions can use the services of halochambers or salt rooms.

How salt caves work

The main component in the rooms are saline aerosols, which are sprayed into the air. The ionic composition of the room favorably affects the functioning of the whole organism. Allergens and harmful bacteria are completely absent here. Particles of salt cleanse the respiratory tract to the very bronchi.

During a visit to the salt room in the human body, all metabolic processes improve. Toxic substances that can harm the body begin to be released from the body.

The composition of aerosols may include salts of different composition, which affect the body in different ways:

1. Salts containing iodine regulate the performance of the endocrine system, the thyroid gland.
2. Magnesium normalizes the work of the heart.
3. Potassium and sodium improve blood circulation.
4. Calcium monitors the strengthening of the defenses.
5. Manganese cleanses the body of toxins and harmful substances.
6. Selenium protects the body from the formation of malignant tumors.
7. Iron regulates the level of hemoglobin in the blood.
8. Copper eliminates disorders that could arise due to metabolic disorders.

Salt caves can be used both to eliminate existing diseases and for preventive purposes.

When visiting salt caves/rooms, certain features must be observed when visiting it. You can not carry out the procedure if:

1. Diseases of the bronchi are in the acute stage.
2. The person has a high temperature.
3. General poisoning of the body.
4. Tuberculosis at any stage. It is forbidden to visit the cell even with a residual form of the disease.

Many are afraid of the exacerbation of the disease, which can be caused by a visit to the halochamber. For example, a person develops a strong cough after the second procedure. This is not considered a pathology and refers to a normal phenomenon. Salt spray has the effect of thinning sputum that has stagnated in the respiratory tract. There are cases when an exacerbation begins to appear after the first visit to the cell. Most often this occurs in children, as their respiratory system is very susceptible to changes.

By the middle of treatment, the symptoms decrease and disappear completely. If they do not go away, and the condition only worsens, it is necessary to inform the attending physician about this. Perhaps the patient has an individual intolerance to salt chambers.

Most often, a runny nose appears as an exacerbation. Rhinitis may begin at the first procedure. In children, it manifests itself much more intensely due to the narrow nasal passages.

In the first days, the patient may experience an increase in temperature. This is due to the fact that the body begins to fight chronic latent infections.

All manifestations and changes must be reported to the doctor.

What you need to know when visiting a salt cave

At what stage of the disease development is halotherapy indicated? Halotherapy is recommended to be used at the time of decreasing exacerbation and incomplete remission of the disease in patients with chronic bronchopulmonary pathologies. In order to prevent exacerbations, the method is also used during periods of stable remission.

What do you need to bring with you when going to the salt cave? Everything you need to visit her - sheets and blankets, shoe covers and hats - is issued by a medical institution, so you do not need to bring anything with you.

What is the best clothing to wear for a treatment session? Clothing can be anything, as long as it is comfortable. It is advisable not to use black clothes. In the process of treatment, fine salt may get on the clothes; at the end of the session, the salt is easily shaken off with a brush.

At what age is it allowed to take salt procedures? You can start visiting the caves no earlier than 1 year. Infants of an earlier age can be brought into the salt room only 10-15 minutes before the end of the adult session.

Loose, breathable clothing should be worn;
- It is forbidden to use perfumes or other substances that leave persistent odors before the session;
-Before visiting the salt cave, it is better to remove all jewelry and make-up. In the presence of skin diseases, this condition is mandatory;
-After 2-3 hours after the end of the session, you can not take water procedures. And if you want to drink, then you can drink water no earlier than after 20 minutes.
-It is recommended not to smoke 30 minutes before the session and 2 hours after it.
- During the treatment, parents accompanying children should ensure that salt particles do not get into the mouth or eyes of the child. After the session, it is necessary to wash the child's face and hands.
-If halotherapy is aimed at combating diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses, then you need to breathe in a salt cave with your nose. If treatment is required in the pharynx, larynx, trachea or bronchi, then you need to take a slow deep breath, then hold your breath for a few seconds, after which the same slow exhalation should follow.
-There is no need to be afraid if you have bronchial asthma or chronic bronchitis and after the first halotherapy procedures, you feel some deterioration in your condition - asthmatic attacks have become more frequent, coughing and dry wheezing in the lungs have increased, their patency has decreased. Literally in a matter of days, everything will change and a noticeable improvement will come.

The course of treatment consists of 10-20 procedures that need to be done daily or every other day.

Health 23.03.2017

Dear readers, today I want to tell you about salt caves. Probably many have heard of them. But in my mind, a salt cave has always been something significant, namely a cave where you can walk around, wander around, see a lot of interesting things. But it turns out that there are simpler forms of it. And it would probably be more correct to say that we will talk about salt rooms.

My acquaintance with the salt room in our city took place very unexpectedly. This summer I went to a wellness massage course. And then suddenly I saw an advertising sign. The content was something like this: “Do you want to relax and gain health? Come to us! One session in a salt cave is equal to 3 days by the sea.” And I wanted sea air so much…☺ that I could not resist and decided to see what kind of cave it is in our city, how everything goes, and how it can be good for health.

The sessions made me happy. It is difficult to assess the merits in the full sense of the word (what happened BEFORE and AFTER), I went there more to maintain immunity and for a sea mood, but let's talk about the possible benefits of salt caves, salt rooms for our health. I hope that it will be interesting and useful for you to learn everything for yourself, and especially for your children and grandchildren.

It can be as an alternative to a trip to the sea for those who do not have such an opportunity, as well as an addition to sea wellness already at home. Everyone who has experienced the beneficial effects of sea air saturated with salt aerosols remembers that we are literally reborn by the sea, our body is cleansed, and there is no trace of stress and fatigue.

And now speleotherapy and halotherapy are becoming more and more popular. In fact, these are similar methods of healing with salt, only the word "speleo" means the microclimate of natural caves, which still exist in various regions of the world and are in great demand.

Such rooms imitate natural conditions, they are called speleochambers or halochambers, they maintain a constant temperature and humidity all year round, the air is devoid of allergens, bacteria and dust. There is a salt room in almost every major city and you can significantly improve your health without going to the sea or to a sanatorium.

The principle of operation of an artificial salt cave

In speleological chambers, the walls are most often lined with salt blocks cut from real salt caves, and such salt chambers are not common. Halochambers are widely used, this is a room, on the walls and floor of which a salt coating is applied, imitating the walls of a real cave and playing a rather decorative role.

For these purposes, table salt sodium chloride is used, sometimes potassium and magnesium salts are added to it. Many sanatoriums and health centers use sea salt, which contains sodium, iodine, chlorine, magnesium, calcium, and potassium ions.

The heart of such a cave is a halogenerator, which sprays salt particles inside the salt room that do not exceed 5 microns in size. This finely dispersed aerosol is the main therapeutic component in halochambers.

The benefit of the salt room is that the particles of the sprayed aerosol are so small that they can penetrate deep into the respiratory tract, killing pathogens and thinning sputum. Salt particles settle on the skin, penetrating into its layers, providing a cleansing and anti-inflammatory effect. The room is maintained at a constant temperature and humidity, before each session, special devices purify the air from possible microorganisms.

How does a halotherapy session work?

Salt rooms are arranged so that people sit in deck chairs or lie on comfortable sunbeds. The atmosphere in such rooms is created as comfortable as possible, soft music plays. The children's corner is full of toys, many rooms are equipped with TVs. Special colored lamps illuminate the room, creating unusual lighting effects.

The session is very easy. Before entering the room, an employee of the institution may offer to take off his shoes and some of his clothes and put on a disposable gown and shoe covers or wrap himself in a sheet. A person does not experience any discomfort in halochambers, since the room has sufficient volume and even people suffering from claustrophobia calmly endure salt treatment sessions. All those who have been treated in a salt cave leave only positive reviews.

I had sessions in a very spacious room, there were very few people. Quiet music with the sounds of nature sounded, the rest is relaxing, pleasant - in a word, you can have a great rest and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The time of the session varies from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the indications and the arrangement of the salt room. At this time, you can do special breathing exercises, which the instructor introduces, but most often adults relax and even fall asleep.

The salt room is quite cold (at least for me). So it is better to take socks with you, especially if you go with children.

After the session, we were always offered to drink an additional oxygen cocktail, which was also nice. You don't often find it in our city.

Of course, I talked to those who went to the sessions, asked their opinions about the salt rooms, because many, as it turned out, went there in the system. The mothers said that they were very happy for the children. This was especially true for frequently ill children who go to kindergartens. Many people go there with ENT problems. And they also feel a significant improvement.

How many sessions do you need

It is recommended to have at least 10 halotherapy sessions daily or every other day. Such a course is the most optimal, during this time the body is cleansed of toxins and allergens, cell renewal occurs, the immune system is rebuilt, metabolism improves, skin condition improves.

The price of visiting the salt room is quite small. For reference, I will write the prices here, in Yaroslavl.

One-time payment for a session for adults is 300 rubles. Children under 7 accompanied by an adult are free.
For pensioners, a one-time visit costs 210 rubles.
It costs even less if you buy a subscription for 10 sessions.
A daily subscription costs 1400 rubles.
Regular subscription (including evenings and weekends) - 1750 rubles.
Pensioners get a discount of 300 rubles from this amount.

Salt cave. Indications and contraindications

The microclimate of a salt cave is useful for almost everyone, with the exception of absolute contraindications, which we will discuss separately. For healthy people, halotherapy sessions will help improve well-being, relieve emotional stress, strengthen immunity, and serve as a prevention of respiratory viral diseases. Let's look at when and for what diseases salt treatment is indicated.

  • Often suffering from colds in adults and children;
  • In the presence of adenoids in children;
  • Adults and children with bronchial asthma in the early stages and in remission;
  • All diseases of the bronchi and lungs;
  • Diseases of ENT organs (chronic tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis);
  • Skin diseases (psoriasis, eczema, neurodermatitis, dermatitis);
  • Allergic diseases;
  • Hypertension at an early stage;
  • Recovery after a heart attack;
  • Diabetes;
  • chronic fatigue syndrome;
  • Depression;
  • Vegetative-vascular dystonia;
  • Excess weight;
  • Decreased immunity.

After undergoing therapy in salt rooms, the effect of their exposure lasts 6 months or more. Mood improves, efficiency is restored, people are less likely to get colds, the skin becomes cleaner and younger.

Salt cave benefits

The halotherapy procedure helps to remove toxins and allergens from the body, strengthens the immune system, normalizes the metabolism in the body, improves skin condition, oxygen metabolism. Let's take a closer look at how a salt cave is useful, what results can be achieved by visiting it regularly.

Before visiting the salt room, be sure to consult a doctor in order to exclude all contraindications and not harm the body.

Respiratory diseases

Frequent colds, recurring sinusitis, sinusitis, chronic tonsillitis are the most frequent companions of those people who undergo healing sessions in the salt room. Deep penetration of the smallest particles of salt aerosol into the respiratory tract miraculously cleanses them, killing bacteria, removing phlegm and mucus, strengthening the mucous membranes. After a course of halotherapy, people are less likely to get sick, as their immune system is strengthened.

With bronchial asthma, it is impossible to talk about treatment in a halochamber, the treatment of such a serious disease should be carried out under the supervision of a pulmonologist. Salt sprays are only an additional measure to the prescribed treatment and have a positive effect on the overall course of the disease. The mucous contents accumulating in the bronchi, under the influence of small particles of salt, which have a bactericidal property, are liquefied and easily excreted with a cough, the bronchi are cleared, the bronchial mucosa restores its function.

Nervous system

Comfortable conditions, complete relaxation, the absence of irritating factors in artificially created salt chambers have a positive effect on the state of the human nervous system. The consequences of stressful situations are removed, headaches disappear, blood pressure stabilizes, sleep improves, fears, irritation, fatigue disappear. After a course of halotherapy, a person feels a surge of vivacity, good mood, increased efficiency, resistance to stressful situations. The action of the halochamber lasts from several months to a year.

Metabolism

It is useful to undergo halotherapy sessions for people suffering from diabetes and other metabolic disorders. Salt aerosols start cleansing processes, improve metabolism, and regulate lipid metabolism. Of no small importance for overweight people is the fact that the salt room helps to cope with depression and control your appetite.

Allergic diseases

Reduced immunity affects many organs and systems, causing various diseases. Allergic diseases have become the scourge of modern man. Small children get sick, adults get sick, the elderly get sick. The microclimate of the halochambers is devoid of allergens and bacteria, it is saturated only with microelements, so breathing such air is useful for those suffering from allergies, no matter how it manifests itself.

Effect on the skin

It is impossible to overestimate the healing effect of salt aerosols on our skin, which begins to clear itself after just a few sessions of halotherapy. Any skin problems can be perfectly treated with salt. After visiting the salt cave, its noticeable rejuvenating effect is felt, the skin is tightened, the complexion improves, fine wrinkles are smoothed out.

Salt cave during pregnancy

Pregnancy is not a direct contraindication for visiting a salt cave, but during this important period for a woman and a future baby, all possible health risks must be excluded. Sessions of halotherapy can be carried out only according to indications and on the recommendation of a doctor who monitors the course of pregnancy.

The doctor may prescribe treatment in the halochamber in the presence of diseases of the nasopharynx or bronchi in order to reduce the harmful effects of drugs on the health of the child. Only a doctor is able to assess all the consequences of any therapy, so self-treatment in a salt cave during pregnancy is not permissible.

I suggest watching a video about the benefits and dangers of salt caves, reviews of a physiotherapist.

Salt cave. Indications and contraindications for children

Halotherapy sessions are very useful for children weakened by endless colds, if there are no contraindications. Usually, a halochamber is recommended for children older than one year in the following cases:

  • With a decrease in immunity, with frequent colds;
  • With the initial manifestations of asthma;
  • With adenoids, diseases of the throat and nose;
  • In the presence of allergic rhinitis;
  • Children with increased excitability;
  • For rehabilitation after fractures and injuries;
  • For non-infectious skin diseases.

The halochambers are equipped so that children do not get bored there, the kids play with toys, communicate with each other with pleasure, watch cartoons. Parents still need to monitor their behavior, so children without adult accompaniment are not allowed in the halochamber.

Known to people for a long time. Even our ancestors were treated in them themselves and treated their children. At present, salts continue to help a person. In many resorts, sanatoriums, as well as large cities, they are actively used for treatment. Let's find out what a salt cave is. Indications and contraindications will be dealt with later, and now let's talk a little about how it "works".

Treatment room action

Salt rooms are created artificially. To obtain the desired microclimate, special medical equipment is used. Thanks to him, the air is filled with salt aerosol particles. Throughout the treatment, its concentration is maintained. Aerosol has healing properties on the human body. In addition to the concentration of salt particles, the pressure, humidity and temperature necessary for the human body are maintained here. The room itself does not contain microorganisms and allergens. Comfortable chairs for patients make it possible to sit comfortably and receive. For children, play corners are equipped.

Indications for visiting the cave

So, you have decided that there is only one salvation from your illness - a salt cave. Indications and contraindications before visiting her should be studied. First, let's talk about those who would like to visit this treatment room. These include those who:

  • excess body weight;
  • disruption of the respiratory system;
  • violation of metabolic processes;
  • diseases of the cardiovascular system;
  • frequent colds;
  • work with constant stress and emotional tension;
  • diseases of the nervous system;
  • allergic rhinitis;
  • previously diagnosed with bronchitis or pneumonia;
  • found eczema;
  • oily seborrhea:
  • dermatitis.

After a treatment procedure called "Salt Cave", patients leave a variety of reviews. Some visiting this room completely helped to cope with asthma, while others, on the contrary, did not notice any changes. There are also patients who felt relief only after the last session. But they all agree on one thing: they had a good rest, relaxed and put the nervous system in order.

Salt cave and pregnancy

Expectant mothers often have the question of whether they can visit the room with salt. If there are no contraindications, which will be discussed below, then the salt cave must be visited. The room where the procedure is performed is enriched with useful elements that are so necessary for pregnant women.

The air here is saturated with salt ions, which enter the lungs, improve the functioning of the bronchi and suppress the vital activity of pathogenic organisms. It is the salt cave that brings relief to many pregnant women: the reviews of expectant mothers indicate that signs of toxicosis are disappearing.

It is impossible not to say about the benefits of visiting a treatment room for a baby, which positively affects his immune system, helps reduce the child's predisposition to viral infections and many other ailments. It is worth adding that almost all salt caves are equipped with everything necessary for children. The child can safely do his favorite thing in the play corner and at the same time breathe in the salts.

If you decide (meaning without consulting a specialist) that you need a salt cave, the indications and contraindications must be carefully studied. We have already talked about those who can visit this room, now let's talk about those who are not allowed to enter there. These include people with:

  • any disease in the acute stage;
  • chronic disease in an acute form;
  • cachexia;
  • malignant tumor;
  • frequent bleeding;
  • tuberculosis;
  • coronary insufficiency;
  • kidney disease;
  • emphysema;
  • hypertension of the second and third stages.

We strongly recommend that you consult with a specialist before the procedure. Many believe that doctors help improve health are not so optimistic. According to them, the only effect of the salt cave is psychological.

Remember

A one-time visit to the halochamber will not lead to a visible result. To achieve the expected effect, you need to undergo at least one course of treatment. It consists of ten sessions of thirty or forty minutes. It is worth talking about the cost of the "Salt Cave" service. The price per session varies from 190 to 300 rubles, and a subscription for ten visits will cost you from 1500 to 2800 rubles. For those who urgently need a salt cave, the price is an important factor. Please note that if you buy a ticket for each session, it will cost more than a subscription. If you are lucky and the doctor writes out a referral, the treatment will be free. True, there are very few such caves left, almost all of them work on a commercial basis.

Afterword

To recover with the help of a halochamber or not - decide for yourself. If you are sure that you need a salt cave, the indications and contraindications must be studied very carefully! But it is better to consult with your doctor.

Now it is very fashionable to go to salt caves. The main clients are parents who are already desperate to treat their child with medicines, and those who remember this type of physiotherapy from Soviet times. Salt caves are really popular today. They can be found not only at clinics, sanatoriums and health centers, but also at some private and public schools and kindergartens, and sometimes they are found even in ordinary beauty salons. But whether they are actually effective is a big question for many.

Two kinds

In medical language, salt caves are called halochambers. "Halo" means "salt" in Greek. There is another kind of "salt" therapy - speleotherapy. The principle of their work is the same: the therapeutic effect is achieved through exposure to an artificially created microclimate, more precisely, air, which is specially enriched with salt vapor. But there are still differences. The speleological chamber is a room, the walls and floor of which are lined with natural material sylvinite. These are thousand-year-old deposits taken from the bottom of the ancient Perm Sea. Sylvinite itself is a mineral of complex composition: it contains magnesium, potassium, and calcium. The essence of the method is that the patient, while in the speleochamber, simply inhales the air saturated with useful salts. In a calm atmosphere, preferably in a relaxed position, sitting or lying on the couch, with relaxing music or sounds of nature. Speleological chambers, as you might guess, are a direct prototype of natural salt mines, where, until not so long ago, our ancestors descended to “recover themselves”. Halochamber is the most modern and progressive method of "salt" therapy. Instead of sylvinite layers, a halogenerator is used here - a special device that sprays a dry sodium chloride aerosol. There is also a more targeted version of it, when the patient uses an individual halo inhaler and inhales dry salt spray through a mask. If we compare both types of "salt" therapy, halochambers have a more active effect than speleochambers, and their effect is higher.

Who can

The main indications are inflammatory (including chronic) diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract: pharyngitis, tracheitis, laryngitis, etc. But only in the remission stage: during exacerbations, and even more so at elevated temperatures, "salt" therapy is contraindicated. Very well, these both types of therapy help with a wet cough. Salt vapors have a powerful mucolytic effect, due to which sputum liquefies faster and is excreted from the body. Also, speleo- and halotherapy is prescribed for some allergic conditions, for example, for hay fever. As in the case of diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract, with allergies, mucosal edema is also observed, and salt vapor removes it well. However, you can start a course of treatment only after consulting a doctor. The specialist should assess the patient's condition, because with an atrophic mucosa, that is, with a prolonged dry cough, a high concentration of salt aerosols in the air can provoke deterioration.

Degree of efficiency

But the most important plus of halo- and speleotherapy is the achievement of a long-term therapeutic result. It has been scientifically proven that after visiting the salt caves, the combat capability of immunoglobulins improves - protective cells that protect the mucous membranes of the mouth and nose from viruses and harmful bacteria. Clinical experiments have already confirmed that in schoolchildren who fell ill on average at least 10 times a year, after undergoing a course of halotherapy, the risk of respiratory diseases is reduced by 2 times. This is evidenced by the results of swabs from the pharynx and from the mucous membrane before and after the start of the experiment. So, scientists have found that thanks to the "salt" therapy, the pathogenic flora is sharply reduced, and harmful microorganisms are noticeably weakened. However, this effect is not achieved immediately and subject to several conditions.

Terms of use

  1. To begin with, it is important to choose the "right" halo - or speleocamera. In order to offer such a wellness service to patients, the institution you are applying to must have a license to conduct physical therapy activities. This is a key point and should not be neglected. If only because if you violate the sanitary regime, both you and your child can become infected from other visitors. Remember that not everyone has heard about the rules for visiting salt caves, and everywhere there are parents who bring children there in the active stage of the disease. Given the seriousness of the situation, ideally, you should contact specialized medical institutions - clinics, sanatoriums, health centers.
  2. If the doctor has prescribed you a course of halotherapy, it is better not to interrupt it. You can go to the cave every day or every other day. You can take a break for the weekend.
  3. Adults and children are usually prescribed a course of 10 sessions, and kids from 3 to 5 years old need 8 visits.
  4. It is quite enough to spend 30 minutes in a salt cave, but more is possible.
  5. During the session, it is advisable to sit quietly or even lie on the couch. If you are going to a cave with a small child, take a book with you and try to keep him busy reading. An active toddler can be seated behind toys, but warn him in advance that neither running nor jumping is allowed in this place.
  6. As with any inhalation therapy, it is important to avoid extreme temperature contrasts. This means that in the cold season, especially in winter in frosts, you should come early and sit in the corridor for about 20 minutes before entering the salt cave. Then the body and the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract will have time to adapt to room temperature. After the session, it is also advisable to wait at least 15 minutes before going outside.
  7. It is also not worth going to the salt cave immediately after lunch. The diaphragm, our main respiratory muscle, is more difficult to work after eating.
  8. The ideal temperature for speleo- and halochambers is considered to be 18-20º C. Be prepared for the fact that it will be quite cool in the cave.
