Apples baked in the oven. Four simple recipes for baking apples in the oven with filling. How to cook baked apples in the oven

Apples baked in the oven are a light, tasty and healthy dessert. One of the main advantages of this dish is the ease of its preparation. Even a novice housewife can achieve excellent results the first time.

How to bake apples in the oven Apples of the Simirenko and Antonovka varieties are best suited for baking. First you need to select apples that are similar in size and wash them thoroughly. Make a neat, narrow (no more than 1.5 cm in diameter) depression in each apple from the stem side. Once you reach the apple core, scoop it out along with the seeds. There is no need to go any further. And you shouldn’t make a through hole in the apple at all.

Once all the apples have been cored, decide what you will use to fill the hole. If you bake apples quickly, you can use granulated sugar or honey. Using a teaspoon, carefully fill the hole, but not to the very top, and not reaching 0.5-1 cm, since under the influence of high temperature the “filling” of the apple will increase in size and begin to flow out of it.

The baking sheet can be covered with foil. You can do without it by placing the apples at a distance of 1-2 cm from each other. Then send the future dessert to the oven. If desired, you can also place a bowl of water there.

If you are in doubt about how long to bake apples in the oven, then take into account, first of all, the size of the fruit. The smaller the apples, the less time it takes to bake them. Although most often medium and large sized apples are used for this dessert. Such fruits are placed in the oven, preheated to a temperature of 180-200 degrees, for 30-35 minutes.

After the specified time, the apples acquire amber transparency and the skin turns brown. The dessert can be removed from the stove. Place the apples on a large plate and lightly sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving.

The most delicious baked apple recipes
If your family loves this fruit, or your dacha has had a bumper crop, feel free to experiment with different varieties of apples and fillings for them.

Children really like oven-baked apples filled with a honey-curd mixture. For 100 grams of fatty cottage cheese, put 1 tablespoon of honey, mix well, add 1 tablespoon of washed and dried seedless raisins, mix again. You can add a little cinnamon if you like. If you decide to bake apples with this filling, keep in mind that the indentation in the apples needs to be much larger than in the case of honey and sugar. This is necessary so that the taste of the apple does not completely overwhelm the taste of cottage cheese with honey and raisins.

A truly festive dessert will be apples stuffed with dried fruits and nuts. For the filling you will need 100 grams of dried apricots, prunes, raisins, walnut kernels or almonds. Wash dried fruits, dry and cut into small pieces. Mash the nuts with a rolling pin or grind. Place everything in a bowl, pour in 3 tablespoons of honey, mix thoroughly. Place the filling in the wide cavities of the apples and bake.

Lovers of fruit and dairy desserts can please themselves with apples with sour cream filling. Mix sour cream with raisins, cinnamon or vanilla, add a little sugar or honey. The filling turns out to be quite liquid, so you shouldn’t put too much of it, otherwise it will ooze out of the apples in the oven.

Gourmets and lovers of savory notes in dessert highly appreciate baked apples with cranberries in orange glaze. Make holes in the apple preparations for the cranberries, removing the core. Prepare the glaze separately. To do this, take a glass of orange juice, add a tablespoon of granulated sugar, put on low heat, bring to a boil and boil, stirring, until the sugar is completely dissolved, but not less than 7 minutes. Let the juice cool to room temperature. Fill the cavity of each apple with cranberries and place half a teaspoon of honey on top. Pour the prepared orange juice over the apples and place in a hot oven. In addition to cranberries, you can use blueberries; they give a softer and more delicate taste.

It should brown to an amber color, and the fruits themselves should become soft to the touch.

The main thing is not to overheat the oven. If the temperature is set to the maximum, the apples will be overdried and the taste of the finished dish will suffer. The minimum temperature is also not suitable, they may not bake. This is especially true for large-sized fruits. Baking at 200 degrees will be considered optimal. The duration will be 30 minutes. Pour a pinch of vanilla sugar into each apple well and add honey (it can be completely replaced with sugar if you prefer.

Cover the baking dish with food foil, leaving large allowances for the sides.

How to prepare fruits

For baking, select several apples of the same size. Before cooking, use a sponge to thoroughly clean the peel of dirt and wax, which is sometimes used to cover the fruit to extend their shelf life.

After this, the core (seed box) of each apple is removed from the tail side, being careful not to damage the “bottom” with sepals, so that juice does not flow out of the fruit when baking. This can be done with a regular knife or a special one with a rounded blade.

Baking Features

Apples are often baked by placing them in a heat-resistant form. Some housewives add a little water into the mold or onto a baking sheet so that the flowing sweet juice forms marmalade at the bottom.

It’s better, of course, to lay down some foil so you don’t have to waste time cleaning the baking sheet.

You can wrap the fruits in foil or dough to prevent juice from leaking out.
