Entrance test according to artist's skill aims to identify the applicant's acting talent in various pop genres, testing such qualities as intelligence, observation, humor, and sense of style. For the examination of the skill of a variety artist, the applicant must prepare for performance several literary works of various genres, including a fable, a poem, an excerpt from a prose work, and also demonstrate the ability to think in variety images. The applicant must be prepared to perform stage sketches on the instructions of the examination committee.

Exam in solo singing includes the performance of at least two vocal works (in Russian and foreign languages) using a minus soundtrack (CD!) and a microphone. Proficiency in one of the musical instruments is preferred. The applicant must be ready to perform musical and stage etudes on the instructions of the examination committee.

Interview reveals the professional qualities of the applicant, his cultural level, aesthetic views, erudition, public interests, and ability to navigate the main issues of modern artistic life. The topic of written work on directing can be a script for a variety performance or a mass performance and celebration, a script or production plan for an original number, speech, music, or other genres. In addition to knowledge of the basic laws of constructing a variety performance, mass performance or variety act, this work should demonstrate the specificity of the director's vision, imagination, and artistic taste.

Entrance test directing and artistry for directors includes a screening of director's sketches on a topic determined by the examination committee. In these sketches, the applicant should discover creative imagination, variety thinking, and the ability to organize stage space in the genres of a variety act, cabaret performance or show. Faculties of RATI GITIS

The structure of the famous university includes the following faculties:

Several areas of specialist training are offered on the basis of GITIS faculties. For example, on the basis of the choreographic department, applicants can gain knowledge in the field of choreographic art of ballet, operetta, folk dance, and figure skating. Faculty of Variety

In 1973, the Faculty of Variety Arts appeared at GITIS. Specialists in the field of pop directing and acting are trained there. Both full-time and part-time forms of study are available. The duration of the acting program is four years; to become a director, you need to study for 10 semesters. The department of pop art operates on the basis of the faculty.

Faculty of Scenography

It was founded in 1992 and is the youngest in the institute. The duration of study at the faculty is 5 years. On its basis there is only one department - scenography.

Upon completion of training, students can receive qualifications such as theater production designer, stage costume designer, puppet theater production designer. The direction of technology for artistic design of the performance is also available.

Ballet Department

The faculty in question trains choreographers for ballet theaters, operetta and choreographic groups, folk dance and pop ensembles, as well as figure skating choreographers. The duration of full-time study is 8 academic semesters; those wishing to enroll in part-time study should note that the duration of their study will be slightly longer - 4.5 years.

Directing department

The department offers applicants directions in the training of theater and circus directors, dramatic theater and film actors, and set designers. The main emphasis of education is the principles laid down by the great reformer, director K. S. Stanislavsky. Training at the faculty of RATI GITIS is carried out in 18 creative workshops. Among them is the workshop of A. S. Konchalovsky, A. V. Galibin, M. Z. Levitin and many others.

Acting department
