Grippostad rhino nasal drops instructions. Directory of medicines. Release form, composition and packaging

Grippostad Reno used as a decongestant for acute, infectious, allergic (vasomotor) rhinitis. Xylometazoline, an imidazoline derivative, is an alpha2-adrenergic mimetic agent. Its vasoconstrictive effect causes the removal of congestion in the nasal mucosa. The onset of action is usually observed after 5 - 10 minutes: nasal breathing is facilitated by reducing mucosal congestion and improving secretion drainage.
Xylometazoline is an imidazoline derivative, an α-adrenergic sympathomimetic. Directly stimulates α-adrenergic receptors and constricts blood vessels. When applied topically, it reduces swelling of the nasopharyngeal mucosa and hyperemia. Restores the patency of the nasal passages and facilitates nasal breathing by decongesting the mucous membrane and improving the drainage of secretions.
The drug begins to act within 5-10 minutes and the effect lasts for several hours (on average 6-8 hours).
When used intranasally, the amount of the drug that is absorbed can sometimes be sufficient to develop systemic effects, for example, on the central nervous system and the cardiovascular system.

Indications for use
Grippostad Reno spray indicated for acute rhinitis of any etiology, including infectious, allergic (vasomotor) rhinitis.
Grippostad Rino 0.1% drops for adults and the spray is intended for adults and school-age children.
Drops for children 0.05% Designed for children 2 - 6 years of age.

Mode of application:
Adults and school-age children - 1-2 Grippostad Reno drops or 1 full pump into each nostril up to three times a day as needed.
For children 2 - 6 years of age, drops for children 0.5% are dripped 1 - 2 drops into each nasal passage three times a day if necessary.
Duration of use - no more than 3-5 days.

Side effects:
Respiratory system Grippostad Reno may, especially in sensitive patients, cause a temporary, mild burning sensation or dryness of the nasal mucosa. There are reports of transient swelling (reactive hyperemia) of the nasal mucosa after the cessation of the effect of xylometazoline. Long-term, frequent and/or use of xylometazoline in high doses can cause burning and dryness of the nasal mucosa, as well as reactive edema with drug-induced rhinitis.

This effect can be observed only after 5 - 7 days of therapy with continuous use of the drug. Nervous system Rare cases of headache, insomnia or fatigue have been observed. Cardiovascular system Local intranasal use may, in extremely rare cases, lead to systemic sympathomimetic effects such as palpitations, increased pulse rate or increased blood pressure. Effects on the ability to drive machines and vehicles Long-term, frequent and/or high-dose use of drugs containing xylometazoline, as a rule, does not have an effect on the nervous system. If this is observed, the ability to drive a car or operate machinery may be impaired.

Contraindications
Grippostad Reno should not be used in patients with: hypersensitivity to any ingredient of Grippostad Rino; atrophic rhinitis.
Grippostad Rino (drops for adults) and spray should not be used in children under 6 years of age. Grippostad Rino contains benzalkonium chloride and should therefore not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to this preservative.
Grippostad Rhino should only be used after a thorough assessment of the pros and cons of the possible risks in: patients receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or other drugs that potentially increase blood pressure; patients with glaucoma, narrow-angle glaucoma; patients with various cardiovascular diseases (for example, coronary heart disease, arterial hypertension); patients with pheochromocytoma; patients with metabolic diseases (for example, hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus).

Pregnancy:
It is not recommended to prescribe Grippostad Reno during pregnancy due to the lack of reliable clinical data confirming the safety of the drug during this period.
It has not been established whether xylometazoline is excreted in breast milk, therefore the use of the drug during lactation (breastfeeding) is not recommended.

Interaction with other drugs:
Sharing the drug Grippostad Reno with tricyclic MAO inhibitors may, due to the cardiovascular effects of these drugs, lead to an increase in blood pressure.

Overdose:
Symptoms of drug overdose Grippostad Reno or accidental ingestion: nausea, vomiting, cyanosis, fever, convulsions, tachycardia, arrhythmias, collapse, cardiac arrest, arterial hypertension, pulmonary edema, respiratory failure, mental disorders, depression of central nervous system function, drowsiness, decreased body temperature, bradycardia, coma.
Treatment: activated carbon, gastric lavage, oxygen; if necessary, phentolamine (5 mg intravenously with saline or 100 mg orally); carrying out symptomatic (including anticonvulsant) therapy.

Storage conditions:
Store in a dry place, protected from light, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.

Release form:
Grippostad Reno spray for nasal use 0.1%: in bottles with a sprayer of 10 ml;
Grippostad Rhino drops nasal 0.1%: in bottles with a pipette cap 10 ml.
Grippostad Rhino drops nasal for children 0.05% : in bottles with a pipette cap 10 ml.

Compound:
Grippostad Reno spray for nasal use 0.1%: 1 ml of spray contains xylometazoline hydrochloride 1 mg, benzalkonium chloride (50% solution) 0.4 mg;
Grippostad Rino nasal drops 0.1%: 1 ml drops contains xylometazoline hydrochloride 1 mg, benzalkonium chloride (50% solution) 0.4 mg;
Grippostad Rino nasal drops for children 0.05%: 1 ml drops contains xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.5 mg, benzalkonium chloride (50% solution) 0.4 mg;
excipients: citric acid monohydrate - 0.5 mg, sodium citrate 2H2O - 2.6 mg, glycerin 85% - 24.0 mg, purified water - 976.5 mg.

Additionally:
Sympathomimetic decongestants may cause reactive hyperemia of the nasal mucosa, especially after prolonged use and overdose. These congestion may be accompanied by a narrowing of the airways and simulate the symptoms of a runny nose, which leads to repeated or even chronic use of Grippostad Reno by patients. This, in turn, can lead to chronic swelling of the nasal mucosa (drug-induced rhinitis), causing atrophy of the nasal mucosa.

Overdose

Grippostad® C Grippostad® Symptoms: (caused by paracetamol): pale skin, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting; hepatonecrosis (the severity of necrosis due to intoxication directly depends on the degree of overdose). Toxic effects in adults are possible after taking more than 10-15 g of paracetamol. Treatment: administration of SH-group donors and glutathione-methionine precursors - 8-9 hours after an overdose and N-acetylcysteine - after 12 hours. The need for additional therapeutic measures ( further administration of methionine, intravenous administration of N-acetylcysteine) is determined depending on the concentration of paracetamol in the blood, as well as on the time elapsed after its administration.
