- We performed ultrafine microvascular operations. We repaired pianos instead of throwing them away and sitting down to the synthesizer. Now this is forgotten. Dentures are inserted there. There were prosthetics in the 70s - simple silicone rods. We cut the membranes, inserted thick metal sticks into the cavernous bodies... moving them back and forth, completely destroyed the cavernous bodies, at the same time determined their length and inserted silicone rods according to size. I used to have them lying around everywhere... they were so blue... there was a factory in Rostov, they were worth nothing.
- But how can this be, since “there was no sex” in the Soviet Union? Why then prosthetics?
- There was no sex, but there was a penis - such an interesting distortion in the consciousness of the Bolsheviks. The Soviet Union signed the WHO preamble, which talks about the medical role of the psychosocial component of the individual.

Inside the groove formed by the corpora cavernosa, which is also located at the depth of the corpus spongiosum, lies the urethra. The proximal direction was chosen by the thickening that is present in the corpus spongiosum. It is also called an onion. It is impossible to notice it without special objects, since it is hidden under a layer of bulbocavernosus muscle.

The tricky body is covered with fabric, which in its structure resembles the most ordinary sponge. It includes a considerable number of tiny lacunae, or caverns. Each of them is capable of changing its own volume, simply by changing the tone of the smooth muscle elements, namely the trabecular muscles, which are located inside the walls of the caverns. Almost all the tissue belonging to the tricky body is smooth muscle cells that work together not only with each other, but also with a small number of connective tissue fibers. After such communication, they are applied to the tunica albuginea. These bodies work to create cords that are saturated with vascular capillaries and nerves. The tissue of such a body is made entirely of endothelial cells.

In terms of anatomy, the tricky body can be divided into a distal zone or apex - the apex, the middle zone, and the proximal zone, that is, the leg. In its apical zone, all bodies are covered with the glans penis, which, by the way, belongs to one of the parts of the corpus spongiosum. In the area of ​​the pubic symphysis, the cavernous bodies diverge on different sides, that is, they move both down and backward, thereby running parallel to the ischial branches of the pubic bones, to which the ligaments are attached.

Just in the area of ​​the pubic symphysis, these bodies are attached to the bones themselves with the help of an unpaired funnel-shaped ligament. By the way, during the erection process, tricky bodies you can feel it. They look like cushions placed on the sides of the penis. The corpus spongiosum does not harden even during an erection, as it would form a barrier to the urethra, that is, not allowing ejaculation to occur.

The main function performed by the corpora cavernosa is to produce an erection of the penis, namely its enlargement, as well as hardening upon arousal. During sexual arousal, there is an increase in the lumen of the cavernous arteries and also the volume of the caverns and arteries, due to the fact that nitric oxide enters inside, thereby bringing the trabecular muscles and the walls of the cavernous arteries into a relaxed state. Veins, unlike these vessels, decrease in diameter without letting blood out. Thus, the required volume of blood is collected inside the bodies, thereby bringing the lacunae into a tense state, that is, an erection occurs. The blood vessels remain in this state throughout the erection. Moreover, the tissues of the penis, with the exception of the skin, are not filled with blood, that is, they enter a period of ischemia. With an erection, a man can perform coitus, which is so necessary for the reproduction process, and for his own satisfaction. Norepinephrine is released only after ejaculation, that is, a rapid process of blood outflow from the penis itself occurs. Because of this, the erection gradually begins to fade, and then stops altogether. True, in an excited state, she does not take her maximum at any moment, but only when it is necessary to insert a penis into a woman’s vagina.

tunica albuginea, surrounding the tricky bodies, is a case, inside of which there is also connective tissue quite elastic. During an erection, this membrane stretches in all directions, that is, enlarging the penis equally on each side. The tunica albuginea also covers the corpus spongiosum. Its fabric resembles a structure, inside of which there are gaps. Elastic fibers are also present inside it. This structure allows fluid to move through and also allows the lumen of the urethra to connect, preventing urination or ejaculation.
