But if circumstances do not allow, as in our case, for example, then it would be better to plan at least a ten-day trip abroad with a small child.

According to the experience of many married couples from our immediate circle and our personal experience, despite some difficulties, such as packing and flying, there is great joy and unforgettable memories. And if you really like your vacation spot, then you definitely won’t have to regret it!

Especially if someone, like us, is used to being with their kids everywhere. Without them, even on vacation, we quickly became sad, especially when we saw happy families with children. They immediately remembered their own people and thought that they could all be together now. Then get ready, pack and go with a positive attitude.

2 Young parents will have virtually It’s impossible to relax a little and be alone, it’s unlikely that you’ll even be able to swim together, because there’s no one to leave the kids with. Or you will have to spend your entire vacation tied only to the hotel and the beach, and you will have to forget about trips and excursions.

In such cases, you can temporarily use the services of a nanny and playgrounds with animators. Or play on the beach in the sand with other children and their parents, who will willingly exchange “duty” with you.

It’s better to immediately agree that one child is “mine” and the other is “yours”, so that a situation does not arise when:

“I thought you were following them!”
- I thought it was you.

Or while one parent is away, swimming, sunbathing and relaxing, for example, with a book, the second one is watching both! Then the “changing of the guard.” And if the room is very close to the shore or a restaurant and the kids are sleeping, you can take a baby monitor with you and at least allow yourself a little swim or a snack together, which we successfully did several times.

It is important to choose the right family excursions and plan walking routes that will not tire the kids. And also adapt to their regime and think and prepare in advance what to take with you on the road. Then you won’t have to deny yourself these pleasures.

After all, it is quite possible to combine such a vacation with some non-tiring excursions and short hiking trips. For example, you can easily take your baby and other children on a sea voyage on a yacht, as well as on a promenade with a stroller along the embankment along the sea or to the historical center.

3 Planning and spending a holiday at sea with small children will be difficult ensure children's safety on the road, on the beach and in the hotel room.

You don’t have to worry about this if you take care in advance to take with you a first aid kit with essential drugs and “for all occasions.” Since you may not be able to find the usual medications, or without knowing a foreign language you won’t be able to communicate at the pharmacy.

On the road, it is good to dress children in bright and conspicuous clothes, in the pockets of which put notes with parents’ contacts. Bring current color photos of your babies with you.

In the room you can secure all sockets with plugs and hide the wires. And if the room is not on the first floor, then carefully monitor the windows and the door to the balcony. If you are afraid that children will be able to open a window or door, you can close them with special clamps or locks, which you probably use at home or buy in a children's store. They won't take up space or add weight to your luggage, but you'll feel much calmer and safer with them.

Especially if it’s a holiday at sea with a one-year-old child or a little older, when children begin to walk independently and explore everything around them. And even though our room was on the first floor, the children often opened the doors themselves, went out into the clearing and the hotel territory, as soon as the parents were a little distracted.

Do not leave children unattended by at least one parent on the beach or in the sea. There are plenty of games and exciting activities to help you. Inflatable rafts or cars are very helpful in terms of safety in the water. As well as special vests and sleeves. With them, they can swim independently even at depth. You just need to be nearby.

4 Planning a seaside holiday with young children, it is better to go for at least a month in order to have time to adapt and get benefits for the immune system, and not the torment of the road and moving. After all, it is difficult and long for small children to acclimatize; it is unlikely that they will be able to avoid illnesses or sunburns at the resort, and flights and climate change are not recommended for children under three years of age.

Of course, at the resort you understand that you’ve just gotten used to it and it’s a pity to leave, especially since the road is exhausting. Literally four days to two weeks were not enough for us to finally relax and enjoy our vacation calmly. But these ten summer days at sea certainly did not pass without a trace for us. We were very pleased! And we managed to complete the planned program with an A plus even with opposite-sex twins, who at that time were less than a month old.

We were accommodated perfectly and had everything we needed. We did not care, as at home, about cooking, cleaning, shopping, or about walking and going out into nature in traffic jams. Everything was there for us 24 hours a day. All that remained was to enjoy the sea, the sun, the warmth, the beautiful nature, the cleanest sea air, the hospitable staff, the comfort and our communication. The main thing is that we were all together and could plan our days without looking back at everyday affairs and difficulties.

How and when to go to the sea with children

In fact, when there are no special medical contraindications, you can safely go on a trip to the sea in another country. The flight will also not cause much inconvenience if you follow certain rules and do not choose very distant countries as your holiday destination with your kids. It is optimal if they are at a distance of two to three hours by air.
Acclimatization in healthy children usually proceeds unnoticed and does not last longer than a few days. And in order to avoid health problems, also try to take into account the most important points when organizing a seaside holiday with small children.
For example, for a vacation it is better to choose the velvet season starting in September or the very beginning of summer - from June. It must be remembered that in seaside resorts July and August are usually the hottest months, when the air temperature rises above forty degrees. It is better to be on the beach by the sea before 11 a.m. and after 4 p.m., when the sun is no longer so active and the sea is very warm. This will protect delicate baby skin from sunburn and heat stroke.
You should also thoroughly wash purchased berries, fruits and vegetables. Moreover, if you are traveling to very exotic countries, it is recommended to rinse them with bottled or boiled water after washing. And, accordingly, drink only this kind of water. For food, give the kids their usual food. Then neither intestinal infection nor rotavirus are scary for you and your children.
