Altai Territory is located in the southeast of Western Siberia. It borders in the north with the Novosibirsk region, in the east with the Kemerovo region, in the southeast with the Altai Republic, in the south and west with Kazakhstan.

The ski season in the Altai Territory begins in December and ends in mid-April. The best time for skiing is considered to be the second half of February - mid-March.

Belokurikha

Belokurikha is a resort located in the spurs of the Cherginsky ridge at an altitude of 240-250 meters above sea level, in the valley of the mountain river Belokurikha. The southern part of the resort is bordered by fairly high mountains. They are covered with lush evergreen coniferous vegetation. At the tops there are granite rocks of bizarre shape.

The height of the snow cover is from 48 to 50 cm.

The resort is located in a calm place. The average January temperature is 17°C. Frosty days in winter quickly give way to thaws, and there are a very large number of sunny days a year. There are no large differences in atmospheric pressure, and the air saturated with beneficial ions gives vigor and well-being.

These places are rich in underground warm sources of nitrogen-radon water, enriched with unique salts (source temperatures from 27°C to 42°C).

The mild winter surpasses the climate of Switzerland in terms of the number of sunny days and the healing properties of the air.

The elevation difference at the resort is 510 meters. The total length of the trails is 25 km, there are illuminated trails. The longest route is 2,500 m. There are five lifts.

Ski slopes

The route in the resort area near the Katun and Siberia sanatoriums is located on the southern slope. The drag lift is located 100 m from the sanatoriums. The length of the route is 960 m, the height difference is 190 m. The period of operation is from the end of November to mid-March.

The route in the resort area near the Katun and Siberia sanatoriums is located on the northern slope. The drag lift is located 100 m from the sanatoriums. The length of the route is 800 m, the elevation difference is 200 m. The period of operation is from the end of November to mid-March.

The route on the mountain "Tserkovka" (lift 350 m from the sanatorium "Katun"): chairlift 2-seater, length of the lift 2050 m (ascent time 25 minutes), length of the route - about 3 km, height difference 510 m. Validity period - from December to the end of March.

Ski complex "Lake Aya"

The skiing season here is open from early December to late March. The complex is located on the territory of the Altai Territory, but it is more convenient to get here from the Altai Republic. The distance from Gorno-Altaisk to the complex is about 25 kilometers.

The ski complex is equipped with a 600 m long ski slope, located in a picturesque location on the left bank of the Katun River, near the unique Lake Aya. The lift is carried out by a single-seat ski tow.

Avalman

The only place for ski holidays in Barnaul is the Avalman complex, located in the mountainous part of the city on the slopes of the Ob River. The complex is a network of interconnected, well-prepared trails of varying difficulty levels. One of the tracks is illuminated, which allows you to continue skiing at night.

Winter entertainment complex "Mount Veselaya"

Designed for family holidays. Here you can enjoy winter nature and have a wonderful rest.

You can climb to the top of the mountain by rope tow in just over 4 minutes. 500 meters of ascent with a height difference of 150 meters. From the top there is an amazing view of winter Altai. The track is illuminated and therefore suitable for night skiing. The descent, combined with slopes from 25 to 45 degrees, allows you to choose the optimal route depending on your riding style. On weekends, an experienced trainer will help you master alpine skiing if you have not yet learned how to ski.

On a separate slope of Mount Veselaya there is a sled lift for sledding, snowplaning, and snow scootering. This is a real extreme and is not suitable for everyone. You can also choose a flatter route for the descent. Only adults and children with their parents can ride on the toboggan run.

There is a snow compactor or snowcat on all trails.

The complex is equipped with an ice slide. Its length is about 100 meters, the height difference is 12 meters. The slide has several turns that turn into a vertical.

Gorynya

The Gorynya slope is located 1.5 km from the Adaru boarding house, located on the banks of the Katun, 8 km from the Aisky Bridge. This is a slope of northwestern exposure, its average steepness is 18 degrees, the elevation difference is about 170 m. The length of the descents is 1500 m (670 m and 830 m). There are drag lifts, jumps and a track for snowboarders.

Altai Republic

The Altai Republic is located in the extreme southeast of Western Siberia within the Altai mountain system. It borders in the north-west and north with the Altai Territory, in the north-east with the Kemerovo region, in the east with the Republics of Khakassia and Tuva, in the south with Mongolia and China and in the south-west with Kazakhstan.

Ski resort "Manzherok"

The complex is located at the foot of Mount Sinyukha, next to Lake Manzherokskoye. Trails of varying difficulty levels with a height difference of 800 m; artificial snow system, rope tows and chair lifts.

Mount Tugay

The ski slopes are located directly within the city limits of Gorno-Altaisk. The name of Mount Tugay (641 m) probably comes from the Altai phrase tuu kaya - "rocky mountain"

Three routes with a height difference of 350 m and a length of 1050-1400 m are laid along the southern slope of Mount Tugay, which closes the intermountain basin in which the city is located from the north. The slope is characterized by a varied topography, the presence of rather steep local ledges, hillocks and relatively flat sections, which allows for a variety of skiing options and the complexity of the routes. The lift is carried out by a two-seater ski tow. Another route, simpler, is located on the slope of Mount Komsomolskaya, on the opposite bank of the Maima River.

Educational and training center "Seminsky Pass"

It is located on the 235th km of the Chuysky tract, between the villages of Topuchaya and Tuekta, approximately 150 km from Gorno-Altaisk. Seminsky Pass on the section from Biysk to Ini is the highest point of the Chuisky tract (1894 m), where cedar taiga alternates with areas of subalpine meadows. The base of the center itself is located at an altitude of 1780 m. Initially, it was intended for training skiers and biathletes in mid-mountain conditions, but in recent years it has also served as a tourist complex. Due to the high altitude, snow remains on the pass for a long time. There is a single ski tug operating here, serving a 750 m long track, laid in a magnificent cedar forest.

The average duration of the skiing season on Seminsky Pass is 5 months (from late November to early May).

Mountain Shoria

Mountain Shoria occupies the southern part of the Kemerovo region and is geographically part of the Altai mountain system. It is a medium-altitude mountain (up to 2100 m), dissected by two rivers - Mras-Su and Kondoma. Shoria stretches for 170 km from north to south from the Tom River to the Biyskaya Griva and for 100 km from west to east from the Salair Ridge to the Abakan Range. Its area is 13.5 thousand square kilometers.

Nature itself has created unique conditions here for the development of skiing and tourism: the steepness of the slopes, the duration of the snow cover - 7 months, clear moderately frosty weather without wind, light "cold" snow, which not every ski resort in the world can boast of.

Green Mountain (Sheregesh village)

Sheregesh is a village in the Tashtagol district of the Kemerovo region, at the foot of Mount Mustag. In recent years, Sheregesh has gained fame as a ski resort. The trails are located on the slopes of Mount Zelenaya.

The duration of the season is from November to May.

There are trails of varying difficulty ranging from 700 to 2400 meters in length, including a track specifically for children. If you don't know how to ride, an instructor will teach you.

At the Sheregesh ski resort you can ski, snowboard, and sled. The slopes of Mount Zelenaya are suitable for both regular and extreme skiing.

The high level of the Green Mountain slopes is recognized by specialists from the International Ski and Snowboard Federation. Professional and amateur Russian Alpine Skiing Championships have been held here several times.

Mountain "Bear Cub" (Shalym village)

The ski center of the same name is located in the very “heart” of Gornaya Shoria, 18 km from the city of Tashtagol. The tracks are 1350 and 1750 meters long and 50 meters wide. The height difference is 300 meters. On the mountain there is a ropeway and a ski school.

The flow of tourists to Gorny Altai increases every year. In 2016, 2 million people visited the republic, many of them vacationed at ski resorts. Altai has good conditions for skiing surrounded by magnificent nature.

Natural conditions of the region

The Altai Mountains irresistibly attract travelers - romantics and connoisseurs of wildlife, ski lovers and pilgrims going to holy places. Altai ski resorts are constantly being improved; in recent years, skiers from 60 countries have visited the region.

The climate of the republic's zones is determined by the altitude and surrounding landscape. In the lower Altai, winter is quite mild; in January the frost is usually no stronger than -10-15°. In the lowland areas of the Siberian region, winter is much harsher.

High in the mountains it is very cold, the slopes of the highest mountain - the “queen” Belukha - are covered with ice even in summer, the peaks are covered with eternal snow. There is icy cold in many mountain basins - so in winter in the Chui steppe with temperatures below -30°, skiers have nothing to do. At the end of winter, avalanches are possible in mountain areas - careless tourists are in danger.

It is wiser to spend your ski holiday in Altai under the tutelage of experienced instructors. Almost all ski resorts in Altai are located in places with a favorable climate - at an altitude of 200-1000 meters. The highest altitude is the Seminsky pass (1717 m).

At the bases, tourists learn the basics of skiing, warm up after being in the frosty air, and immerse themselves in a variety of entertainment. Altai ski resorts provide guests with all the conditions for an interesting and healthy holiday.

New ski complex Artybash

In November 2015, an important event took place in the tourist region - another resort was opened on Lake Teletskoye, 150 km away from Gorno-Altaisk. In December 2016, a double chairlift with a length of 1300 m also began operation. Alpine skiing in Altai is very popular, and the location of the complex, which challenged Sheregesh, is very successful.

Lake Teletskoye is a favorite place for guests of the republic; it has good infrastructure. In the tourist villages of Yogach and Artybash, located 4-5 km from the new resort, there are dozens of hotels and camp sites. Opportunities for snowmobiling, dog sledding, tubing and other seasonal activities abound. Excursions to suit every taste are also offered in winter.

Lake Teletskoye has the longest ski slopes in Altai. Two routes - 1600 m and 1000 m long, with a drop of 260 m and a width of 50-80 m, are laid along gentle and steep slopes.

From a height of 1380 m, from the top of Mount Kokuya, only experienced athletes descend. The elevation difference here is 840 m, the length of the descent is 3500 m, the ascent is carried out on snowmobiles.

Cross-country skiing is also popular in the Altai Mountains; amateurs use a special track. A baby lift serves the 150 m long tubing track, and snowboarders make ski jumps.

There is a cafe, a large illuminated skating rink, equipment rental, a first-aid post and much more. At the foot of a high snow-capped mountain there is a small hotel “Edelweiss”, but the main stream of tourists lives in tourist centers on the coast of Lake Teletskoye.

Artybash hosts alpine skiing competitions in the Altai Mountains, snowboarding competitions, and downhill competitions in the summer. Experienced skiers have already appreciated the advantages of the new complex. However, the Manzherok complex is more suitable for teaching beginners.

Ski resort Manzherok

On the picturesque Lake Manzherok the all-season resort Manzherok is located, its capacity is 221 people. There are excellent conditions for family recreation and training of future athletes. Winter holidays in Altai are organized impeccably by the ski resort.

There is a school for training beginner skiers “Smartsnow”, an excellent training slope (255 m) with a rope tow. There is a cross-country ski track along Lake Manzherokskoye, and there is a tubing track (180 m) with a baby lift.

The longest chairlift in Siberia (2389 m) operates in the complex all year round.

It is used in summer excursion mode with a rise time of 30 minutes, and in winter accelerated mode with a rise time of 15 minutes.

Skiers get off at the middle station, from which a rope tow operates (820 m). The length of the ski slopes is 1200 m and 1050 m. For experienced athletes, the descent lasts about a minute - for professionals it is a bit boring here. You can have fun with dog sledding or snowmobile safaris.

Vacationers are offered excursions inside the resort and with trips. On the top platform of the mountain, tourists get acquainted with the ethnopark, the museum of Altai culture, and try national food in a yurt cafe. Professional photographers photograph vacationers against the backdrop of amazing nature with a shaman, the “Golden Woman,” and a living golden eagle.

In winter, there are children's and sports grounds, an ice skating rink, and a fun park with rides, trampolines and other entertainment. The food is well organized, including fast food. Bath lovers take a steam bath in Altai style in the cottages of the bath complex. The resort actively hosts corporate and festive events.

Seminsky Pass complex

Almost all ski resorts in Altai are rightfully called resorts - the cleanest air filled with the aromas of forests, the magical nature around and active sports activities provide a powerful healing effect. Such is the Seminsky Pass complex near Mount Tiakhta - the highest in Siberia, it is located a kilometer from the Chuisky tract (583 km).

The snowy period lasts longer here than in other places - from the end of October to the May holidays. The trails are mostly easy, suitable for beginners, only the upper part of the slope is difficult. Extreme seekers are taken on snowmobiles to Mount Sarlyk, where they enjoy the free descent - freeride and forest skiing.

At Seminsky Pass there is a drag lift with a length of 1040 m. You can go down one of three slopes, the length of the tracks is 600-1040 m, the height difference is up to 205 m. The Seminsky Pass training center was built in 1987 as a large training center for ski athletes . And now the camp site is used for training, but now it is available to tourists.

There is a hostel hotel, a rental skating rink, a bathhouse with a swimming pool, and a gym. Fans of winter fun climb to the snow tubing track under their own power.

Complexes of Gorno-Altaisk

Alpine skiing is popular in the Altai Mountains and among residents of the capital of the republic, Gorno-Altaisk, and guests. The Tugaya ski complex has been operating in the city since 1974 - a famous landmark of the capital; republican competitions in snowboarding and alpine skiing are held here. The complex has three trails with a length of 1250-1500 m, a height difference of up to 320 m. Due to the heterogeneity of the mountain topography, the trails are considered difficult and are suitable only for experienced athletes.

On Tugai there are two rope tows, 200 m of the track are illuminated. Downstairs there is a cozy cafe, equipment rental. The slopes are located on the southern slope; the skiing period is determined by the nature of the winter - usually from the end of November to February-March.

On Mount Komsomolskaya, which is a 5-minute walk from the center of Gorno-Altaisk, the season is a little longer - the mountain is located on the southwestern side, the snow melts more slowly. There is a rope tow here, the length of the track for athletes is about 300 m, the height difference is up to 140 m. Even here it is uncomfortable for beginners - the slope is large, the slope is hard.

There are many ski resorts in the Altai Territory. Turquoise Katun, Davegor, Vesyolaya Mountain and Belokurikha are widely known.

The survey shows that more than 60% of guests skiing in Altai are over 50 years old. Respectable people maintain an enviable physical shape and vitality thanks to outdoor sports activities. A worthy example to follow!

There are not many ski resorts located on the slopes of the Altai Mountains. Sheregesh especially stands out among its neighbors. The complex, which was built on the slopes of Mount Zelenaya, is the largest in the Kemerovo region.

The resort is located within the boundaries of the massif called Gornaya Shoria. The complex is equipped according to international standards. The unique weather conditions add to the popularity of Shergesh. The ski season here lasts from November to May (one of the longest seasons in the entire country, not counting the Arctic Circle), and the snow of Sheregesh - dry and lush - does not stick together, which makes the resort a paradise for freeriders.

By plane

The nearest airports to Sheregesh are in the cities of Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk and Novosibirsk. The farthest of these cities is Novosibirsk (500 kilometers to the resort), but it is convenient for those who do not live in the capital - planes fly here from many Russian cities, while there are flights to Kemerovo (370 km) or Novokuznetsk (170 km) flights only from Moscow.

Travel time from Moscow to Siberia - about 4 hours.

Ticket price- 7000-9000 rubles one way. At the same time, the time and price do not change much depending on the chosen destination airport, but the further path to Sheregesh depends on this choice (more details below, in the “Public Transport” section).

The only exception is the “Winter Tale” train, which runs from Novosibirsk to the “Tourist” station (it takes 15 minutes by bus to the slopes of Mount Zelenaya from there). The train runs throughout the ski season (November-May) on a 3-in-3 schedule (3 days break after 3 days of work). Visitors are picked up from airports or train stations. During periods of low temperatures, the price may rise.

Resort Description

Over the past 15 years, Sheregesh has achieved a lot. The level of equipment here is the best in all of Siberia, but there are not many trails. All equipped slopes are located within Mount Zelenaya and occupy an altitude level of 600-1270 meters.

Officially, the Sheregesh ski resort also includes the slopes of three more neighboring mountains, which are called Mustag, Kurgan and Utuya. Mount Green is the lowest of these four, and the highest is Mustag (1570 meters). The slopes of three undeveloped mountains can be used for freeride.

The variety of natural conditions makes Sheregesh interesting for visitors of any level of training, and the presence of the FIS standard allows various competitions to be held here (including stages of the Russian ski championships).

By 2016, the resort management plans to increase the number of slopes to 31, lifts to 15, equip slopes on all four peaks, build hotels and entertainment centers. In the meantime, Sheregesh already boasts the largest snow park in Russia.

Ski season

Specific weather conditions are partly determined by the geographical location of Gornaya Shoria. This region is surrounded on three sides by mountain ranges, and only one has access to the plain. Thus, Snow cover here can last from mid-November to early May.

Skiing season temperatures are within -10 – -15 degrees.

Average snow thickness is 1-1.5 meters, sometimes this value reaches 4 meters. The snow itself is also interesting - it is called “dry” and “cold” (it hardly sticks and maintains its shape well).

Sports infrastructure

The Sheregesh ski complex is represented by equipped slopes, lifts and “wild” slopes. In addition, there is a snow park with tracks and equipment for fans of tricks, a climbing wall with an accurate imitation of the surface of the mountain, and ski schools for children and adults. For freeriders, there is the possibility of delivery to the slope using a snowmobile or snowcat.

Ski passes

A feature of modern Sheregesh is the lack of a single ski pass for all lifts.

The resort has several operators who maintain their lifts. Lift passes are only valid on lifts of the same operator.

The situation is complicated by the fact that sometimes it is impossible to get to the desired route on the lift of one operator. Below are prices in rubles for one-time lifts and passes, sorted by lift operator.

There is also a drag lift from the tourist base “Medvezhonok” to the “Sector E” highway. Its price is 50 rubles per lift; no subscriptions are provided. The ski lift is free for those staying at the camp site.

To save money, decide in advance which slopes you are going to ski on and buy passes from the relevant operators for the required period.

Lifts

The total number of lifts on Sheregesh is 17. Of these, there are 5 chairlifts, 9 drag lifts, 2 gondola lifts and 1 combined Panorama lift (gondola + chairlift).

At the resort, the lifts operate on the principle of 1 track - 1 operator - 1 lift. Almost every road is dedicated to a separate descent. But in total there are at least two lifts per route, since different operators serve different roads.

Thus, the “Khlebnitsa” and “Bulochka” lifts operate on the “Dollar” route (height - 1300 meters - the slope of Mount Mustag). At the same time, “Bun” delivers visitors only to the middle of the descent.

The “Lob” and “Elena” trails, which start on Mount Zelenaya (1270 meters), are served by 6 rope tows (4 of which are included in the 1st stage, that is, they do not reach the very top).

Two more routes descending from the top of Zelenaya are “Panorama” and “Sky Way”. They operate 4 lifts (gondola, 2 rope tows and a chair gondola). The Sector E route (also 1270 meters - Green Mountain) has its own gondola road.

Trails

In total, Sheregesh has 15 trails, the total length of which is 23 kilometers. All tracks are divided into 4 types according to their difficulty (“green”, “blue”, “red” and “black”). But most trails combine several levels of difficulty. So, the resort has:

Off-piste descents for freeriding

Mount Zelenaya and its neighboring peaks are perfect for those who like to descend unequipped slopes. The central peak of Sheregesh can offer freeriders descent from the eastern and western sides. The forest in the east is sparser, and the slope itself is gentle. The western forest is dense, there are almost no clearings here.

Freeriders can get to the slopes of the Mustag and Kurgan mountains (the most interesting slopes in terms of descent are located there) on snowmobiles. In addition, everyone is transported to two more points by snowcats.

At the end of November - beginning of December, a freeride school is held annually in Sheregesh, where experienced instructors teach everyone the freeride technique.

Instructors and schools

During the ski season, schools are held in Sheregesh, where through theoretical and practical classes you can learn the skills of skiing or snowboarding.

Ski schools for adults are held in early and mid-December, New Year's Eve, mid-February and late March.

Specific dates vary depending on the season. Prices also vary from year to year, but on average the cost is 10,000-12,000 rubles for 5-7 days of school (the school’s maximum price is during the New Year). Freeride school is a little cheaper - from 9,000 rubles.

In addition, private instructors work at the resort throughout the season. You can find them directly at the foot of the mountain, near the ski lifts and at the top of Zelenaya. The main rule is to always check the instructor’s certificate, which confirms the specialist’s level of qualification. The prices for instructors are the same - 1000 rubles per hour per person. When training 2 or more people, discounts are provided; working with children will cost a little more.

The resort has a children's ski school "Tevalyashka" especially for children. It offers training programs separately for children aged 3-7 years (“ski nursery”) and separately for children from 7 years old. The youngest school visitors can learn to ski on a fenced-off training slope. Groups of older children can also practice there and learn the skills of skiing and snowboarding.

School "Tumbler" located at the exit of sector A, near the beginning of the ski lifts.
Operating mode: from 9 to 17, group classes begin at 10, 12 and 14.
Price: 1000 rubles per hour per person (for two – 500 rubles per hour, 3 or more – 400 rubles per hour).
