Vial eye drops. Vial eye drops instructions General information about the product

Vial is a medical product that is used in ophthalmology.

It has vasoconstrictor, decongestant and antihistamine properties.

The use of this drug helps reduce irritation and burning, lacrimation and pain in the visual area.

The effect of Vial becomes noticeable within a few minutes from the moment of administration, and it continues for four hours.

Instructions for use

Indications for use

Indications for the use of Vial may be:

  1. Allergic manifestations.
  2. Nonspecific or catarrhal conjunctivitis.
  3. Irritation of the mucous membrane of the organs of vision due to the ingress of water with chlorine, dust and smoke, bright light, pollen, and cosmetics.
  4. Fatigue and redness of the eyes as a result of many hours of sitting in front of a monitor, watching TV or working with text documents.

Release form, composition

Mode of application

The resulting hole cannot be enlarged, as this will lead to an overdose of the medicine. If the patient wears contact lenses, they should be removed before using Vial, as their contact with drops will reduce their transparency.

The vial should be injected into the conjunctival sac one or two drops up to three times a day. If it is used for therapy in children from two to six years of age, prior medical consultation is required.

Vial cannot be used continuously for more than three days. If after two days the symptoms of inflammation of the organs of vision continue to be present, the use of drops must be stopped, since in this case the inflammatory process may be of an infectious nature.

Interaction with other drugs

Vial should not be used in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors. If the patient uses other ophthalmic drops, then he needs to adhere to a fifteen-minute interval between the use of these drops and the administration of Vial.

Side effects

Vial is characterized by the absence of systemic side effects. With prolonged use of this drug, phenomena such as hyperemia and irritation of the conjunctiva, a feeling of stinging and burning in the eye area, and decreased clarity of vision may be observed.

It is extremely rare that mydriasis can develop. Side effects of using Vial were also noticed, such as an increase in blood pressure, acceleration and intensification of the heartbeat, and narrowing of blood vessels.

Contraindications

Vial should not be taken in the following cases:

  1. The period of waiting for the baby and breastfeeding.
  2. Children under two years of age.
  3. Epidermal-endothelial dystrophy of the cornea.
  4. Angle-closure glaucoma.
  5. Individual intolerance to the constituent substances of the drops.

Persons suffering from cardiovascular diseases, pheochromocytoma and metabolic disorders can be prescribed Vial only when absolutely necessary. The same applies to people using MAO inhibitors or other drugs that increase blood pressure.

During pregnancy

Pregnancy is included in the list of contraindications for the use of Vial, however, in case of urgent need, the doctor can prescribe this drug to the expectant mother after a thorough assessment of the risk-benefit ratio.

Participates in the regulation of a number of body functions: impulses are carried through its fibers, causing an increase in metabolism, increased heart rate, vasoconstriction, pupil dilation, etc.), which causes vasoconstriction with a decrease in tissue swelling; reduces burning, irritation, itching ( Itching– a modified feeling of pain caused by irritation of the nerve endings of pain receptors), soreness and lacrimation. The vasoconstrictor effect develops a few minutes after instillation into the eye and lasts up to 4 hours.
Does not affect pupil size.
Pharmacokinetics. Tetrizoline is practically not absorbed when applied topically in therapeutic doses.

Indications for use

Eye irritation: itching, swelling and redness ( Hyperemia- plethora caused by increased blood flow to any organ or tissue area (arterial, active hyperemia) or obstructed outflow (venous, passive, congestive hyperemia). Accompanies any inflammation. Artificial hyperemia is caused for therapeutic purposes (compresses, heating pads, cups) of the conjunctiva, burning, lacrimation, injection of the sclera, caused by chemical and physical factors (dust, cosmetics, smoke, swimming in chlorinated water, exposure to bright light, wearing contact lenses). Allergic conjunctivitis.

Directions for use and doses

To open the bottle, you need to screw the cap all the way, and the spike on its inner surface should pierce the dropper of the bottle.
For adults and children over 6 years of age, instill 1-2 drops into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye 2 or 3 times a day.

Continuous use of the drug is possible for no more than 4 days.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to tetrizoline and other components of the drug. Glaucoma, epidermal endothelial dystrophy ( Dystrophy- pathological changes in cells of a regressive nature with disruption or loss of their functions) of the cornea ( Cornea- (cornea), the anterior transparent part of the outer shell of the eye, one of its light-refracting media). Children under 2 years of age.

Overdose

When using the drug according to the instructions, an overdose of eye drops is impossible.
The risk of overdose symptoms caused by system-wide absorption of the drug is high in young children, especially when swallowing drops.
Symptoms: pupil dilation, nausea, cyanosis, fever ( Fever– a special reaction of the body that accompanies many diseases and is manifested by an increase in body temperature. A febrile reaction most often occurs with infectious diseases, with the administration of medicinal serums and vaccines, with traumatic injuries, crushed tissue, etc.), convulsions, tachycardia ( Tachycardia- increase in heart rate to 100 or more beats per minute. Occurs with physical and nervous stress, diseases of the cardiovascular and nervous systems, diseases of the endocrine glands, etc.), arrhythmia ( Arrhythmia- disturbance of normal heart rhythm. Arrhythmia manifests itself in an increase in heart rate (tachycardia) or slowdown (bradycardia), in the appearance of premature or additional contractions (extrasystole), in attacks of heartbeat (paroxysmal tachycardia), in complete irregularity of the intervals between individual heart contractions (atrial fibrillation)), cardiac arrest, arterial hypertension ( Arterial hypertension– a disease characterized by an increase in blood pressure of more than 140/90 mm Hg. Art.), pulmonary edema, respiratory dysfunction and mental activity.
Excessive absorption of imidazole derivatives, which have alpha-sympathomimetic properties, can lead to depression of the central nervous system ( central nervous system- the main part of the nervous system, represented by the spinal cord and brain. Functionally, the peripheral and central nervous systems represent a single whole. The most complex and specialized part of the central nervous system is the cerebral hemispheres), accompanied by drowsiness, decreased body temperature, and bradycardia ( Bradycardia– a decrease in the number of heart contractions to 60 beats per minute or less (absolute bradycardia) or a lag between the increase in heart rate and the increase in body temperature), collapse, apnea and coma.
Treatment: If drops are swallowed, activated charcoal, gastric lavage, inhalation ( Inhalation- a method of treatment by inhaling medicinal substances sprayed using special devices) oxygen, antipyretic and anticonvulsants. Symptomatic treatment.

Features of application

Before using drops in children aged 2 to 6 years, consult a doctor. If signs of eye irritation persist within 48 hours, stop using the drug. Contact lenses should be removed before instilling the drug.
Very frequent use of the drug may cause redness of the eyes. Patients with severe cardiovascular diseases (coronary heart disease ( Cardiac ischemia– a chronic pathological process that is caused by insufficient blood supply to the myocardium. Most cases (97–98%) are the result of atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries of the heart. The main clinical forms are angina pectoris, myocardial infarction and coronarogenic (atherosclerotic) cardiosclerosis), arterial hypertension, pheochromocytoma) with metabolic disorders ( metabolism- a set of chemical reactions resulting in the synthesis or breakdown of substances and the release of energy; in the process of metabolism, the body perceives substances from the environment (mainly food), which, undergoing profound changes, turn into substances of the body itself, the constituent components of the body) (hyperthyroidism ( Hyperthyroidism- a syndrome caused by the effect of excess thyroxine and triiodothyronine on target tissue. Symptoms of activation of the sympathoadrenal system are characteristic: tachycardia, tremor, sweating, anxiety), diabetes mellitus), as well as in patients receiving inhibitors ( Inhibitors- chemicals that inhibit enzyme activity. Used to treat metabolic disorders) monoamine oxidase ( Monoamine oxidase- an enzyme that catabolizes monoamines) or other drugs that can increase blood pressure, the drug should be prescribed only in cases where the possible benefit outweighs the potential risk. The drug should be used with caution during pregnancy and lactation ( Lactation- secretion of milk by the mammary gland), given the insignificant possibility of developing general reactions. In rare cases, after using the drug, dilation of the pupil is observed and blurred vision occurs, which may affect the ability to drive a car or operate machinery.

Vial eye drops are used to relieve swelling and allergic reactions. However, this product has its own contraindications and application features.

In what cases should the medication be used, and for whom it is ideal.

Most often, Vial is used to combat the following problems:

  • elimination of an allergic reaction;
  • fight against catarrhal conjunctivitis;
  • removal of puffiness;
  • Elimination of irritation after exposure to dust or chlorinated water.

The drug Vial has an immediate effect, and the positive effect is relevant for four hours. The product can be used several times a day, it is not addictive.

Before starting treatment for glaucoma, read the instructions for Betoftan eye drops.

A gentler formula for the most sensitive eyes

If an allergic reaction or swelling occurs, you should not thoughtlessly use Vial drops. It is important to establish the cause of the problem, as well as the provoking factor. Most often, with the help of such a remedy it is possible to eliminate increased lacrimation, itching, irritation, and pain.

However, if the problem is directly related to the development of a serious disease of the internal organs, and swelling or redness is only one of the symptoms, then it will not be possible to defeat the disease with drops alone.

Vial Light drops are also popular, which are used to relieve swelling, irritation from chlorinated water, smoke and dust. This remedy perfectly helps to cope with the signs of conjunctivitis.

Carefully selected ingredients will help quickly eliminate allergy symptoms

The symptoms and treatment of allergic blepharitis are described in detail in the article.

Redness and watery eyes are allergy symptoms

The medicine has its own restrictions on use. What contraindications should you know about before purchasing Vial:

  1. Drops are not recommended for use in children under three years of age.
  2. Restrictions apply to lactation and pregnancy.
  3. If you are hypersensitive to tetrizoline, you should not use the drug.

  5. In case of epidermal endothelial dystrophy of the cornea, the use of the drug is also limited.

The combined use of drops with soft contact lenses is considered a unique contraindication. Doctors advise not to use such vision correction products during eye treatment.

Do not combine Vial drops with other eye treatments. Experts emphasize that this product has low compatibility with other drops due to the presence of tetrizoline in the composition. This component is incompatible with monoamine oxidase inhibitors.

Use the drug only after consulting a doctor

For people diagnosed with farsighted astigmatism, Biofinity toric lenses will help to comfortably correct their vision.

According to the manufacturer, the product has no serious side effects. However, when using drops you can still encounter the following problems:

  • pain;
  • burning in the eyes;
  • severe redness;
  • increased blood pressure;
  • drowsiness and hypothermia.

The manufacturer emphasizes that the dosage of use should not be exceeded. In rare cases, an overdose of drops may cause lethargy and even coma. That is why if too much of the composition gets into your eyes, it is recommended to rinse them immediately.

If the patient accidentally swallows the drug, it is necessary to immediately perform gastric lavage using activated charcoal.

A tear analogue will help eliminate swelling and fatigue

Attention, a dangerous symptom - what to do when it hurts to move your eyes and your head hurts.

Vial drops do not have specific instructions for use. The main nuance concerns the temperature of the product, which should be equal to body temperature. That is why it is recommended to hold the bottle in your hands for a couple of minutes before use.

Doctors urge not to touch the tip of the bottle to the eye itself, as this can cause infection.

After instillation, you should close your eyes and do not open them for 1-2 minutes so that the components of the drug do not spread.
