AIDS center in St. Petersburg on the bypass canal. View doctors' appointment schedule Attention! Due to technical problems on the telephone line, the telephones work intermittently. We apologize for any inconvenience

In 1987, when the first HIV-infected patients appeared, at the city infectious diseases hospital No. 30 named after. S.P. Botkin organized a consultation and dispensary office (CDC) to monitor HIV-infected people. Later (1989), the CDC acquired the status of a city Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS. At this time, the Center did not have its own premises and was still located on the territory of the city infectious diseases hospital No. 30 named after. S. P. Botkina.

In 1991, premises were allocated for the Center at the Yuventa Center for Adolescent Reproductive Health, where it was located until 1997. Finally, in 1998, the Center received independent premises and a new legal address, where it is still located, or rather, its outpatient department.

Currently, after the merger of the AIDS Center with Infectious Diseases Hospital No. 10 (city Hepatology Center), and this happened in 2002, the Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS acquired not only an outpatient department, but also its own hospital. This is the only Center in Russia where there is both a clinic and a hospital, which allows us to provide a full range of services for HIV-infected patients in the city.

The organization of new inpatient departments, such as the department of viral infections, associated diseases with the Mother and Child ward, palliative medicine with the Hospice, as well as the department of surgery and gynecology and others, made it possible to transfer patient care to a higher modern level. Hospital AIDS Center The Center's polyclinic is also developing; departments such as outpatient, preventive and general clinical are organized here. The Hepatology Center has been preserved, where a registration system for patients with chronic viral hepatitis (often combined with HIV infection) has been introduced, which makes it possible to accumulate information about these patients, analyze available information, carry out dynamic monitoring of patients, and identify those who need specific therapy.

Thus, the St. Petersburg State Healthcare Institution “Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS and Infectious Diseases” represents a comprehensive medical structure, fully integrated into the city’s healthcare system.
