Folk remedies. Runny nose. Treatment of a runny nose with folk remedies And folk remedies, what to do

The most common cold symptoms are:

  • runny nose
  • cough
  • a sore throat
  • sore throat
  • headache
  • elevated body temperature

Well, first of all, doctors recommend resting for at least a few days. It is best to sleep, the body is weakened by a cold and needs strength to recover. Some vitamins are especially useful for colds. Vitamin C is very important and necessary for colds. Vitamin C eases the course of the disease and promotes a speedy recovery.

IN large doses found in citrus fruits, but citrus fruits can only be consumed if you are not allergic to them. Vitamin C is also found in black currants, cranberries, viburnum, strawberries, apples, and rose hips. Research by scientists has proven that you can quickly cure a cold by taking vitamins, and the diet should also be fortified and balanced; all this shortens the time of illness and reduces the risk of complications that a common cold can entail.

When you have a cold, you need to drink as much fluid as possible. The liquid helps remove toxins from the body and compensates for moisture loss due to excessive sweating. It is advisable to drink everything warm. You can drink tea, uzvar, compote, herbs. If you have a cold, you need to drink at least two liters of fluid a day.

Do not forget that the room you are in must be constantly ventilated and moistened. Ventilate the room every 2 hours; wet cleaning will not hurt.

If there is no temperature, you can take a warm bath and steam your feet. You also need to rinse your nose several times. saline solution, it’s quite easy to prepare, dissolve half a teaspoon of sea salt in a glass of warm boiled water. Rinse your nose with your head tilted over the sink. Every year we bring sea water from the sea and sea water I wash my children’s and myself’s noses. Children themselves ask to rinse their nose when they feel difficulty breathing.

Healing drinks for colds

Chamomile tea. An excellent anti-inflammatory agent, and in combination with linden and natural honey it is a good remedy for colds. Making tea is simple, you need to take one teaspoon of chamomile and linden, pour a glass of boiling water, leave for about 20 minutes, add a spoonful of honey and drink warm, 2-3 times a day.

Ginger tea. My very first remedy for a cold is ginger tea, which also has a warming effect. To a glass of hot water you need to add half a teaspoon of chopped ginger, a spoonful of lemon juice and a spoonful of honey, you can optionally add mint leaves, or simply cut into thin slices and add to tea. For a glass of tea or boiling water, 3-4 thin slices are enough.

Dried fruit uzvar. This vitamin remedy for colds also has a general strengthening and softening effect. Dried apples, pears, plums, apricots, cherries, and strawberries are good for uzvar. Dried fruits are thoroughly washed, then filled with water and cooked like a regular compote, the most important thing is to let the compote brew.

Infusion of rose hips. An infusion of rose hips is simply irreplaceable for colds, it perfectly quenches thirst, has an anti-inflammatory effect, but most importantly, it contains a lot of much-needed vitamin C, this drink helps us quickly cure a cold. Chop 3 tablespoons of rose hips, pour half a liter of boiling water into them in a thermos and leave overnight. In the morning, filter and take half a glass before meals. You can optionally add honey to this infusion.

Cranberry juice. Cranberries have anti-inflammatory, bactericidal properties, and are rich in vitamin C. You can read more about cranberries and their benefits for our body in my article. Cranberries are ground with granulated sugar in a ratio of 3:1, two tablespoons of ground cranberries with sugar are poured into half a liter of warm boiled water, everything is mixed, healing drink ready.

Milk and honey. Milk with honey is also one of the first remedies for colds and viral diseases. Warm milk is mixed with honey, a teaspoon of honey is added to a glass of milk, you can also add cocoa butter or regular butter, which perfectly softens the throat and soothes coughs. Drink warm milk and honey.

Tea with raspberries and linden. Raspberries and linden help us quickly cure a cold, and they are also proven folk remedies. Raspberries and linden have antipyretic, diaphoretic, and anti-inflammatory properties. I always have grated raspberries and sugar in my refrigerator. Pour a glass of boiling water over a teaspoon of raspberries and a spoonful of linden, cover, leave to steep for 20 minutes, strain and drink this drink warm.

Tea with viburnum. Tea with viburnum has an anti-inflammatory, diaphoretic effect, and reduces fever well. Only viburnum has contraindications; it should not be used if you have low blood pressure.
As a rule, we want to quickly cure a cold with folk remedies, but we still have to treat the cold for at least 2-3 days. It is best to take action at the first signs of its manifestation, otherwise everything may worsen and cause complications in the lungs, heart and other organs; people with chronic diseases are most susceptible to complications.

Folk remedies for runny nose during colds

If a cold is accompanied by a runny nose, then folk remedies for a runny nose will come in handy. Folk remedies can be used to cure a runny nose due to influenza, ARVI, and colds. In combination with hot teas from linden, raspberry, lemon, cranberry, these products have a good effect.

Kalanchoe significantly relieves the condition of a runny nose. It is enough to lubricate the nose with juice from a fresh Kalanchoe leaf several times a day. Place 3 drops of fresh beet juice in each nostril or you can put fresh carrot juice in your nose. You can put onion juice in your nose, but first you need to dilute it with water 1:1. You can also drip aloe juice into your nose.

When a runny nose begins, warming the nose helps maxillary sinuses. To do this, you can use a boiled egg or bags of heated salt.

To stop a runny nose, inhalation prepared with an infusion of calendula, sage, chamomile, St. John's wort, and eucalyptus will not hurt. After inhalation, lubricate your nose with fir oil.

Sore throat with a cold, treatment with folk remedies

When we all have a cold, we ask ourselves the question of how to quickly cure a cold and preferably with folk remedies, so that there is less chemicals. But if the symptoms of a cold are also accompanied by pain in the neck, then here too there will be folk recipes to cope with this illness. When I have a sore throat, gargling and drinking warm water always helps.

I gargle with this solution: add a teaspoon of salt, soda and three drops of iodine to a glass of boiling water. You can also prepare this rinse, it’s certainly not very good, but it’s worth it. Take a glass of warm water, add a teaspoon of salt, soda, and the white of one chicken egg to it, mix it all well, the white coats the sore throat well. You need to gargle 5 times a day. Usually, after a couple of days of gargling, the pain in the throat goes away.

You can gargle with a decoction of herbs, it can be a decoction of eucalyptus, sage, calendula, chamomile. To prepare it this way: pour 1 teaspoon of herbs into a glass of boiling water, simmer over low heat for 3 minutes, leave to infuse for 20 minutes, then strain and bring the decoction with boiled water to its original volume. The herbs have anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effects.

You can gargle with beet juice; to do this, add one tablespoon to a glass of beet juice. apple cider vinegar, mix. Gargle with beetroot juice several times a day.

Take a teaspoon of aloe juice and a teaspoon of sea buckthorn oil, mix and dissolve this remedy in your mouth three times a day, half a teaspoon of the mixture. The sore throat subsides.

How to prevent a cold, what to do to avoid getting sick

Well, of course, we all want not to get sick and stay healthy, so that we don’t have to think about how to quickly cure a cold. But we are not immune from getting sick, especially if we are in a group, our children go to school and kindergarten. Or maybe there are some means to prevent a cold?

I want to say that in winter, the cold air itself that we inhale is not dangerous. It warms up in our nasopharynx and purified and warmer air already reaches the bronchi, but if the air temperature drops to -30, then the air we inhale simply does not have time to warm up and this can cause complications in the bronchi and lungs.

Try to lead active image life, running, gymnastics, swimming, walking in the fresh air, all this strengthens our immune system. During the cold season, when leaving the house, lubricate yourself and your children in the nose. oxolinic ointment or baby cream.

When you get home, wash your hands thoroughly. Carry a handkerchief with you on which you drop a few drops of fir, wormwood or lavender oil and if someone sneezes, put the handkerchief to your nose, the substances contained in these oils kill germs.

Ventilate the room you are in more often. Pay attention to your diet. Our the immune system needs vitamins, proteins, minerals. Complete proteins found in meat, legumes, and fish. Make sure that you get enough vitamin C from your food, because this guarantees the production of full-fledged immune cells.

Other vitamins are also important. During the cold season, it is recommended to eat more oranges, lemons, onions, garlic, and season dishes with ground black pepper and cloves. Take vitamins, especially pay attention to vitamin C, that is, ascorbic acid. Include in your diet dairy products, which contain live bacteria and provide normal work our gastrointestinal tract.

The tips are quite simple, but effective; if you follow them, there is a lot of chance of not getting sick and then you won’t have to wonder how to quickly cure a cold with folk remedies. Stay healthy.

This is how we fight colds. And then in winter we drink pine tea.

In the boundless expanses of Russia, in the midst of its talented people, many centuries ago a great, incomparable original culture of healing was born and lives to this day, based on treatment of diseases with folk remedies.

Origins of traditional medicine

It so happened that from the point of view of geography and history, Russia’s place is between the West and the East. Hence its great troubles and great advantages. Hence its fate, features in the development of culture, art, many sciences, including traditional medicine. This is truly a gold mine, which many authoritative officials, until recently, simply ignored. Thank God, the time has passed to rely only on tomographs and chemical drugs.

We again come to bow to the experience of our distant ancestors. They were handsome and strong. They breathed clean air, not poisoned by gasoline, and drank crystal spring water without chlorine or fluoride. They went one on one against a connecting rod bear, who did not manage to fall asleep in time in the snowy forest. Of course, in such a combat our ancestor, even if he emerged victorious, was injured. Yes, what kind! Broken bones in arms and legs, torn muscles...

And then a woman leaned over him. Yes, in Ancient Russia it was mainly women who healed (in the East - men). In a dimly lit closet, the “witch” whispered incantations and created decoctions, infusions, healing potions...

Today we look more and more closely into the past, we read more and more carefully into every word of ancient manuscripts. They contain the wisdom of those who have left us forever...

And today people live and work who are looking for unbeaten paths to understanding the mystery of human nature, his physical and spiritual essence. Their asceticism preserved the spring that pours its “savage blood” into the half-empty veins of modern programmed medical science.

It is difficult to overestimate the role that plants play in human life. All our food consists practically of a plant base, because a cow chews grass, a chicken pecks grain, and fish eats plankton.

Plants contain not only food components, but also substances that can regulate and correct impaired body functions.

A remarkable researcher of natural ways to prolong life, Alexey Maslennikov, managed to reveal the secret meaning of one of the oldest manuscripts on Earth. Why did this document “submit” to him? In his youth, Maslennikov was doomed to death - cancer. Unable to accept the verdict of official medicine, this man began to look for alternative methods of treatment, folk remedies against cancer, found them, got rid of his disease and has since become an outstanding herbalist. His lifestyle led to the fact that the years seemed to move backwards.

The text deciphered by A. Maslennikov appeared much earlier than Babylonian cuneiform and Egyptian papyri. Maslennikov believes that he has deciphered the message of aliens who, back in mythical, prehistoric times, visited the Earth and answered the question that interested them most: what is needed to maintain long-lasting and good health? The postulates deciphered by Maslennikov come down to three simple, but so neglected by people, provisions: eat everything that grows around us, constantly and regularly cleanse the body of accumulated toxins, and thirdly, “the two must become one essence.” The latter is beyond the scope of our work, although here, perhaps, the most important thing is to accept the age-old tradition of relationships, honor in the family, and the exclusion of all fornication and sin. Because physiologically clean body, not spurred on by any doping, asceticism, even if not lifelong, but regular, fast weeks and days, physical activity on our pampered and idle way of life - all this moderates the outrage of passions and passions, moderates the heat of the flesh, refines emotions and reason.

Let's return to practical, original tips and recipes. Do not neglect them, do not be surprised, laughing at their simplicity and naivety, use them for the sake of the health of you and your loved ones. Do not succumb to general gluttony and the general menu consisting of dubious sausages, tasty, but dangerous sweets; cruel and harsh “spurrs” of life. A physiologically clean body, filled with light plant food, which is saturated with sun, water, aromas, means pure thoughts, reasonable calm behavior, non-aggression, goodwill. Everyday life does not require the temperament of predators; not every day requires the heart of a lion and the cunning of a panther. We need calm, benevolent “herbivorous” people, condescending to loved ones and passers-by, wise and cozy. It is easier to exist with such people nearby. And the time of heroism will come, then the diet will change, and the entire body will gather its strength and give out all the reserves that have been accumulated in it by a reasonable way of being. I don’t remember that gluttons, sensualists and villains immediately became heroes and saviors of mankind.

Before our eyes are other figures: St. Sergius of Radonezh, Archpriest Avvakum, John of Kronstadt and in general the best representatives of the Russian priesthood, leading a modest and ascetic lifestyle, Tolstoy Lev Nikolaevich, simple Russian soldiers, not spoiled by food either. Forgive me for the gastronomic approach to the topic, but why did so many great people refuse to eat “slaughter,” wore chains, exhausted themselves with fasting and repentance, and often worked beyond the strength of ordinary people?

So let's go back to our roots! Let's remember ancient recipes and implement them in our everyday life. This, by the way, will make it more interesting. Rather than it being useless to scour the stores, we’d better find out what this or that herb is called, we’ll distinguish trees from each other, and we’ll follow the seasons, observing when things ripen, bloom, when to collect what, and how to fill our home with the smell of dried herbs and berries .

Ancient recipes of traditional medicine

Despite the abundance of overweight, obese, sometimes overfed children (improper, too high-calorie diet of pasta, ice cream, sweet dessert drinks), cases of anemia are becoming more and more common.

Siberian healers always advised their fellow villagers to drink rose hips for health and longevity; he also protects against diseases, as it is very rich in vitamin C.

Place two heaped teaspoons of dried rose hips in a glass of boiling water and drink three times a day after meals. Such an infusion improves blood composition and metabolism.

Another original product from anemia. Collect wormwood in May, pour vodka or diluted alcohol into it. Leave for 21 days in a dry, dark place (temperature should be warmer than room temperature). Dose: a drop of tincture per one thimble of water, drink in the morning, once a day on an empty stomach. Take the medicine for three weeks, take a break for two weeks and resume the three-week course again.

Suddenly our book will fall into the hands of singers. Here is a folk remedy for throat diseases in professional singers. Pour a glass of water into the pan, pour half a glass of anise seeds (or a glass of anise oil, essence) into it. Boil for 15 minutes. Then throw away the seeds, and boil the broth with one quarter glass of honey and pour in a tablespoon of cognac. It is better to take fake honey. Dose: one tablespoon every half hour.

Another remedy (now Serbian-Macedonian) for bronchitis and loss of voice. To boil water. When it boils, put in a pound (400 grams) of bran (any kind), sweeten with brown sugar. Drink this decoction throughout the day instead of tea, coffee, soup and any other liquid, but be sure to drink it hot.

In Siberia for bronchitis and cough(and also useful for liver and kidneys) grate black radish, squeeze the juice through cheesecloth, mix with liquid honey and drink two tablespoons before meals and before bed in the evening.

Village medicine remedy from long-term chest cough : wipe the chest with a dry cloth, then rub dry lard with a small amount of pine oil (it is now sold in pharmacies, you can take fir oil).

Boiled turnip juice with honey is also very useful in treatment chest pain from colds and coughs.

Or you can mix radish or carrot juice with milk or honey drink (half juice and half milk or honey drink) and drink a tablespoon six times a day.

in spring From cough useful Birch juice(it’s better to pick it yourself - the tree won’t die from it).

To facilitate mucus separation It is useful to drink a tablespoon of lingonberry juice syrup with honey syrup quite often during the day.

Constipation seems to be not a disease, but a nuisance. But frequent constipation leads to serious illnesses: hemorrhoids, disorder digestive tract, to poor health, because all the toxins do not come out, settling in the body, decomposing and poisoning it. Therefore, by fighting constipation, we catch up and ward off future illnesses.

Of course, the best and only remedy for constipation - proper nutrition, non-sedentary lifestyle and consumption of plant foods. But still, if you are prone to them, then this is what traditional medicine advises.

Healers advise drinking water in which plums or oats have been boiled for a long time. Radish juice, warm cabbage brine, yogurt, tea made from dried cherries and dried apples should be drunk four to five times a day.

Another laxative: Keep cucumbers in salt water for a month. When the brine is ready, you need to drink a lot of it, but eating these cucumbers is not recommended.

It is useful to drink cabbage brine with yeast or buckthorn.

In the central provinces of Russia, old women were treated hemorrhoids aspen leaves. Everyone knows the tree on which, according to legend, Judas hanged himself. This is why the aspen became bitter.

Take aspen leaves and apply them to hemorrhoidal cones for two hours. Then remove and after half an hour put fresh aspen leaves again. If they appear discomfort, the leaves are removed and the area is carefully washed. After a day or two, the treatment should be repeated. As the cones decrease, you should use aspen leaves less and less, gradually moving on to washing with water.

Once upon a time we went to Tambov specifically for tea against hemorrhoids. The herb from which this tea was prepared is popularly called " kidney grass", and the popular name for hemorrhoids is pochechuy. So, find this herb, brew it and drink it as tea several times a day.

Fresh rowan juice is also good. If you drink it for a long time, even internal hemorrhoids will open, and it works better than a laxative. You should drink the juice three times a day, two glasses with added sugar, with water.

The following components should be included in enema for constipation: 1 tablespoon flaxseed (crushed). If flaxseed is difficult to obtain, it can be replaced with oats or barley. Boil four glasses of water, strain and add 1 tablespoon of salt or 2 tablespoons of flaxseed or hemp oil. The enema should be warm.

Several medicinal teas for constipation.

We remind you that infusions and decoctions are drunk for medicinal purposes for no more than 4-5 weeks. Subsequently, the body stops responding to them as therapeutic ones. To avoid the body getting used to it and reducing the effectiveness of medicinal teas, you need to take breaks of 10-15 days or change the recipe by introducing other plants into the composition.

  1. Black elderberry (its flowers) in half with laxative joster. Take a glass of decoction 2 times a day after meals in the morning and evening.
  2. Buckthorn (bark) - 50 grams, black elderberry flowers - 20, fennel fruits - 20, anise fruits - 20 grams. Place the raw materials in an enamel bowl, add hot boiled water, close the lid and heat in a water bath for 15 minutes (proportion: raw materials - 10 grams per 20 milliliters of water).
  3. Buckthorn - 15 grams, licorice root - 15 grams, fennel fruits - 15 grams, marshmallow root - 25 grams, uncrushed flaxseed - 30 grams. Take half a glass once a day after meals.

Along with taking remedies for constipation, it is necessary to resort to cleansing the body through fasting and fasting.

Cleansing the body

How to start cleaning?

In the morning, immediately after waking up, dilute 1 teaspoon of Epsom salts in half a glass of boiling water (preferably distilled water), add the juice of two lemons and fill the glass to the top with cold (preferably distilled) water and drink. After 20 minutes, dilute half a glass of carrot and celery juice (or the same amount of citrus juice) with half a glass of cold water and drink. Do not eat anything during the cleansing; if you feel very hungry, eat one orange or grapefruit in the evening.

For 5 days, drink only vegetable juices and do an enema every evening to get rid of the waste that was brought down as a result of cleansing and drinking juices.

During hunger, cleansing processes occur faster, and vital force, which is usually spent on the digestion process (and the body spends a huge amount of energy on this!), is spent on throwing unwanted tissues out of the body. When we don't eat, we burn about 400 grams of tissue, fat, growths, mucus and other things - this is equivalent to destroying the disease. If you get sick, stop eating! This is how we can formulate one of the first and mandatory steps in the fight against the disease.

During fasting, it is recommended to take daily baths with dried herbs.

If possible, collect some hay dust and fill it with cold water, bring to a boil and simmer for half an hour. The decoction is added to the bath, which has a beneficial effect on the entire body. For a full bath - 1 kilogram of trash, for a sedentary bath - 1/4 kilogram, for a bath of hands or feet - 4 handfuls. Bath temperature is 37 degrees, time is from 5 to 20 minutes. If the heart is not particularly strong, baths should be taken every other day.

Hay dust is rich in various essential oils, which causes skin irritation. Its effect on metabolism is extremely useful in the treatment of kidneys, gout-rheumatic conditions, joint diseases, accumulation of fluids (in the joints and sinuses), inflammation of the veins and the formation of boils (the oka resolves them). Its effect is also beneficial for colic of the gallbladder, stomach, intestines, etc.

Horsetail baths are valuable for their silica content and are used for convulsive conditions of the kidneys and bladder; they heal wounds well. Horsetail is poured with cold water, boiled for half an hour and added to the bath. For a full bath - 750 grams of horsetail, for a seated and foot bath - 250 grams.

Baths from oak bark(due to the content of tannic acid) have an antipyretic effect, promote healing of wounds, they treat skin damage from frost and dilated veins, and are used for childhood scrofula.

The dried, crushed bark is soaked in cold water for several hours and then boiled for half an hour. For full vata - 1 kilogram, for seated and foot - 250 grams.

Baths with calamus treat scrofula in children and rickets, and neuroses in adults. Prepare the decoction in the same way as in previous cases. For a full bath you need 250 grams of calamus, for a sedentary bath - 150.

Chamomile contains valuable essential oil, and therefore baths with the addition of chamomile flowers have a healing effect on internal and external inflammation, they are of great benefit in the treatment of catarrhal conditions, skin diseases, wounds, and abscesses. Chamomile baths soothe and eliminate cramps; they are sometimes used in cases of nervousness.

Chamomile blossom is poured with cold water and boiled in a well-sealed container for 10 minutes. For a full bath you need to take half a kilogram of flowers, for a sedentary bath - a quarter of a kilogram, for a foot bath - 100 grams.

For inflammation, itchy and painful rashes, burns and wounds, and excessive skin sensitivity Baths with bran are very useful. For a full bath, however, you will need as much as one and a half kilograms. Pour the bran into a bag, fill it with cold water and cook this bag of bran for a very, very short time.

Baths with pine needle extract are very useful. They have calming effect on increased irritability, strengthen the heart and nerves, help with heart disease, neuroses and insomnia, gout, muscular and joint rheumatism, sciatica, tumors and inflammation of the joints, skin diseases, abscesses, catarrh of the respiratory tract, asthma and lung disease. They are recommended for restoring and strengthening the strength of a patient recovering from serious illnesses.

The extract is prepared as follows: take needles, twigs, cones, pour cold water and boil for half an hour, then close and leave for 12 hours. A good extract has Brown color. Artificial impurities are added to pharmacy and store-bought extracts, which is why it is green.

Remedies for toothache. It is not always possible for a patient to immediately seek help from a doctor. Often home remedies are at hand that save the patient from toothache.

In many homes there is sage, which is brewed and used warmly for rinsing, trying to keep the decoction on the sore area of the gum as long as possible. This has to be done often: three to five times within half an hour or a quarter of an hour, after which the pain subsides.

Another way: take a slice lard(skin, fresh or salted). If the lard is salted, then the salt must be cleaned. Place a slice on the sore spot between the gum and cheek. Keep the slice in your mouth for 15-20 minutes until the pain subsides.

Or you can put a plantain root in your ear on the side of your cheek where the tooth hurts and hold it until the pain disappears. After half an hour or an hour the pain goes away.

Folk way treatment of tumors and gum abscesses. At subdental gumboil Doctors of Russian folk medicine use the following remedy: pour about 100 grams of liquid linden honey into the bottom of a small saucepan. Take an old rusty nail. Having heated it red-hot, put it in honey. This creates a thick black substance like tar around the nail. This black substance should be lubricated on the gums, mainly at night, before going to bed. The abscess usually breaks out soon, and the swelling quickly subsides. The nail must be old and very rusty. Rust plays an important role in this case.

When heating, do not blow on the nail or touch it when it is hot to keep rust on it.

"A great and universal folk remedy for rheumatism all varieties, up to and including the articular one” - this is how the compiler of the “Russian Folk Medicine Book” P. M. Kurennov, who calls himself a Russian healer of the 8th generation, pompously calls the old Russian recipe for the treatment of this serious and widespread disease today. This is a remedy made from birch buds.

The buds are infused with vodka or alcohol, and the tincture is used for rubbing. Sometimes this kind of tincture was used in small doses for oral administration.

Ointment from birch buds is considered a strong and effective treatment for rheumatism - it is rubbed on sore spots. It is prepared like this: put 800 grams of fresh butter in a clay pot along with birch buds in layers: a layer of butter, a layer of buds (of equal thickness) until the pot is full. Close the pot with a lid, cover the holes with dough and put the pot in the oven (if there is one at the dacha, in the village, or finally with relatives in the village) or, which, of course, reduces the mystery of the product and its traditionality, in the oven of an electric stove for 24 hours. A gas stove and oven are not suitable for this! Then squeeze the oil out of the buds and add 3-5 grams of camphor, crushed into powder, into the squeezed oil. Keep this ointment tightly closed in a cool place. Rub it on sore areas at least once a day, in the evening before bed.

And here is another remedy (which was practiced by many doctors who studied traditional medicine), which works successfully for rheumatism with swelling and hardening of the joints.

Most often, rheumatism affects the legs. Bags should be sewn in the shape of legs and parts of the torso up to the lower back. Then pick birch leaves and fill bags with them. In the evening, before going to bed, insert the sore legs into these bags so that a fairly thick layer of leaves covers the surface of the legs on all sides. Your feet will sweat very much, just as they would in a steam bath. Leaves should be changed at midnight if they become too wet. Several similar sessions, and, as Russian healers, herbarists, and naturopathic doctors promise, a complete cure occurs!

If you have a cold pain in the lower back, sacrum, shoulder blades, back and shoulders, then immediately rub in the ointment from the coastal buds, and then apply a layer of fresh birch leaves to the sore spots, bandage and do not remove the bandage until the morning. Birch buds contain oil that has enormous healing powers.

Of course, preparing such an ointment will not be easy, but getting medicine is not always easy. And will the doctor be able to choose it, will he not use the usual and not all suitable ones, which will cause hundreds of undesirable effects on the heart and kidneys. Trust folk wisdom, the experience of ancestors who did without chemical drugs, and finally, this touching, beautiful tree, which has become a symbol of the land on which we live - the birch!

“But how do people get treatment in other places on the planet where our green-haired beauty does not grow?” - skeptics will grumble. That's the point. Nature, creating the living world and populating it with people, took care of everything: our health and our infirmities. And therefore Nature reigns, and not man is the king of nature. She has everything in stock, our job is to guess what’s what, to find our friends and enemies in her, and if we ourselves do not have such talents, to trust the experience and knowledge of those initiated into her secrets.

In Mexico, for example, famous Indian healers treat the same disease with California mountain lion lard or infuse rattlesnake in dried chuchupahstle grass, and Mongolian lamas drown tarbaganye lard. As you can see, each nation chooses the necessary means from its own experience and from its world of trees, herbs and animals.

That is why sometimes one hesitates to call centuries-tested healing remedies unconventional. Perhaps official medicine is rather unconventional, because it, with its powerful chemistry, x-rays, and artillery strikes, strikes the source of the disease, without particularly caring about the integrity of the entire fortress - our body.

Since we are talking about such an unpleasant disease as rheumatism, especially articular (polyarthritis), it should be said that the main cause of these ailments, according to modern research, is an excess of uric acid in the body. This acid comes from meat, game, and fish. During treatment, it is necessary to abstain for a long period of time. meat food and go vegetarian, mainly raw vegetables and fruits. And how can Thomas remain an unbeliever, if all the teachings about human health - Yoga, Tibetan, Russian medicine - state: fasting and cleansing the body are necessary to remove toxins, poisons, excess accumulated substances that are unnecessary in such quantities to a person. Of course, it’s easier to fill yourself up with bread and a cutlet, washing it all down with cocoa or coffee with milk. But how much more pleasant, lighter, more aromatic and weightless will your feeling of satisfying your hunger be if at breakfast you eat ordinary cabbage (sauerkraut or fresh), a carrot salad with an apple, one boiled potatoes by itself, black bread soaked in vegetable oil.

Unconventional methods of treatment

Doctors and ordinary people today are increasingly studying alternative methods of treatment - herbal medicine, medical treatment, acupuncture, and finally, urine therapy.

Urine therapy

Urinary therapy is nothing new. This is not a fantasy of scammers or a hoax. This is a time-tested method of treating diseases that has been passed down from generation to generation.

Take a closer look at the behavior of animals when they are unhealthy. During illness, a dog or a bull lies without moving and drinks its urine from time to time. After a few days they recover without any medical care.

Since time immemorial, people have known about the healing properties of urine, and traces of this knowledge have been preserved in folk medicine.

Tibetan lamas are known to drink urine in large quantities.

Itsdus take mullein and cow urine internally for self-purification before performing important procedures. In Ayurvedic medicine, cow urine is considered very strong remedy for the treatment of serious diseases, especially the liver.

In Russian villages, old people always advised urinating on wounds and cuts. They believed that urine was the best antiseptic. Even today, old grandmothers give children their urine to drink when they have fever or diarrhea. In this sense, the disadvantage modern means medicine has performed a useful service, allowing us to preserve many centuries-old knowledge that under other circumstances would have been lost.

IN Western countries urine therapy was also popular. French dentists treated dental diseases with urine compresses. They advised their patients to wash their teeth with urine daily (many times a day).

In a book published in England at the beginning of the 19th century, there are many references to urinary therapy. Let us note some of them: “The best treatment for any internal and external disease is to drink urine every day early in the morning for 9 days. This eliminates scurvy and gives relief. Diseases of the ears and nose are completely cured by applying warm urine. Rinsing the eyes with urine relieves pain, redness and swelling of the eyes. Eyes become shiny, vision becomes strong. If you wash your hands with urine, they become soft and smooth. Joints are flexible. All wounds are cured by daily washing with urine. Skin diseases are cured in the same way.”

Urine contains rapidly disintegrating salts, which are very useful. These salts destroy acidity. The urine of a normal healthy person contains calcium, sodium, magnesium salts, general sulfates, inorganic sulfates and phosphates, chlorides, urea N (nitrogen), creatinine, etc. In fact, urine contains chemicals that are extremely necessary for the growth and maintenance of the body. .

Many doctors still insist that substances that leave the body in urine are useless and harmful. But isn't calcium important for the body? Doesn't every tonic contain calcium, magnesium, phosphate, sodium, potassium? Even urea is necessary to protect the cells of the body, and in many cases it is prescribed by doctors mixed with other medicines.

Various hormones and secretions are present in small quantities in urine. Some foreign companies use human urine to create skin stimulants, soaps, and cosmetics.

During illness, the body produces foreign substances and antibodies. They leave the body in urine. Therefore, it contains antibodies and disease products along with salts. When this urine is ingested or lubricated by the body, the beneficial salts are distributed in the body and nourish it, while the antibodies act on the disease as medicines according to the principle of homeopathy.

In our time, great enthusiasts of urine therapy were the Englishman John W. Armstrong, Patel in India, and the English doctor Baxton. There are many nameless followers in our country, primarily patients who learned this method of treatment from photocopies.

Lubricating the body with urine is recommended as a general strengthening, tonic, and against ringworm, eczema. For these purposes, urine must be kept, and not used fresh. Eastern treatises recommend soaking urine for 36 hours, Western supporters of urinary therapy - 5-6 days. Old urine releases a significant amount of ammonia, which helps it be quickly absorbed by the skin. Collect urine in bottles in advance, seal them so that insects do not penetrate; due to the bactericidal properties of urine, microbes do not form in the collected urine. Armstrong himself, a man devoted to his healing work, tested the remedy on himself (he suffered from tuberculosis and diabetes), and then moved on to treat others (urine plus fasting). He connects the “illumination” with a line from the Bible that accidentally caught his eye: “Drink water from yourself.” A strong will, unshakable faith in the Bible, a serious analysis of the composition of urine and its effect on the disease worked a miracle. He cured himself and cured about 10 thousand patients with his method. Especially successfully treated with urine wounds, abrasions, skin diseases, hair diseases.

Before use, especially in winter, it is better to warm the urine.

For a person of average build, a quarter of a liter is required for one procedure. Lubricate with this amount of urine body light stroking, slowly, paying the most attention to the neck, face, soles of the feet. Draining urine must be removed, as it becomes contaminated during the treatment process. After 1-2 lubrications, you need to take a bath with cool or warm water without soap. Sometimes after lubrication (4-5 days) small blisters may appear. Urinary doctors advise not to worry and not to treat these blisters with medications and continue urine therapy. In 10-15 days they promise a cure for many skin and neurodermatological diseases.

The combination of urine therapy and days of fasting has a beneficial effect.

Those who decide to use urine therapy should clearly understand that during treatment they need to change their menu, eat only natural foods: milk, kefir, vegetables, berries, black or gray bread, vegetarian soups. Exclude strong meat broths, pickles, eggs, wine, vodka, spices, beer, sweets, tea, coffee. If you used medications, then wait 3-4 days before starting treatment with urine. Constantly drink settled or spring water (raw), fruit and vegetable juices (grape and tomato juices are especially useful).

In addition to wounds and skin diseases, urine therapy helps for purulent ear diseases which children so often suffer from. In such cases, wash the ear canals with urine 4 times a day and, if you have gotten rid of prejudices and are determined to try this reliable folk method, drink 30 grams of settled urine every morning.

For inflammation of the sinuses You need to draw in the first morning urine through both nostrils every day. I want to warn you: this process is long, sometimes several months. But you won’t need painful and lifelong punctures of the maxillary sinuses. This recipe is borrowed from the Indian treatise Panavamutra.

Drinking urine through the nose is what yogis advise (they call this procedure “mudra-ti” (treatment) for those who want to get rid of glasses and in general improve your vision.

Urine therapy gives excellent results for trachoma and other eye diseases. Urinotherapists recommend rinsing your eyes with urine 3 times a day. The eyes may initially become red and swollen, but this is a favorable symptom - accumulated toxins are released from the body. Treatment should be continued.

Suction of urine through the nostrils cures from nosebleeds.

Urine therapy helps with whooping cough, debilitating cough, asthma, constipation, intestinal diseases, and kidney diseases. And even cancer of the breast, throat, tongue.

So, urinary therapy has an old and strong tradition. There were times when people used urine as medicine without hesitation. Of course, the consciousness that “urine is a product of excretion, a dirty product of our vital activity” is deposited in us and prevents us from overstepping accepted opinions, prejudices, and disgust. I personally know of several examples of curing hair disease that occurred after severe throat surgery. However, when people are told fatal diagnoses and when doctors lose hope, patients fight the disease using the most unexpected means. The most courageous, patient and “risky” people achieve success, winning years of a full-blooded life from evil fate.

Russian bath

Today it has already been precisely established that the bath improves the quality of the blood, stimulates metabolism, enhances oxidative processes and the activity of the glands internal secretion. Due to a sharp increase in sweating, the release of toxins - harmful and unnecessary waste products of the body - increases. At the same time, the central nervous system calms down, the functioning of the liver, kidneys, and intestines improves, and appetite increases.

Russian people have never doubted that the bathhouse is the most reliable remedy against colds, runny nose, chronic bronchitis; it is very “helpful” in the treatment of bruises, dislocations, sprains, as well as in the treatment of rheumatism, radiculitis, gout, neuritis. After long-term illnesses, it is the bathhouse that will lift you up and put you on your feet.

Bathhouses are different. And it’s not just heat and cold that make up their amazing healing power. And the steam, and the broom, and the water in the ladle, which is thrown onto the hot stove, even the air itself in every bathhouse is its own.

Going to the bathhouse means performing a centuries-old ritual... You open the door of the hut with a dim window, take off your clothes in the dressing room and step barefoot on the steamed boards of the steam room. You climb onto the shelves and start to sweat. Heated walls, cut from coniferous wood, exude phytoncides - volatile substances that destroy bacteria and microbes. Already from the first minutes of staying in the bathhouse, the healing process begins.

But then you gathered your courage and decided to throw another ladle of water on the heater. For this knowledgeable people use kvass or herbal decoction. The steam that rises to the ceiling in clouds is filled with a special amazing spirit. After the Soviet biologist Professor B.P. Tokin discovered the phenomenon of phytoncide in 1928, the wisdom of our ancestors, who were treated with horseradish and radish, garlic and onions and did not recognize foreign poisonous medicines, which even then contained mercury and arsenic, became clearer. It is clear why kvass infused with many well-known garden crops is poured onto the stones.

In Russia, “chipuchina sitting” has been known since ancient times as a way to treat colds and rheumatism. In a special wooden chamber - a chipuchina - the patient inhaled vapors from steamed plants. It is difficult to find in today's medicine such a simple, reliable and harmless method of treating several dozen serious illnesses. If you look at it, the bathhouse also includes the procedure of “chipuchina sitting”. It is especially effective in preventing pulmonary diseases.

Is it possible to imagine a Russian bathhouse without a broom? “A bathhouse without a broom is like a samovar without a pipe,” “like an egg without salt,” “like a yard without a fence,” “like a morning without the sun.” “Steam is undead, a broom heals.” Many nice words have been spoken about the bath fan, but we would like to dwell on the last proverb.

Most bath lovers and traditional medicine specialists believe that the best broom is made from soft, flexible birch branches, which, after steaming, emit a delicate aroma that lasts on the skin for up to 5-7 hours. How is birch useful? Chemical analysis of its leaves showed that they contain a lot of essential oil, tannin, vitamin C, and provitamin A.

Birch broom is used for pain and aching in muscles and joints, for skin rashes, acne, pustules, lichens, it heals wounds and abrasions, soothes, improves mood. In addition, the birch aroma dilates the blood vessels of the bronchi, improving ventilation of the lungs; it is indispensable for asthmatics and heavy smokers struggling with this scourge.

Oak brooms are also good. Oak leaves contain a large number of tannins. Oak decoction used for skin diseases (eczema), severe sweating of the feet.

A broom made from oak branches is useful for people with oily skin - it makes it matte and elastic, and has a strong anti-inflammatory effect. The aroma of oak prevents the increase blood pressure when you are in the steam room. It is useful for those who are prone to hypertension, and is also very good at calming the nervous system.

But a linden broom eliminates headaches, performs light “gymnastics” for the kidneys (diuretic effect), accelerates sweating, has a calming, wound-healing, bronchodilator, antipyretic effect. For colds, he has no equal!

Alder for a broom is used in the steam room for colds, aches in the joints and muscles.

In Siberia they use a fir broom, in Central Asia - a juniper broom: the resinous substances of these plants irritate the skin, stimulate sweating, accelerate blood circulation in the muscles and reflexively even in the internal organs. This broom is good for a kind of segmental massage, for example, for pain in the spine, neuralgia, radiculitis. It disinfects the respiratory tract, prevents respiratory diseases, laryngitis, bronchitis, influenza...

Eucalyptus brooms are most often used for steaming in the Caucasus. Eucalyptus leaves contain from 1 to 3% essential oil, which has medicinal properties. The best broom for a bath is collected in August-September, and the most healing leaf for infusion is collected in November-December. Eucalyptus infusion is used in the steam room as an antiseptic, as an inhalation for diseases of the larynx, trachea, and bronchi. Steam with eucalyptus tincture or oil has a calming effect on nervous system.

You can also use other broad-leaved species for brooms, such as maple, walnut, mountain ash, even palm!

Try making a broom from rowan and tansy grass with inflorescences - it stimulates the nervous system and will make you “fresh as a cucumber” after a bath, unlike those used at night, before bed. This one is useful before a difficult day at work.

Unfortunately, people use nettle brooms less and less often. The inexperienced will say: “How can you steam yourself with stinging nettles?” But if you prepare a broom according to all the rules, then there is no equal to it, especially for those who have lower back pain or aching joints. The powerful irritating, distracting, anti-inflammatory effect of such a broom has long been widely known among the people.

A nettle broom is knitted small, before the steam room it is placed in hot water for 2-3 minutes, and then in cold water for 5 minutes. You can repeat this procedure and whip to your heart's content.

Before the bath, a pine broom should be steamed for 15-20 minutes in boiling water. But it is contraindicated for sensitive skin.

Do bath brooms from licorice branches (especially in Central Asia and Kazakhstan), black currants, and various types of wormwood. Of course, the currant broom is inferior in strength to tree brooms, but from the point of view of its benefits to the body, aroma, and pharmacological activity active ingredients can quite compete even with birch.

But! Cut branches from those trees that are going to be cut down, preferably from below. Otherwise, we will cripple all the healthy trees and be left with only brooms.

Towards the end of the bath, when you have “cooled down” several times (no, no, not in snowdrifts and an ice bath - where can we go after our ancestors) in a cool pool or in the dressing room, proceed to a bath of medicinal herbs.

Apply various fees herbs One of them is a normalizing metabolism, which has a beneficial effect on obesity: birch, stinging nettle, cinquefoil, burdock (rhizome and young leaves), dandelion, fragrant chamomile, knotweed, horsetail, string - an equal amount of everything. 500-700 grams of the dried mixture (or 2.5-3 kilograms in a state of natural humidity) are poured with 8-10 liters of cold water, boiled, left for 40-60 minutes and, after straining, poured into the bath, diluting with water to the required volume. At a temperature of 35-39° you sit in such a bath for 5-10 minutes and 1-2 at a lower temperature.

The second collection is for a general strengthening bath: golden grass - 2 parts, meadow clover - 2, creeping wheatgrass rhizome - 5, knotweed - 3, horsetail - 3, cedar, fir or pine needles - 12, string - 3 parts - prepared like this same as the first one. This bath strengthens general state body and regulates metabolism.

Hygienic baths are taken when the skin is clean; the body should not be rinsed with water and, of course, without soap.

Of course, such “royal baths and baths” are very troublesome, require, so to speak, material preparation and take a lot of time. So I caught myself in nonsense - they are taking away... On this particular bath day, a lot of time was spent, but incomparably more days and years of health were added. Of course, such baths “to the fullest” can be taken once or twice a month. It’s better if you have good company, with conversations and new recipes. So many impressions from this bath day- and the aromas of herbs, and comforting stories about cases of miraculous healings in the bathhouse, and funny stories, and the cleanliness of the skin, hair, and the crunch of every bone, washed and dried, and an amazing feeling of lightness and detachment from all worries and vanity.

You are steamed, relaxed, and thirsty. For a long time, in Rus', after a bath, they drank kvass, honey drinks and, of course, tea, and not just tea, but berry, flower, and herbal tea. There are a great many recipes for such teas. Feel free to make bouquets yourself from your favorite herbs (we have already talked about the effects of many), add the most fragrant ones, and don’t forget about raspberries, mint, thyme, lingonberry leaves, honey. After tea it's time for bed. It will be strong, without worries and nightmares, and you will wake up as if you were born again into this world.

Contraindications for bath procedures

It is harmful to steam on an empty stomach or after a heavy libation and a hearty lunch. Before the bath, eat a little, preferably vegetarian. You should not go to the steam room if you are very tired. In the bathhouse, you should remember the immutable rule of gradualness: both in loads and in temperature.

Before entering the steam room, just rinse without soap, do not wet your hair, remove all metal jewelry, put a hat (woolen or fabric) on your head and wet it with cold water from time to time. It's better to steam while lying down. Quench your thirst, but not with cold water, and not in one gulp. And I don’t want to read morals, but, believe me, alcoholic drinks in the bathhouse will ruin the whole procedure, and they are very dangerous for life. Leave them for other festivals of the flesh. You came to the bathhouse to cleanse yourself, and not to burden your kidneys, liver, blood vessels and heart. Enjoy Your Bath!

As an independent disease, acute runny nose occurs more often in damp and cold seasons.

The causative agents of the runny nose are various microbes (streptococci, staphylococci, pneumococci) and viruses. Predisposing factors are general and local cooling, mechanical and chemical irritants.

Types of runny nose:
1. Acute rhinitis, common runny nose with acute respiratory infections.
2. Allergic rhinitis, which can also be alleviated with the help of folk remedies.
