Children's Health Center on Lomonosovsky Prospekt phone. Scientific Center for Children's Health of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, Federal State Budgetary Institution (Research Institute of Pediatrics, Rehabilitation Center, CDC). VTB Medical Insurance LLC

Children's Health Center on Lomonosovsky - a leading pediatric research center. The center is engaged in practical and research activities aimed at treating difficult diseases, developing new methods for the early development of children, and much more.

Story

The Russian Academy of Medical Sciences traces its history back to the 18th century, when a "hospital for children" was founded, which worked at an orphanage organized by Empress Catherine II. After the October events of 1917, the institution acquired the name "Baby Guard House". On its basis, in 1922, the Scientific Institute was opened, which dealt with the problems of motherhood and childhood.

Through the efforts of the first doctors, the Baby House and obstetric institution were united into a single medical structure, laboratories and scientific departments were opened. With the development of the institution came the need to give it a new status, where attention was paid not only to practice, but also to research. This is how the Institute of Pediatrics appeared with departments, laboratories, methodological developments, and educational units.

In 1941, the institute was evacuated to Sverdlovsk, where methods of combating dystrophy and its complications were being developed, substitutes for natural milk were being searched for, and much more. The return to Moscow took place in 1943, and in 1945 the institute became part of the Academy of Medical Sciences. The research institute began in the field of nervous and mental pathologies, and a department was created to study the possibilities of early development and upbringing of children.

In 1962, the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences received the building where it is located today. The new premises gave rise to the development of scientific thought - new divisions and directions of scientific activity appeared, and practical work intensified. To deepen scientific research, departments of nephrology, allergology, gastroenterology, exercise therapy, surgery and many others were organized. Most of the directions were developed for the first time in the history of the USSR.

In 1992, the Health Center on Lomonosovsky received the status of a research institute of pediatrics of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences and a few years later became part of the Scientific Center for Children's Health of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. Research and practical activities here continue to develop at the forefront of science, today new directions have been opened - genetic research, the study of metabolic diseases, the use of high-tech medicine to treat complex diseases, and much more.

The service is available to every citizen of the Russian Federation. The Consultative and Diagnostic Center of the Research Institute of Pediatrics opens appointments from 09:00 to 20:00 on weekdays, weekends - from 10:00 to 16:00. The inpatient department accepts children for treatment upon referral from a doctor from the consultation and diagnostic department.

  • Otolaryngology, surgery (including emergency), emergency pediatrics.
  • Physiotherapy, exercise therapy, vaccine prophylaxis.

Vaccination

The debate about the use of preventive vaccination is ongoing with great fervor. Many parents oppose such a step, arguing that modern drugs destroy the child’s immune system, give examples of high mortality from vaccinations, and point out complications caused by the use of certain drugs. It is unreasonable to discount the possible consequences, but the lack of vaccinations in a child will lead to one outcome - a serious illness and the creation of preconditions for an epidemic.

Experts say that modern drugs are certified and tested many times, and possible side effects are minimized. Doctors strongly advise routine vaccination of children after preliminary consultation with a specialist, which will help avoid consequences and preserve the child’s health not only in childhood, but for the rest of his life.

The clinic implements a program of preventive vaccination against infectious diseases:

  • Flu, tetanus, polio, mumps.
  • Rubella, diphtheria, hepatitis B.
  • Whooping cough, tuberculosis, measles, diphtheria.
  • Pneumococcal, hemophilic infection (according to indications).

Positive reviews

According to parents' reviews, the Scientific Center for Children's Health of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences on Lomonosovsky Prospekt provides invaluable assistance in the most severe cases. It is indicated that specialists from other children's medical institutions recommend going here in cases where the chances of successful treatment or surgery are negligible, and almost always the doctors of the Children's Health Center manage to achieve victory over the disease. Visitors left words of sincere gratitude to surgeons, pediatricians, neurologists and other doctors for the restored children's health.

According to the parents, the hospital stay is quite comfortable: three free dietary meals a day, washing machines in the sanitary room, a shared hygiene room. The orderlies and nurses are polite and perform their duties well. The rooms are designed for four children and their mothers. Sometimes there are not enough places, and then mothers have to sleep in the same bed with their children, which is not very convenient, but many are ready for this situation.

A large number of good reviews were left for the consultative and diagnostic department of the Pediatrics Research Institute. Visitors said that only here they were able to receive an accurate diagnosis of the child’s illness and adequate effective treatment.

Negative reviews

Some visitors left negative opinions about the work of the departments of the Scientific Center for Diagnostics of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. Reviews with negative ratings indicate the slow work of the hospital, where sometimes you have to wait for several hours for registration. Parents talk about the rudeness and inattention of some doctors and medical staff. There are complaints about careless treatment of the child. There are cases when a specialist does not answer parents’ questions about the diagnosis.

For those who received treatment on a commercial basis, the prices for services seemed inflated. But most of the reviews on the work of the clinic, the professionalism of the doctors, the conditions of stay and the quality of service are positive.

The history of the National Medical Research Center for Children's Health dates back to the mid-18th century. It began to function as a “hospital for children” at the Imperial Moscow Orphanage on the basis of the Manifesto of Catherine II of September 1, 1763. The Orphanage was transformed into a House for the Protection of Infants in 1918, and then into the State Scientific Institute for the Protection of Motherhood and Infancy (1923) . The institution, already as a research institute of pediatrics in 1945, became part of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences. In 1998, through the merger of the Research Institute of Pediatrics and the Research Institute of Hygiene and Children's Health, the Scientific Center for Children's Health of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences was created. Now the Center is more than 255 years old.

Since 2015, the Center has become subordinate to the Russian Ministry of Health. Our hospitalization at the Scientific Center for Children's Health (SCCH RAMS), which is simply called the Research Institute of Pediatrics on Lomonosovsky Prospekt (not to be confused with the Research Institute of Pediatrics on Taldomskaya), recently ended. Continuing the tradition, I am writing my review about this establishment so that everyone who is going there can clarify the picture a little. Naturally, our review is subjective, but there is no other way. And we were examined as part of a day hospital, this is when you don’t lie in bed around the clock, but simply go there every day for various specialist appointments, examinations and classes, that is, a bed is not provided.

I hope a little later, on this blog we will also post our impressions about rehabilitation in China, about classes in Montenegro, and about other centers where cerebral palsy is treated. In the sense that now we will travel only for Yegor, and in fact we have already started, because we spent 3 months in Thailand.

Types of hospitals, quota

You can get to the Institute of Pediatrics in Moscow either for a fee or for free. We got in for free under the quota (). As far as I know, no more than two quotas per year are possible. Wait in line from 0 months to six months, depending on your luck. I don’t know the price for a paid stay, they write on the Internet that it’s about 2-3 thousand per day for a 24-hour hospital, but it seems to me that this cost depends on the specific case, because when I called there a year ago and found out about the infectious diseases department, They told me the total amount was 5800 rubles/day.

You can stay at the Scientific Center for Children's Hospital of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences on Lomonosovsky Prospekt in two formats: around the clock, or as a day hospital. The first one is more convenient, especially for people from other cities or those living far from the research institute, but getting there is more difficult. Otherwise, I think the difference is small, maybe I’ll just go to other doctors for appointments...

Infrastructure

In the rehabilitation center building on the ground floor there is a feeding room (there are high chairs there), where the child is given a small set of food, depending on the department to which you are assigned. In Neurology, small children are given 3 purees, kefir, cottage cheese, and juice. Parents can bring something with them; there is a microwave, refrigerator and water cooler. There is also a cafe (always empty), but it is only for employees.

Toilets are available on each floor and are quite decent. Just remember, the doors open inward and it's not obvious. I once stood there waiting for 10 minutes, but it turned out that I simply opened the door in the wrong direction. There is also this life hack: as a rule, the next door, not marked WC, is also a toilet, and since few people know about this, it is free there.

There is not much for children to do on the floor; the range of entertainment is very limited. But, if time allows, then it’s better to go outside and take a walk on the playgrounds, there are two of them. There are also benches in the trees and paths among the lawns.

You can move around inside the rehabilitation center with a stroller. It’s also possible at the CDC, but it’s a little more difficult, because I didn’t see an elevator between the first and second floors.

Visiting procedure

You should move around the buildings in replaceable shoes, but if you forgot, you will be given disposable slippers (shoe covers are not allowed). You can’t take them every time, they save money, so for 3 weeks I wore the ones they gave out the first time.

You come to the rehabilitation building (second floor), there is a day hospital registration. You will come there every day to pick up the technological map. In the first days, a schedule will be drawn up for you, and perhaps even on the first day someone will already have time to examine you. You will be guided by a resident, as well as an attending physician. It will be suggested to undergo examination and also rehabilitate. It was very difficult for us to combine this, so we mainly examined ourselves. People here are mostly satisfied with the rehabilitation, but the flow is large with all that it entails. There are massages, exercise therapy, physiotherapy, water treatments, classes with specialists (speech therapist, speech pathologist, teacher of the deaf), etc. As a rule, all measures are combined with drug therapy.

You are given 3 weeks (according to the quota) to do everything about everything; in principle, you must have time to complete all the research and analysis. Moreover, the doctor told us that if necessary, they would keep us for another week to finish. Some specialists will see you at a rehabilitation center, some at a CDC. You can move between buildings without going outside.
