Nettle for uterine contraction. Herbs that cause uterine contractions. Useful properties of nettle in gynecology and not only

The postpartum period for the mother lasts 5-7 days, but complete recovery can be considered only after 9 months.

Early Postpartum - First 2 hours after childbirth.

In the maternity hospital, the following procedures are carried out with the mother: examination and treatment of the birth canal, urine diversioncatheter, put a cold weight on the stomach, transfer on a gurney to the corridor for observation

medical staff. It is important that the mother is warm and at least minimally comfortable. Sucking the baby causes uterine contractions. Also, for contraction, you need to massage the uterus (outside).

Late postpartum period 40 days after birth.

1. Restoration of normal fluid volume

First two days - before milk arrives It is important to drink at least 2 liters per day. Need to drink - strictly before arrival milk, because these substances are not transmitted to the baby with colostrum:

. postpartum collection (herbs mixed in equal proportions: nettle, yarrow and shepherd's purse):
brew in a thermos at the rate of 1 tbsp. for 1 glass of boiling water, drink up to 1 liter of this collection in the first two

days.Strained broth drink with lemon and honey. Has a hemostatic effect.

. freshly squeezed juices: grapefruit, carrot, pomegranate - quickly restore blood, increase hemoglobin (then it will not be possible).

You can 2-3 tablespoons of red wine (warm is even better absorbed)

Water with liquid chlorophyll (1 tablespoon per half liter of water)

.compotes, fruit drinks, herbal and green teas.

2. Diet and drink

If the birth took place with complications (or caesarean, caused), then the first 10 days of vegetarianism. So that there is no strong stool that injures the seams.

. first two days you can raw fruits and vegetables, fresh juices. You can even celebrate with red caviar, champagne or wine.

. from the third day(when milk came) we adhere to strict breastfeeding mom diets you can eat baked, boiled, stewed or baked vegetables andfruits, vegetable soups (without cabbage), fresh bananas, nuts (preferably almonds, hazelnuts, cashews), dried fruits(prunes, raisins, dates and dried apricots), cereals on the water with butter and cream, yeast-free bread, dried bread, sour-milk natural products. Cheese, cottage cheese, low-fat sea fish, meat(rabbit, turkey, game) - protein foods can be eaten freely after the stitches have healed. From sweetyou can: cane sugar, fructose, light honey in small quantities, if the child does not have allergies, dried fruits, oatmeal or anniversary cookies.

. If there is supposed to be a lot of milk so that the breasts do not swell and lumps do not stagnate in it, drink half a liter of liquid in total on the first day of milk arrival (then slightly increasing a glass a day), not hot drinks and food (soups), cold acidified drink is better, and eat low-calorie foods. Normally, milk comes to two children, the breast becomes heavy, larger by a size or two, hot, dense.

.from the third day, foods that cause flatulence in a baby should be excluded from the diet: all

fresh fruits and vegetables, legumes, fresh and sauerkraut, mushrooms, yeast bread, products,

containing yeast (crackers, drying), everything sweet, white sugar. You can try to introduce one product at a time and wait for a reaction of 6-8 hours.

from the third day, products - allergens should be excluded from the diet, which may provokethe occurrence of allergies in a child: whole milk, citrus(excluding lemons, grapefruits),chocolate, chicken, bright red, orange vegetables and fruits, caviar. You can try to introduce, for example, eat 1-2 strawberries and wait for a reaction for 1-2 days, then try to introduce 1-2 berries again as well, because it happens that an allergy occurs with repeated use. Then, even if there was no reaction, eat in moderation, not in kilograms.

3. Uterus contraction

After childbirth, the uterus is located from the navel, it is dense, contoured. Every next day, the uterus

decreases gradually and descends 1-2 fingers down, by the 9th day it goes beyond the bosom

Help the uterus contract (it feels like a pull in the lower abdomen):

Massage of the uterus in the first three days after childbirth during wakefulness every 2-3 hours (down from the navel in a circle down and to the center with gathering movements, then every day massage 1-2 fingers below the navel) for 2 minutes. If the abdomen is soft and the uterus is not felt, then it is not contracting well.

baby sucking

Sleep on your stomach (or lie on your stomach for 15-20 minutes if you do not sleep on it)

Reducing collection (shepherd's bag) - you can drink it after the third day separately, two half a glass each

times a day, 7-10 days. Brew 1 tbsp. for 1 cup of boiling water.-

Cold circular shower on the stomach from the second day - better contrast, as well as on the feet (they are connected)

Water pepper tincture: dilute 1 tsp. in 1/3 cup of hot water, drink three times a day for 5-7 days.

4.Treatment of the birth canal

Whole birth canal: wash more often, ventilate, walk.

Whole with swelling: wash more often, cold to swelling for 5-10 minutes, arnica ointment outside.

Cracks not sutured: give sensitivity when urinating, wash, ventilate, apply arnica ointment or "Rescuer".

Sutured cracks: treat with "Miramistin", then from 3 days with arnica ointment or "Rescuer" or solcoseryl.

The tears are sewn up: do not sit for 7-10 days, ventilate, wash more often, dry with an alcohol solution of propolis. You can use levomekol, drink arnica C-30 (homeopathy) - 3 times a day, 2 peas under the tongue, smear arnica on seams and tears.

5. Excretion: stool and urination

The first two days, sensitivity may be impaired, so it is important to go to the toilet by the clock - every three hours.

The chair may not be for several days, but it is important to do an enema by the end of the second day if there was nothing.

You can do small oil enemas before going to bed: 50-100 ml of warm vegetable oil is injected through

syringe. These measures can be used until the stool is restored. You need a soft chair so that there is no tension on the seams and tears. If you do not go to the toilet for a long time, it hardens. You can use glycerin suppositories and mycolax.

6.The arrival of milk Milk comes on the third day after a normal birth and on the fifth after a Caesarean section or after a delivery with large blood loss.

With the advent of milk, the breast becomes hot, dense, sometimes hard. The body temperature can rise to 39 degrees. In this case, we measure the temperature in the elbow bend. It is important not to miss the beginning of the arrival of milk:

Attach the baby more often

Stop drinking a lot in advance, on the third day you can drink no more than 500 ml of cool acidified

water

Food for the arrival of milk should be dry, cool, non-caloric.

If the breast has become stone, milk is difficult to flow from the breast, we look at our actions with lactostasis and

using homeopathy.

The next day, add 200 ml of liquid.

From the day milk arrives, we remove chlorophyll, nettle and yarrow, fresh juices from drinking.

7. Possible complications: lochiometry (hematometry) and endometritis

Discharge with clots after childbirth is normal, it is important that the discharge gradually decreases, they

change in color: from bright red to brown and yellowish thicker at the end. The last discharge is completed by 40 days after birth. They should have a normal smell. If selection suddenly stopped shortly after childbirth - this is lochiometry (the cervix closes before all the discharge after childbirth has come out). It is important to contact a doctor or specialists. You can help yourself: do warm douches, contrast procedures, lie in a warm bath with rotokan and sea salt. It is important to walk, to make turns. If you lie down, inflate and deflate the stomach, exercises "kitty" and Kegel, sit upright on your feet.

Signs of inflammation in the uterine cavity - endometritis: a bad smell for 5-7 days, an increase in temperature for 7-10 days after childbirth. Contact doctors.

The nature of a woman is amazing and magical! Take at least the uterus. This wonderful organ during pregnancy can “stretch” several times, and after the birth of the baby, return to normal. True, some women are very upset when they learn that the uterus cannot shrink to its previous size in a couple of weeks.

Unfortunately, no doctor will tell you how quickly your wasp waist will return to you. But there are drugs and remedies that will speed up the process of returning beauty.

How does the uterus contract?

  • Immediately after childbirth, the uterus can only be regretted - this is a continuous damage. Especially got the place of attachment of the placenta. The poor organ is filled with blood clots, the remains of the fetal membrane, and the whole is “tuned” not to beauty, but to quick healing.
  • In the first 3-5 days after the appearance of the baby, the uterus is cleared, contracting especially powerfully. Yes, yes, it’s not for nothing that you took such a large pack of night pads to the hospital!
  • In your body, phagocytosis (bacteria are dissolved by white blood cells) and extracellular protheliosis occurs. Of course, as long as you are healthy.
  • Lochia comes out of the uterus (discharge of the woman who gave birth). On the first day they are bloody, on the third they are brown, on the third week they visibly brighten, and on the sixth they are almost gone. This completes the uterine contraction cycle.
  • The uterus of a woman who has just given birth weighs about 1000 g. Its dimensions are: 20 cm in length, 15 cm in width, 12 cm in the pharynx. Only 7 days will pass, and the weight of the organ will be reduced to 300 g, and after 2.5 months the uterus will weigh only 70 g!

The epithelium of the uterus heals quickly - about 20 days, but the placenta "attachment" is longer - up to 45 days. The doctor will probably ask you to listen to your contractions. If the discharge ended somewhere in the sixth week and you feel good, there is no reason to complain to the gynecologist. If they ended much earlier or vice versa, they were very late, it is better to go to the doctor.

Symptoms of a healthy uterine contraction:

  • unpleasant, but generally tolerable sensations in the mammary glands,
  • pain in the perineum,
  • lower abdominal discomfort
  • discharge - lochia,
  • diarrhea (the first few days; after the 4th day, this symptom may signal an overdose of the drug and should be the reason for going to the hospital).

Any of these symptoms can be strongly felt for the first 7 days after delivery. At the end of the 6th week of your motherhood, they should stop.

Most often, young mothers suffer pain and discomfort. However, if you have a low pain threshold, consult a doctor - he will prescribe an anesthetic: ibuprofen, no-shpu, naproxen, ketoprofen (or ketanol suppositories), an injection of lidocaine, or something from homeopathy - sepia, caulophyllum, bellis perennis.

Eight days have passed since the birth, and the pills still have to be taken? This is not normal, go to the gynecologist, let him check you for pathology.

Rapid uterine contraction

It happens that pain and discharge disappear as early as 3-4 weeks after childbirth, and the woman is very pleased with this. However, this is not a very good sign. Rapid contraction of the uterus can have such complications:

  • part of the lochia did not come out, lingering inside the organ, which is fraught with suppuration and inflammation (after all, do not forget that these are nothing more than blood clots, the remains of the placenta and endometrium, and even the waste products of your baby),
  • problems with lactation: accelerated contraction of the uterus can "cut" the amount of milk produced by the body, as well as change its composition, because of which the baby may even refuse mother's sisi,
  • the risk of getting pregnant again increases, and for your body it would be a shock, since the uterus has not yet recovered in fact.

In general, if you notice that there is no discharge too early - think not about the return of sexual life (no matter how much you and your husband would like it), but about consulting a gynecologist.

Well, so that such “accelerations” do not occur, increase uterine contractions. It’s not difficult: follow the daily routine (if you can, ask older children, mother, mother-in-law, sister to help with the child), eat normally, get enough sleep (let the newly-made dad “serve” the night watch for at least a couple of weeks), walk in the fresh air. In general, you do not need any pills or “weed”.

Too slow uterine contraction

If an accelerated contraction of this organ is rare, then a protracted one, unfortunately, is a frequent visitor to young mothers. How to accelerate the renewal of the uterus and quickly restore your body? Everything is elementary. Firstly, consult a doctor, let him rule out pathologies. Secondly, do not be lazy - a specialist will surely advise exercises, as well as herbs.

How can official medicine help you?

If immediately after the birth (the first or third day) you don’t have lochia and there are no unpleasant sensations from the bottom of the abdomen, similar to contractions, then for some reason the uterus is not contracting. Her fate should be decided by the doctor: only he knows what will help you better, pills or injections.

Oxytocin

This artificial hormone will help normalize lactation, severe bleeding, and also accelerate the renewal of the uterus. Often it is prescribed in the form of injections, in especially difficult cases (for example, after a cesarean) - in the form of droppers.

Uterine oxytocins

Preparations from the same group, but with pharmacological additives that enhance or weaken the action of the central substance. These are: hyfotocin, dinoprostone, ergotal, pituitrin. They are prescribed both in tablets and in injections.

Important to remember: although official medicine recognizes oxytocin, some doctors do not approve of it, believing that uterine contractions should start naturally. Such a specialist will first of all advise you to turn to traditional medicine.

"Grandma's" drugs

Although these are seemingly harmless “weeds”, you should not prescribe them to yourself (or trust their appointment to your mother or neighbor). Any treatment, even folk, must be approved, and even better - prescribed by a doctor.

White lamb

2 tablespoons of dried flowers pour 0.5 liters of boiled cold water. Let stand overnight. Drink 3-4 times a day, 100 ml.

Nettle

4 tablespoons of a dry plant pour 500 ml of boiling water, let the broth cool. Drink 3 times a day, 100 ml.

Shepherd's bag

Pour 4 tablespoons of herbs with 2 cups of boiling water. Wrap until cool. Drink this amount of decoction all day.

blood red geranium

2 teaspoons pour 1 glass of cooled boiled water overnight. Drink all day.

Yarutka field

Pour 2 tablespoons of the plant with 1 cup of boiling water overnight. Drink 5 times a day, 1 teaspoon.

These remedies are good because they help your body “start up” after giving birth without drugs. After all, what kind of nursing mother wants something pharmacy to get into her precious milk!

Massages

Sometimes in the hospital, the doctor can make special stimulating strokes on the belly of the woman in labor. Their purpose is to stimulate the work of the uterus. They are done every 2 hours. The doctor gently presses on the uterus. Of course, this procedure can be unpleasant, but it is worth enduring, as it is very useful.

Will homeopathy help?

Many women in childbirth like “sweet white granules” first of all not because of the pleasant taste, but because they do not contain chemical and synthetic substances, helping the uterus to contract qualitatively, and also mobilizing all the forces of the body for postpartum recovery.

The most popular means for women in labor can be called: cinchona (helps with heavy bleeding), ipecac (eliminates weakness), staphysagria (heals the uterus from the inside), and ergot (shrinks the uterus - but you need to be careful with this remedy, it can cause thrombosis and abscess ).

Uterine Contraction Exercises

If the doctor gave the go-ahead, then even from the first day after childbirth, you can begin to perform simple but very useful exercises that will help the uterus contract properly. These exercises do not take much time, but the sooner you start doing them, the faster the uterus will recover and shrink, and the lower the risk of a long recovery after childbirth.
  1. Lie on the floor on your back. You can use a soft mat to make it more comfortable. bring your legs together and relax. Alternately bend and unbend your legs at a calm pace. It will be enough 10-12 times for each leg.
  2. Also lying on your back, straighten your legs and stretch your socks towards you.
  3. Periodically tighten and relax your toes.
  4. A good positive effect is provided by special breathing exercises. And again you need to lie down on the floor, bend your legs at the knees. Breathing is even and deep. While breathing, raise the abdominal wall on the inhale and lower on the exhale. You can help yourself with your hands, making sliding movements to the pubic bone from the navel.
  5. On exhalation, squeezing the pelvic muscles, pull the navel as close to the chest as possible and hold your breath for 10-15 seconds. This exercise is called "Vacuum".
  6. Kegel exercises will be indispensable in such gymnastics.
  7. Take a fitball or gym ball and find a non-slippery surface. Sit on a fitball, squeeze your intimate muscles and, without relaxing them, alternately raise your legs, holding it on weight for 10-15 seconds.
  8. Sitting on a fitball, perform circular movements with the pelvis in both directions. You can also swing in different directions.

Here is such a gymnastics for contraction of the uterus. However, these exercises are contraindicated after suturing, as you will first need to wait for their complete healing.

The postpartum period begins from the moment the placenta is born and continues until the moment when the involution (recovery) of those organs and systems that have undergone changes during childbirth ends. In the postpartum period, early and late stages are distinguished. The early stage is the first 2–4 hours after birth. At this time, complications are possible (bleeding, physiological increase in body temperature, increase in blood pressure). Therefore, the first 2-4 hours after childbirth, the woman is in the delivery room. Then she is transferred to the postpartum ward, to the ward.

During the late postpartum period, the body of the woman in labor finally returns to the state that it was before pregnancy. In the first months after childbirth, special care is needed not only for the child, but also for the mother. At this time, a woman's body needs rest and good nutrition, but especially she needs participation, emotional support and a good attitude from relatives.

At first, not only the newborn needs attention and care of relatives, but also the mother herself. And, perhaps, she, just, to a greater extent. During pregnancy, not only muscles, ligaments, hormonal balance changed, but the woman herself also changed! As a rule, a woman during pregnancy experiences on an unconscious level the so-called pregnancy syndrome, which affects the formation of her self-concept. She must realize and accept a new life in herself.

Something similar happens in the first days after the birth of a child. It's done! The baby is born! What's next? And then you need to accept yourself as a mother, learn to feel and realize yourself in this new, unusual state, open your inner world to the ongoing changes. You need to learn to live with the baby, and accept him as a small, but a person who has the right to his desires, feelings, has his own rhythm of life. And, which is not at all easy - to learn to make your own decisions, to take responsibility for everything that concerns the child. And the young mother to learn all this. Everything will come, it will definitely come, but with time, with experience, perhaps even through overcoming some difficulties.

In one of our lectures on preparing for childbirth, I say that the expectant mother, the child and the future father are one team. So keep on being her! The team has changed slightly - now a real mother, a real child, a real dad. Only and everything. Appreciate the moment. And may your long-awaited meeting bring joy and be remembered in a good way for a long time. Feel like a family - mom, dad, and baby. Relatives and a noisy feast will come later. Now you and baby! Share this joy together.

But just a few days will pass and your mind will be so busy with the baby that you can simply forget about your own needs, that you should take care of yourself for the first month after giving birth, and recover as quickly as possible. The baby needs not only a caring mother who feeds, changes diapers, takes out for a walk, but also calm, sensitive, attentive, in a good mood, enjoying life. Only then will you be able to make communication with the child more interesting, lively, satisfying both the baby and you. And then he will not be "a backbiter and a burden."

Now let's go back to the hospital for a while. What happens to a woman in the first hours after a normal birth?

Immediately after childbirth

The first procedure is examination of the placenta and care of the woman in labor. The doctor carefully examines the placenta, fetal membranes, soft tissues, examines the placenta. This is to make sure everything went well. The placenta is laid out on a smooth tray with the maternal surface up and carefully examined, lobule by lobule. Particular attention is paid to the presence of torn vessels, which indicates an additional lobule that remained in the uterine cavity. If part of the placenta is retained in the uterus or there are soft tissue injuries, additional procedures and examinations are carried out. A little later, they may prescribe an ultrasound of the uterine cavity.

Immediately after childbirth, the bottom of the uterus (its upper part) should be dense. If it is relaxed, the midwife will massage. External massage of the uterus is performed through the anterior abdominal wall to remove blood clots accumulated in it and to restore the contractility of the muscles of the uterus. During the massage, the midwife pays attention to the consistency of the uterus, its size, soreness and the nature of the discharge from the genital tract.

Immediately after childbirth, you should put a heating pad with ice on the lower abdomen and to the perineum. A heating pad is applied so that the uterus contracts better after childbirth and recovers in size, to actively contract small blood vessels and stop bleeding. The heating pad should be applied through the diaper. Keep the heating pad with ice for no more than 20 minutes so as not to catch a cold.

Immediately after childbirth, you should try to go to the toilet "in a small way." Sometimes there is a problem with this. It may be associated with spasm of the sphincter of the bladder, or, conversely, with atony of the bladder. Urinary retention may be due to overexcitation of the sympathetic nervous system. As a result, a spastic state occurs (spasm, contraction). With urinary retention, you must try to cause it reflexively. You can help yourself like this: create a sound reflex. For example, turn on the tap with water or "persuade" yourself, as you persuade a child to urinate. The sound of running water or a voice will help to cope with the task. You can put a warm heating pad on the suprapubic area if there is no bleeding. If you can't deal with the problem in these ways, ask for a catheter or medication. Empty your bladder as soon as possible. And do not forget to restore and replenish the water balance.

Women who have given birth many times may face another problem - slight urinary incontinence immediately after childbirth (bladder atony). Often this is due to the fact that the muscles of the pelvic floor are somewhat weakened and overstretched. In this case, it is useful to do the Kegel exercise regularly.

In the ward

Save yourself. At first, get out of bed carefully, calmly, rise smoothly. Otherwise, you may get dizzy. This should be especially considered by those women who have lost a lot of fluid during childbirth, who have low blood pressure or weakness.

Do not run to the baby like "mad", do not fuss when he cried. Start with the crumbs affectionately and gently talk. Sing something or just "sip". And even better, have lullabies and good, rhythmic verses in stock. Don't worry, the baby will recognize your voice, calm down and wait for his mommy. So, you yourself will keep calm, “collect your thoughts”, and your calmness will be transferred to the child, and you will understand each other better.

Sleeping and lying after childbirth is better on the stomach. Don't tighten your belly. If you feel good, move more. Do joint gymnastics and be sure to remember the full soothing breath.

Vaginal discharge (lochia)

The first time after childbirth, there is vaginal discharge similar to heavy menstruation. They are called lochia. The total amount of vaginal discharge for 6–8 weeks is 500–1500 g. Their reaction is neutral or alkaline. They have a peculiar rotten smell, which then gradually disappears.

If the smell resembles the smell of rot, is strong, sharp, and intensifies further, you should definitely consult a doctor. A sharp, unpleasant odor is a sign of infection.

In the early days, lochia has a bloody character. In the following weeks, their color changes from red to reddish-brown, brownish. By the 4th week, the discharge almost stops, they say there is a “daub” and soon fade completely.

If the discharge remains bright red and profuse for more than 2-3 weeks, you should consult your doctor.

All the time during which there is a discharge, pads will be needed. They should be changed regularly. I constantly come across the fact that the doctors of maternity hospitals are scolded for the fact that instead of pads they are forced to “wear” diapers. I want to stand up for doctors. Such a proposal has a certain meaning. Modern, branded pads, especially gel ones, are not suitable for the recovery period after childbirth. They do not "breathe" well, that is, they can create conditions for the development of microorganisms and provoke an infection. In addition, the nature of the discharge is not always noticeable on them, which is no less important immediately after childbirth. It is better to use diapers or sewn-in cotton pads. They breathe well. Do not use tampons in the first weeks after childbirth, they can provoke an infection. The first days it is better not to wear panties, so that "it is ventilated and not rotten." Instead of regular underwear, special mesh panties can be used with your doctor's permission.

Do not forget about simple hygiene procedures. Take a shower more often, thoroughly washing the external genitalia, but not inside.

Pay attention to the uterus

During the first week of the postpartum period, the mass of the uterus is halved, that is, it reaches about 500 g. By the end of the second week, it weighs about 350 g, by the end of the third week, 250 g. By 6–8 weeks after birth, the reverse development of the uterus stops. The uterus of a woman giving birth has a mass of about 75 g. The height of the fundus of the uterus immediately after childbirth is 4 cm below the navel, the next day the fundus of the uterus rises and stands at the level of the navel due to the restoration of muscle tone of the pelvic diaphragm. On the 4th day after birth, the bottom of the uterus is usually determined at half the distance between the navel and the womb. On days 8–9, the fundus of the uterus can still be palpated at the level of the womb or 2 cm above it. On average, for every day, the bottom of the uterus drops by 2 cm. As you can see, serious changes are taking place in the body, and this takes time and effort.

Two to three days after giving birth, the uterus may feel heavy and tense - this is normal. After the birth of the placenta, it continues to contract and the woman may experience postpartum contractions. There is a process of involution. The involution of the uterus depends on the general condition of the woman's body, on the work of the central and peripheral nervous system, on the work of the endocrine system, on age, on the number of births, on the duration of real births. By contracting, the uterus closes off the open blood vessels at the site of the placenta, preventing blood loss, and sheds the extra membranes built during pregnancy.

The intensity of postpartum contractions varies from woman to woman. It is not uncommon for the contractions to be felt more strongly if this is not the first child. In addition, strong and even uncomfortable contractions can be felt in the first days after childbirth during breastfeeding. The baby actively sucks, stimulates the nipple, and this contributes to the release of the hormone oxytocin. Oxytocin enhances the production of lactogenic hormone, and thus increases lactation, but the same hormone causes contraction of the muscles of the uterus, increases its excitability. This often causes inconvenience to a woman. For some, postpartum contractions go almost unnoticed and even pleasant. Some people find it very difficult to breastfeed their baby.

Usually the pain lasts for several days and gradually subsides. When contractions are felt very strongly, you should take care of yourself. Place a pillow under your stomach and bend forward slightly. This is the most benign position in this case. You can try lying on your stomach on a firm pillow. There is a similar option: sit on a chair and lean forward. The palms should be placed on the area of the uterus. Often, intuitively, women begin to stroke their lower abdomen with their palms, lightly massaging it, making circular or bowl-shaped movements, rubbing the lower back. If you feel discomfort in the uterus while breastfeeding, you need to choose a convenient place for feeding. In such cases, it is good to feed lying on your side, half-sitting, putting pillows under your lower back and elbows. When there are cutbacks, the amount of allocations may increase slightly. This is fine.

The first week after childbirth, the stomach may ache, as after hard physical work. These are no longer uterine contractions - the muscles that are actively involved in childbirth, for example, the abdominal muscles, hurt. In this case, a warming massage and deep relaxation will also help.

In addition to light massage movements and a comfortable position, it is useful to remember about breathing exercises and complete relaxation combined with imagination. A little time, a desire to practice and an interest in this very useful technique will help you relax deeper and get rid of pain. How to help the imagination? Try to recall and feel the light, warmth, coziness and comfort in the abdomen. The main thing is to feel what is described, as if it were happening in reality. Try to make the presentation as accurate as possible. Feel how the alternation of light, warmth, coziness and comfort have united in your sensation. Help yourself with warm breath. Come up with your own examples. Perhaps the image of a soft, fluffy kitten, which carelessly lies on your stomach, warms and heals you with its warmth, will suit you.

Episiotomy (perineal incision). Rupture of soft tissues of the perineum.

After dissection of the perineum or as a result of rupture of the soft tissues of the perineum, they are sutured. Seams must be kept dry and clean. After discharge from the hospital, if necessary, the stitches should be processed at home.

You can take a shower several times a day, while water should not flow into the vagina.

It is useful to wash the external genitalia and perineum with a solution of chamomile, calendula, eucalyptus.

While the sutures are healing, some pain is allowed, but if the sutures become very painful or become infected, pus and an unpleasant odor appear, consult a doctor.

When everything heals and the postpartum discharge stops, think about possible scars left after suturing. To soften the scars, you can do a light massage of the perineum using an oil infusion of herbs: St. John's wort, wild rose, sea buckthorn, calendula, chamomile. Sedentary herbal baths from oregano, thyme, St. John's wort, calendula, chamomile, horsetail, clover help well. Be sure to do the Kegel exercise.

If stitches are applied, try to treat yourself very carefully for the first months. Get up gently, through your side, not through your stomach. This will relieve pressure on the perineal muscles. Feed your baby lying on your side or half-sitting, surrounded by pillows. Do not lift weights for the first three months.

Haemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids - a nodular expansion of the veins of the lower intestine in the anus. The disease is usually associated with obstruction of venous outflow during straining. Hemorrhoids can lead not only to frequent constipation, an abundance of gases in the intestines, incomplete emptying of the rectum, a sedentary lifestyle, especially cross-legged, but pregnancy and childbirth.

During pregnancy and childbirth, pressure on the pelvic floor increases and blood flow to the pelvic organs increases. Which leads to this problem. The disease may be at different stages. The initial stage is manifested by itching in the anus, burning, pain during defecation, fever. For developing hemorrhoids, the appearance of cones, bleeding is characteristic. This requires a visit to a doctor.

To reduce discomfort, in addition to what the doctor recommends, you need to pay attention to nutrition. It is important to avoid constipation in order to reduce strain. To do this, include foods rich in fiber in your diet. They have a mild laxative effect. More often use seaweed, beets, baked apples, cauliflower, germinated cereals.

To strengthen the muscles of the pelvic floor, after the treatment, you can use the Kegel exercise, "Cat". Do not stand or sit for a long time, do not lift weights.

With hemorrhoids, warm sitz baths using herbal infusions help well. Sitz baths can be done only after the discharge has stopped. To prepare an infusion for a bath, use a ready-made anti-hemorrhoidal collection or individual herbs. For hemorrhoids, pepper grass, kidney grass, clover grass, alder leaves, nettle grass are used.

You can make phytocompresses on the anus or apply fitoled

Fatigue. Depression. Depression.

Immediately after the birth of a child, a woman most likely feels happy and joyful. It is also natural, however, that this high spirits can swing the other way. This condition is known as "baby blues", "postnatal sadness", "maternal melancholy", "postpartum depression". It is usually accompanied by a feeling of depression, a feeling of constant fatigue and a depressive mood. The mood can change frequently. Now you want to laugh, then suddenly cry, some have a feeling of emptiness. All of these are normal postpartum emotions.

The process of returning hormones to normal can greatly affect a woman's emotional state, her mood and feelings. An additional emotional factor is the fact that she became a mother. Now a lot of time has to be devoted to the child, and exactly when the baby requires it, and not when it is convenient and convenient. And then there is the nightly feeding of a newborn, the duty at the crib of the crumbs, the heart-rending cry of a restless baby. And many young mothers from the first days begin to "restore" the figure, actively engage in gymnastics. So a nervous breakdown “rolls unexpectedly”. And the young mother would be glad to be more balanced and patient, but it doesn’t work, she doesn’t have enough strength.

How can you help yourself?

Get more rest
A woman after childbirth, no matter how hardy and selfless she is, can get very tired. Don't fight yourself, take good care of yourself. Your child needs a calm, kind, understanding mother. Learn to love yourself, understand and respect your feelings. And then you can do more for your baby, learn to better understand his desires and feelings.
Be sure to find time for yourself. Walk more, relax, sleep. If necessary, sleep with your baby. The first month with a child, you can not walk on the street at all. You can take a walk with the baby on the balcony or in a room with an open window. Reduce attention to household chores. Perhaps there is a person who will help you with the housework, you just look around, let it be done and don't be too strict.

Nettle and its healing properties have been known to mankind since ancient times. The first mention of the healing power of the plant appeared in ancient Greece. Since then, traditional healers have created dozens of recipes to help people restore health and improve their general condition in the process of curing various diseases. As an aid, nettle is widely used in the treatment of a number of diseases in the field of gynecology: menstruation disorders, uterine bleeding and other ailments. One has only to remember some contraindications to the use of a miracle plant.

Useful properties of nettle in gynecology and not only

So why is nettle so useful for women's health? Why is this plant so often used as an indispensable assistant in the treatment of gynecological diseases? The answer is quite simple, the thing is that nettle contains useful vitamins and minerals with bactericidal, tonic, healing, restorative, anti-inflammatory and hemostatic properties.

Nettle is an indispensable adjuvant for the treatment of gynecological diseases. Nettle leaves are used both fresh and pre-prepared, dry.

For example, severe menstrual blood loss is often associated with poor blood clotting. The body is deficient in vitamin K and the blood becomes excessively thin, leading to increased bleeding. Sufficient amounts of this vitamin are found in nettles. Of no small importance for improving blood clotting is calcium, the required amount of which is present in the plant.

Due to the fact that nettle contains iron, it is used as part of drugs that increase hemoglobin, and for better absorption of this trace element, the body needs a sufficient amount of vitamin C, which is also present in the plant. This composition relieves soreness and reduces the profusion of menstruation.

In addition, the plant contains chlorophyll, which heals wounds. Thanks to this component, epithelialization, granulation and tissue healing occur more actively. Nettle also enhances the contractions and tone of the uterus, by acting on the active components of the myometrium (muscle layer) of the organ.

It should be remembered that it will not work to induce menstruation or abruptly stop them with the help of nettles. These manifestations require contacting doctors and obtaining qualified medical care.

Contraindications and side effects

Nettle is a rather unique plant that has long been eaten and used for the preparation of medicines, but it also has a number of contraindications:

  • tumors of the uterine appendages;
  • uterine tumors;
  • bleeding with polyps;
  • increased blood clotting;
  • increased blood viscosity (with atherosclerosis, hypertension);
  • lack of a clear medical diagnosis;

With caution, it is also worth using nettle for pregnant and lactating women, children, as well as people with allergies to herbs.

There is a myth that taking nettle decoctions can accelerate the onset of delayed periods, or provoke their delay, this is not true. Most likely, these judgments are caused only by the ability of the plant to have a beneficial effect on the hormonal background of the body, due to the large amount of vitamin E necessary for the full functioning of the reproductive system.

The first few weeks after the birth of a baby are the happiest and most difficult in the life of a young mother. If problems with the production of breast milk are added to the constant lack of sleep and overwork, you need to think about helping the body. Nettle is often recommended for lactation in the form of a tea or infusion. A healthy drink will help support lactation and improve the general condition of the mother.

The juice and leaves of this plant are rich in vitamins, minerals and other useful substances, which are especially necessary for the depleted body of a young mother.

By taking nettle tea, you can achieve many positive changes:

  • prevent or reduce bleeding;
  • strengthen blood vessels;
  • restore metabolism.

A healthy drink will saturate the body with ascorbic acid. Vitamin C in this herb is about twice as much as in blackcurrant berries. It has a slight diuretic effect, which helps to cope with the problem of edema, and also normalizes bowel function.

The vitamin and mineral composition of nettle decoction is no less impressive:

  • potassium and iodine, necessary to stabilize the hormonal function of the thyroid gland;
  • calcium, sodium, iron and copper;
  • vitamins of groups A, B, E, K.
  • as well as flavonoids, phytoncides, tannins, glycosides, chlorophyll, tannins and organic acids.

And this is not all the useful properties of nettle. It stops bleeding, so it is often used for heavy periods or lochia.

Contraction of the uterus after childbirth

After the birth of a child, the female body is faced with another difficult task - "to return everything as it was." First of all, this concerns the size of the uterus, which had to increase significantly in size.

Nettle after childbirth is an effective tool that accelerates the contraction of the uterus to its original size. To do this, it is recommended to brew 3-4 tablespoons of crushed leaves with boiling water and take the cooled infusion half a glass 3 times a day.

Nettle infusion in the first hours and days after childbirth is also used to prevent postpartum hemorrhage. Since it contracts the muscles of the uterus, the blood vessels in it are also pinched, which slows down the release of blood. However, if the bleeding does not stop and is accompanied by severe weakness, urgent medical attention should be sought.

With heavy periods

After the baby is born, the menstrual cycle may not return immediately, and the first period may be heavy or painful. Nettle during breastfeeding is an excellent tool for normalizing the cycle.

Due to the high content of vitamin K and chlorophyll, the decoction contributes to the speedy healing of the wound that forms at the site of the rejected epithelium. Nettle decoction is also rich in iron, so it will help replenish its deficiency after a large blood loss. Tea from the leaves of this herb has an antispasmodic and analgesic effect.

It is recommended to use a decoction to reduce menstruation if they cause discomfort. If you experience severe weakness due to large blood loss, reaching fainting and dizziness, no herb will help, call an ambulance.

To enhance lactation

By itself, nettle does not have a lactogenic effect. However, she can increase her milk supply simply by improving the mother's general condition and reversing the effects of physical exhaustion during breastfeeding.

Sometimes it happens that nettle decoctions or infusions do not help increase the amount of milk. In this case, it is recommended to try other herbs with a lactogenic effect, such as an infusion of anise or dill seeds. But remember that herbs for lactation are far from the main thing. It is important to observe in order to establish milk production.

Nettle for lactation is often initially used in combination with other herbs, which allows you to enhance the overall healing effect and recover faster after childbirth.

Dosage and prescriptions

Nettle during lactation can be used in different ways. Most often, of course, these are decoctions or infusions, both “solo” and in combination with other herbs. But in addition to drinks, this herb can be used to make soups, salads and even pastries. In any case, its beneficial properties for feeding will remain.

Like any other "innovations", a nursing mother should take nettle carefully, starting with small portions - 1 tablespoon each. Then, if there are no signs of allergy or intolerance, you can gradually increase the volume.

To increase the amount of breast milk, nettle decoctions are recommended to be drunk about half an hour before feeding. You can choose the recipe according to your taste or the presence of the necessary additives:

  1. Pour 25 leaves of nettle with a liter of boiling water, bring to a boil and turn off after a minute. Infuse for half an hour and take a third of a glass three times a day.
  2. Pour a glass of dried leaves with the same amount of boiling water, wrap and leave for about 1-1.5 hours. Taken warm, three times a day.
  3. Mix a spoonful of dry nettle with a spoonful of yarrow and dill seeds, pour 1 liter of boiling water and leave for at least 2 hours. Taken chilled.
  4. You can drink nettle by adding it to the usual white, green or herbal tea.

In order for the plant to act as it should, it is necessary to observe the drinking regimen. A nursing mother should drink at least 2-2.5 liters of fluid per day.

Nettle decoction for lactation is not the only use of this herb. It can also be used fresh.

Add chopped nettle leaves (200 g) to the boiling soup and cook for 2 minutes, salt to taste and remove from heat. Add the juice of one lemon to the finished dish, leave for a few minutes and serve with a boiled egg and a spoonful of sour cream.

green pie

You can buy ready-made dough or make your own. To do this, you need to mix 200 g of flour, 100 g of cottage cheese, 100 ml of vegetable oil and a little salt. The dough is divided into two parts, one serves as the base of the pie, the second - the "lid". For the filling, chopped nettle leaves (300 g), greens to taste (dill, onion feathers, spinach, sorrel), fatty cottage cheese (200 g) and sour cream (150 g) are used. Top the cake with a beaten egg and bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 30-40 minutes.

Nettle with HB is a safe and effective remedy that will help solve several problems at once. However, as in other cases, you should be careful with it. It is very important to observe the dosage and all precautions so as not to harm your health and the health of the baby.

Very often, young mothers during lactation are faced with the problem of a lack of breast milk. In pharmacy kiosks, in such a case, there is a whole range of drugs: homeopathy, teas, and even medicines. How our mothers and grandmothers coped with the lack of milk - with the help of nettle infusion. Soups are boiled from nettles, fresh leaves are added to salads, but the most common way to use them is nettle decoctions and infusions. Nettle infusion contains vitamin C, ascorbic acid, iron, which is so necessary for breastfeeding. The use of herbal infusion has a beneficial effect on the body of a young mother.

Nettle has many health benefits, but can it be taken while breastfeeding?

How to prepare herbal tea?

This article talks about typical ways to solve your questions, but each case is unique! If you want to know from me how to solve exactly your problem - ask your question. It's fast and free!

Nettle during lactation is a very healthy drink, the most important thing is to choose the right plant. Dry grass can be purchased at a pharmacy or you can collect it yourself. In the second option, it is desirable to collect nettles on warm sunny days away from busy roads and industrial enterprises. The ideal place is slopes in small settlements, villages. Bright green plants on young shoots are suitable for collection. Moms who decide to make the collection on their own are advised to get cotton gloves and scissors.

Collected leaves can be brewed immediately to improve lactation, but it is better to prepare nettles for future use. To do this, you need to form small "bouquets" of plants and hang them in a dry, ventilated room away from sunlight. Ultraviolet rays will burn the young leaves, and such "brewing" will not bring benefits. Nettle is dried for about a week, the ready-made collection must be stored either in a canvas bag or in a glass jar with a lid.

Nettles should be dried in a dark place so that the sun does not spoil the plant.

How to take nettle during lactation?

Like any product, nettle should be introduced into the diet of a nursing woman with caution, after consulting with a pediatrician. On the first day, it is necessary to make a sample of the decoction - 1 quarter of a mug, after which take a break of 2-3 days. If the baby does not have allergic reactions - problems with the intestines and rashes on the face and body, you should continue to take the decoction during lactation, increasing it to 1-2 glasses per day. If you suspect an allergy, the decoction should be stopped before the child reaches six months.

Do not add milk and honey to the infusions - these are strong allergens, they can cause intestinal colic and indigestion in the baby. It is better to sweeten nettle tea with fructose, in extreme cases - one teaspoon of sugar.

Recipes for decoctions and infusions

There are several recipes for nettle teas. To improve lactation, it is recommended to take them 30 minutes before feeding:

Nettle is a well-known weed that they try to bypass. This plant is capable of "stinging" when touched, leaving painful environments. But our distant ancestors knew about its exceptional benefits for humans.

This plant is widely eaten in soups, salads, teas, decoctions of medicinal herbs. The content of ascorbic acid in it is even higher than that of blackcurrant (see Currant during lactation)! There are also vitamins A, E, K, trace elements I, Cu, Ca, Mg, Na, Fe, flavonoids, tannins, phytoncides, etc.

Agree, the list of useful substances is impressive.

Decoctions, teas and dishes from nettle help strengthen the body as a whole, accumulate its defenses, and prevent anemia (anemia). For women who have recently given birth, this is a real find. But can nettle be used while breastfeeding? After all, its elements will fall into the milk that the child will eat. Is it good or bad for him?

These fears are largely unfounded, this plant can be eaten during pregnancy and lactation. A contraindication may be a rather rare individual reaction of the body. You can track it if you follow the nutritional rules of a nursing mother. Namely, the gradual introduction of new products, starting with very small doses. It is better to do this in the morning so that you can watch the child during the day.

Collapse

There are a huge number of drugs that help terminate an early pregnancy or stop bleeding, but why look for an expensive remedy if everything can be done according to grandmothers' recipes. Herbs for uterine contraction significantly save money, and some people prefer traditional methods of treatment more than drugs.

What herbs can be used?

There is a list of plants that contribute to the contractility of the uterine muscles. You can use for these purposes:

  • shepherd's bag;
  • white clover;
  • nettle;
  • laurel leaf;
  • field yarutka;
  • red geranium;
  • birch foliage;
  • highlander bird;
  • scaly mountaineer;
  • spring primrose;
  • hay grass;
  • watercress;
  • sage;
  • tansy;
  • roots and bark of barberry;
  • wild rosemary;
  • sagebrush;
  • calendula;
  • St. John's wort;
  • raspberry leaves.

Sometimes the components are combined, after which the composition becomes more effective and efficient.

When can herbs be used?

Herbs that reduce the uterus should be used in different situations.

  1. When an unwanted pregnancy occurs, that is, in order to terminate it (abortion). Infusions and decoctions provoke active uterine activity, as a result of which the organ will begin to reject the embryo.
  2. During uterine bleeding. With the help of such means, you can reduce heavy menstrual flow, stop them if they go too long. It also helps eliminate intermenstrual bleeding.
  3. After natural childbirth. If a woman in labor does not have pain in the abdomen, the organ does not contract - this is a pathology. In order for all the clots and remnants of the placenta to come out of the uterine cavity, an active contractile activity of the organ is needed.
  4. After caesarean section. The organ after artificial birth rarely functions normally and is fully reduced. To do this, again use means to reduce the uterus.
  5. During the birth process in the second period. If the contractions are weak, the cervix slowly opens or does not happen at all, then such remedies can speed up the process. If nothing is done, there is a danger that the child will suffocate, or due to a lack of oxygen, various developmental abnormalities may appear in the future.
  6. After spontaneous abortion (miscarriage). If a woman was diagnosed with a miscarriage, and an ultrasound scan showed that not all the remains of the embryo came out, then you will have to resort to uterine stimulation. This will help avoid serious consequences.
  7. To enhance lactation. Oxytocin is needed for milk production. If the woman's body is not able to reproduce it on its own, then various means will help this.

In any case, the independent use of herbal preparations or one-component formulations is prohibited. The doctor will help to solve the problem and find a way out of this situation after a thorough examination and examination.

Contraindications and side effects

Herbs that reduce the uterus have contraindications and side effects. If you use them thoughtlessly and at your own discretion, you may experience:

  • heavy bleeding;
  • loss of consciousness;
  • dizziness;
  • nausea;
  • inflammatory process due to incomplete expulsion of the fetus from the uterus (a partially fetal egg may remain inside);
  • premature birth;
  • heart attack;
  • intoxication;
  • infertility;
  • death.

It is contraindicated for pregnant women who wish to keep the child. Some plants are highly toxic, as a result of their use, not only uterine contractions occur, but also poisoning of the body, especially if used in large doses. If you drink the uterine collection thoughtlessly, without adhering to the recommendations, then there may be the most unpredictable consequences. This includes the malfunction of vital organs, the inability to have children in the future, and even death.
