7. Qualification requirements.

7.1. Higher vocational education or secondary vocational education in the field of physical education and sports without presenting requirements for work experience, or higher vocational education or secondary vocational education and additional vocational education in the field of physical education and sports without presenting requirements for work experience.

7.2. For a senior trainer-teacher - higher professional education in the field of physical education and sports and work experience in the specialty of at least 2 years.

What does a sports instructor, coach do?

The job description of a sports instructor (coach) usually includes the following tasks:

  1. Planning physical activity classes. The specialist must correctly determine the time of training and the amount of physical activity, taking into account the individual age, psychological, and physiological characteristics of the people he trains;
  2. Conducting training. The main task of a sports coach is to improve the physical fitness of trainees, develop endurance, and contribute through training to improve health and vitality. The specialist must clearly select a training program for each person and monitor its strict adherence;
  3. Security. Sports instructor supervises safety of the training process. If an emergency situation occurs, he must take measures to eliminate it, and, if necessary, provide medical assistance;
  4. Use of sports equipment. During training, it is necessary to properly use sports equipment and special simulators. Their use allows you to increase the effectiveness of classes;
  5. Providing medical care. Intense physical activity can lead to varying degrees of health problems: from bruises and stretch marks to increased blood pressure and headaches. The sports instructor must have first aid skills;
  6. Promotion of sports and a healthy lifestyle. In order to improve the health of the population, a specialist must be able to convey information about the benefits of physical education and maintaining healthy lifestyle. If necessary, must contact the general public through the media and the Internet;
  7. Development of work plans. In order to make the most effective use of working time and organize training processes, a specialist must have planning skills for various periods: for a day, a week, a month, a year, several years;
  8. Providing consulting assistance. When those involved with any question ask for clarification regarding sports activities, types, duration, intensity of exercise, sleep and rest patterns, nutrition during the sports regimen, the specialist is obliged to provide a comprehensive, detailed consultation;
  9. Working on a computer with documentation. A sports coach works with documents in electronic form: develops organizational documents, prepares plans and keeps records of training, prepares letters, statements, petitions, draft orders, instructions in his area of ​​activity. If necessary, must be able to use e-mail and other electronic document management systems when sending and receiving correspondence;
  10. Training. The specialist must carry out activities aimed at improving his knowledge in the field of sports, take part in specialized seminars, round tables, meetings, and periodically improve his qualifications;
  11. Reporting. A sports coach must draw up, fill in with reliable information, store, and provide, if necessary, reporting documentation to regulatory authorities within the framework of his direct activities;
  12. Compliance with professional ethics. A specialist, when carrying out his work activities, must be attentive, tolerant, polite, and correct when communicating with students and work colleagues.

In order to get a job as a sports coach, an applicant must meet the following requirements:

  1. Know the laws relating to employment. Below is a list of main documents:
    • Federal Law No. 329-FZ of December 4, 2007 “On Physical Culture and Sports in the Russian Federation”;
    • Regional, municipal sports programs.
  2. Have a higher or secondary vocational education. Experience in the specialty is preferred. If there are several applicants for the position of sports coach, the more experienced candidate gets preference.
  3. Own basic medical knowledge, be able to provide first aid. The ability to determine the pulse, vital capacity of the lungs, and use a tonometer is welcome.
  4. Know anatomy, features of human physiology, be able to apply knowledge in practice. When applying for a job, you will be required to document your education, qualifications, work experience and other necessary information.
  5. Have high physical fitness. In order to qualify for a job, you must pass several physical education standards.

The monthly income of a sports coach is determined by the terms of the employment contract, which does not contradict the requirements of the Methodological Recommendations approved by Letter of the Ministry of Sports of Russia No. VM-04-10/2554 dated May 12, 2014.

In accordance with the specified document, the salary of a sports coach consists of a fixed salary and increasing coefficients.

They can be of several types:

  • qualifying;
  • related to the characteristics of work activity;
  • personal.

These surcharges are usually set for a specific period: a year or more. Then they can be changed. Their presence does not affect bonuses and other surcharges.

In accordance with the Regulations on Remuneration, a sports coach can be awarded a bonus for completing important tasks and assignments, or for working in difficult working conditions.
