Devices differ in their set of characteristics and functions. Mods with a larger battery capacity will last longer when comparing e-cigarettes set to the same power levels and with the same clearomizers. Some features of e-cigarettes increase energy consumption, so a larger battery is always a good thing. However, we should not forget that as the battery capacity increases, the dimensions and weight of the device also increase. What is varivolt?

Varivolt is a mod feature that gives its owner the ability to change the voltage supplied by the battery. Using this, you can adjust the “operating” voltage supplied to the heating element, making it more or less. Varivolt is suitable for those vapers who want to independently adjust the voltage values to the set resistance of the evaporator.

Changing the voltage will be useful when changing a clearomizer to overcome its resistance and obtain the same taste as the previous clearomizer. For example, 3.5 Volts for a clearomizer with a resistance of 1.8 Ohms may be enough for the average vaper, but for a clearomizer with a resistance of 2.2 Ohms it is no longer enough. Varivolt allows you to avoid this problem and increase the output voltage. The higher the voltage, the more flavor, the steam, the faster the heating occurs and the stronger the throat hit. What is variwatt?

Variwatt is an improved version of varivolt. In contrast, it allows you to regulate not the voltage, but the power, while the mod board independently “recognizes” the resistance of the spiral and adjusts the voltage automatically, saving you from unnecessary settings.

The advantage of the variable watt is that you can set a power value that is comfortable for you (for example, 15 Watt), and the mod will “remember” it, independently adapting to new clearomizers. You install a subohm (if the mod supports them) clear with a resistance of up to 1 ohm or a standard 2.2 ohm - the e-cigarette will produce an honest 15 watts.

What is the difference between variwatt and varivolt?

Both variwatt and varivolt allow you to adjust the voltage of the coil, but they do it in slightly different ways. Varivolt allows you to directly adjust the voltage supplied to the coil. It does not take into account the resistance of the clearomizer - this must be done by the vaper himself, choosing the optimal value.

Variwatt regulates not voltage, but power, automatically determining the resistance of the clear and adjusting the supplied voltage to it. If you set, for example, 15 Watts, then the device itself will “understand” how many Volts need to be supplied to the installed clear. In addition, the set 15 watts will remain, even if you replace the evaporator with another one with excellent resistance. In the case of a varivolt, the adjustment would have to be done independently.

Variwatt is more convenient to use and suitable for beginners. It is an improved version of varivolt and is more often found in mods. Varivolt can be chosen if you want to save money or better understand the principle of operation of an electronic cigarette. In all other cases, variwatt is preferable. However, many devices combine the functions of variwatt and varivolt.

What is thermal control?

Thermal control is a new product for 2015 that has made a real breakthrough in vaping. It improves the concept of variable watts and regulates not the power of the coil, but directly its temperature. Temperature control is only possible on titanium or nickel evaporators, so in addition to a mod that “can” regulate the temperature, you need to buy an appropriate clearomizer. Such a clear should support the installation of nickel and titanium evaporators or allow you to create your own windings from similar wire.

Temperature control changes the power supplied to the coil, making it less when the coil heats up above the set values, and allowing it to “cool down”. Thanks to this, several positive effects are achieved at once:

The downside is the high cost of consumables, these same nickel or titanium evaporators. Mods come with removable batteries or built-in ones. The debate about which is better does not subside among vapers, so let’s just give the facts:
