Discirculatory encephalopathy - how terrible is the diagnosis? Treatment of dyscirculatory encephalopathy of the brain

Dyscirculatory encephalopathy is an extremely common disease that affects almost every person with arterial hypertension.

Decoding scary words is quite simple. The word “dyscirculatory” means disorders of blood circulation through the vessels of the brain, while the word “encephalopathy” literally means suffering from the head. Thus, discirculatory encephalopathy is a term that refers to any problems and disturbances of any functions due to impaired blood circulation through the vessels.

Information for doctors: the code for dyscirculatory encephalopathy according to ICD 10 is most often code I 67.8.

Causes

There are not many reasons for the development of dyscirculatory encephalopathy. The main ones are hypertonic disease and atherosclerosis. Discirculatory encephalopathy is less often spoken of when there is a tendency to lower blood pressure.

Constant changes in blood pressure and the presence of a mechanical barrier to blood flow in the form of atherosclerotic plaques create the preconditions for chronic insufficiency of blood flow to various structures of the brain. Lack of blood flow means insufficient nutrition, untimely elimination of metabolic products of brain cells, which gradually leads to disruption of various functions.

It should be said that frequent changes in pressure lead to encephalopathy most quickly, while constantly high or constantly low pressure levels will lead to encephalopathy over a longer period of time.

A synonym for discirculatory encephalopathy is chronic cerebral circulatory failure, which, in turn, means the long-term formation of persistent disorders of the brain. Thus, the presence of the disease should be discussed only if vascular diseases are reliably present for many months and even years. Otherwise, you should look for another reason for the existing violations.

Symptoms

What should you pay attention to in order to suspect the presence of dyscirculatory encephalopathy? All symptoms of the disease are quite nonspecific and usually include “ordinary” symptoms that can also occur in a healthy person. This is why patients seek medical care not immediately, only when the severity of the symptoms begins to interfere with a normal life.

According to the classification of discirculatory encephalopathy, several syndromes that combine the main symptoms should be distinguished. When making a diagnosis, the doctor also determines the presence of all syndromes, indicating their severity.

  • Cephalgic syndrome. Includes complaints such as headaches (mainly in the occipital and temporal regions), pressure on the eyes, nausea with headaches, and tinnitus. Also in relation to this syndrome should be attributed any discomfort associated with the head.
  • Vestibulo-coordinating disorders. They include dizziness, throwing up when walking, a feeling of instability when changing body position, blurred vision with sudden movements.
  • Astheno-neurotic syndrome. Includes mood swings, persistently low mood, tearfulness, and feelings of distress. In case of pronounced changes, it should be differentiated from more serious psychiatric diseases.
  • Dissomnia syndrome, including any sleep disorders (including light sleep, “insomnia”, etc.).
  • Cognitive impairment. They combine memory impairment, decreased concentration, absent-mindedness, etc. If the impairment is severe and there are no other symptoms, dementia should be excluded of various etiologies(including, ).

Discirculatory encephalopathy grades 1, 2 and 3 (description)

Also, in addition to syndromic classification, there is a gradation according to the degree of encephalopathy. So, there are three degrees. Discirculatory encephalopathy of the 1st degree means the most initial, transient changes in brain function. Discirculatory encephalopathy of the 2nd degree indicates persistent disorders, which, however, only affect the quality of life, usually not leading to a severe decrease in ability to work and self-care. Discirculatory encephalopathy of the 3rd degree means persistent gross disorders, often leading to disability of a person.

According to statistical data, the diagnosis of grade 2 dyscirculatory encephalopathy is one of the most common neurological diagnoses.

Diagnostics

Only a neurologist can diagnose the disease. To make a diagnosis, an examination of the neurological status requires the presence of revitalized reflexes, the presence of pathological reflexes, changes in performance, and signs of disturbance of the vestibular apparatus. You should also pay attention to the presence of nystagmus, deviation of the tongue away from midline and some other specific signs indicating the suffering of the cerebral cortex and a decrease in its inhibitory effect on the spinal cord and reflex sphere.

Only in addition to the neurological examination are additional research methods - and others. Rheoencephalography can reveal disturbances in vascular tone and asymmetry of blood flow. MRI signs of encephalopathy include the presence of calcifications (atherosclerotic plaques), hydrocephalus, and scattered vascular hypodense inclusions. Typically, MRI signs are detected in the presence of grade 2 or 3 dyscirculatory encephalopathy.

Treatment

Treatment must be comprehensive. The main factor in successful therapy is the normalization of the causes that caused the development of the disease. It is necessary to normalize blood pressure and stabilize lipid metabolism. Standards for the treatment of dyscirculatory encephalopathy also include the use of drugs that normalize the metabolism of brain cells and vascular tone. The drugs in this group include sermion.

The choice of other medications depends on the presence and severity of certain syndromes:

  • In case of severe cephalgic syndrome and existing hydrocephalus, they resort to specific diuretics (diacarb, glycerin mixture), venotonics (detralex, phlebodia).
  • Vestibular-coordinating disorders should be eliminated with drugs that normalize blood flow in the vestibular structures (cerebellum, inner ear). The most commonly used are betahistine (, vestibo, tagista), vinpocetine ().
  • Astheno-neurotic syndrome, as well as sleep disorders, are eliminated by administering lungs sedatives(glycine, tenoten, etc.). At pronounced manifestations resort to prescribing antidepressants. You should also adhere to proper sleep hygiene, normalize the work-rest regime, and limit psycho-emotional stress.
  • Used for cognitive impairment nootropic drugs. The most commonly used drugs are piracetam, including in combination with a vascular component (fezam), as well as more modern drugs such as phenotropil, pantogam. With existing severe comorbidities preference should be given safe drugs plant-based (for example, tanakan).

Treatment with folk remedies for dyscirculatory encephalopathy usually does not pay off, although it can lead to a subjective improvement in well-being. This is especially true for patients who are distrustful of receiving medicines. In advanced cases, such patients should be oriented to at least take constant antihypertensive therapy, and during treatment, use parenteral methods of treatment, which, in the opinion of such patients, have a better effect than tablet forms of drugs.

Prevention

There are not many methods for preventing the disease, but standard treatment cannot do without prevention. To prevent the development of dyscirculatory encephalopathy, as well as to reduce its manifestations, you should constantly monitor the level of blood pressure, the content of cholesterol and its fractions. Psycho-emotional overload should also be avoided.

If you have dyscirculatory encephalopathy, you should also regularly (1-2 times a year) undergo a full course of vasoactive, neuroprotective, nootropic therapy in a day or round-the-clock hospital to prevent progression of the disease. Be healthy!

Today, grade 1 DEP is a fairly common disease. This massive occurrence is explained by a large number of factors provoking the disease.

What is dyscirculatory encephalopathy of the 1st degree?

Discirculatory encephalopathy is the development of lesions in the brain that occur in chronic phase. As a result of exposure various defects on the vessels, there is a disruption in the normal blood flow. As a result, hypoxia develops in those parts of the brain where it does not reach well.

As oxygen starvation increases, the tissues of these areas die, and in their place, pockets of tissue rarefaction appear. Such lesions, as a rule, are small in size, but form in large numbers.

This pathology is an encephalopathy of mixed origin. Over a long period of time, this disease begins to progress.

Based on the area of brain damage, three stages of the disease are distinguished.

The first stage of the disease is characterized by small internal lesions brain. Patients often confuse this stage of pathology development with the symptoms of other ailments.

If the disease is detected in time, then at an early stage of development, a significant reduction in the symptoms or their complete elimination is possible.

Reasons for the development of the disease

Dyscirculatory encephalopathy (DE) is not considered an autonomous pathology. It is provoked by diseases of various types.

The development of stage 1 DE can be provoked by diseases such as:

  • atherosclerosis cerebral vessels;
  • arterial hypertension;
  • venous stagnation in the vessels of the brain;
  • vegetative-vascular dystonia;
  • violation of the system hemodynamics;
  • systemic diseases connective tissue;
  • vasculitis;
  • different pathology blood.

As a result of the progression of these disorders, blood circulation in the brain vessels is disrupted, which leads to a lack of oxygen and, as a result, tissue death. The patient also develops microinfarctions and changes in the density of white matter in the brain.

Most often this condition develops against the background of atherosclerosis or arterial hypertension. The risk of developing CVD increases when a patient develops these two pathologies simultaneously.

Symptoms

Discirculatory encephalopathy at the initial stage of development is characterized by the following manifestations:

  • emergence noise of a different nature;
  • the appearance of frequent dizziness;
  • occurrence of headaches pain;
  • appearance of violations sleep;
  • development of problems with memory;
  • decline cognitive human activity and ability to concentrate;
  • the emergence of a specific instability while walking.

According to the first, only disorders of an emotional nature can be noticeable to others:

  • tearfulness;
  • anxiety;
  • irritability;
  • depression.

Due to memory problems, the patient begins to confuse events. He is still able to easily reproduce information that was received a long time ago, but the latest information is with great difficulty.

Symptoms tend to worsen during evening time days and weaken after the patient rests.

At objective examination, in a person with dyscirculatory encephalopathy the following are observed:

  • movement disorders eye;
  • differences in severity reflex reactions on symmetrical parts of the patient’s body;
  • some disorders in symmetry faces;
  • pathological reflexes.

These manifestations are not characteristic only of DE. They can also occur when transient disorders blood circulation in the brain.

Diagnosis

When diagnosing a disease in a patient, a specialist records specific changes in the patient’s health that were identified when:

  • screening for disorders causing neurological character;
  • neuropsychic patient examination;
  • rheoencephalography;
  • conducting computer tomography;
  • examination blood patient;
  • performing ultrasound dopplerography.

Rheoencephalography allows you to examine the blood vessels of the brain. Having received complete data on their tone and degree of blood filling, the specialist can determine specific methods of treating DE if it was caused by atherosclerosis or hypertension.

Based on data computed tomography Based on the existing atrophic processes, the doctor can determine the degree of damage to brain tissue. Depending on the area of damage, he assigns a particular degree of severity to the disease.

When assessing manifestations that are neurological in nature, the specialist visually examines the patient and checks his reflexes.

With the development of this pathology, the patient exhibits the following neurological phenomena:

  • are expanding reflexogenic zones;
  • are revived tendon reflexes;
  • available clonus lower extremities;
  • clarity is disrupted speeches;
  • disorders arise educational functions;
  • there are disturbances in work vestibular apparatus;
  • increases tone and muscle resistance.

It is impossible to diagnose the development of dyscirculatory encephalopathy in a patient based on the presence of neurological phenomena only. They can accompany other diseases of the central nervous system.

Doppler ultrasound of brain vessels can determine the presence of blood clots in them and characterize the blood flow, as well as assess the speed of its movement and existing disturbances.

A neuropsychological examination checks:

  • ability to orientation in time;
  • ability to perceive criticism;
  • emotional state;
  • ability to voluntary and involuntary attention;
  • visuospatial gnosis;
  • speech patient.

The presence of discirculatory encephalopathy in a patient can be determined based on blood tests based on its quality. People with this pathology have more viscous blood. This provokes the formation of blood clots and deterioration of blood circulation inside the brain.

Based on the data of the examinations performed, the medical worker draws up a general picture of the course of the pathology, determines the stage of its development and prescribes specific therapy.

Measures to treat the disease

If a person has been diagnosed with dyscirculatory encephalopathy, then he must adhere to a special diet. It should be low in calories, contain a small amount of animal fats, fried foods and eggs.

To achieve a visible effect from therapy, the patient must be physically and intellectually active. Under no circumstances should he stop doing housework.

Therapy with medications should be carried out several times in courses. It includes several areas:

  1. Preparations for normalization pressure– “Enalapril”, “Nifedipine”, “Nimodipine”.
  2. Drugs to get rid of atherosclerosis– “Lovastatin”, “Probucol”, “Gemfibrozil”.
  3. Medicines to prevent sedimentation platelets on the walls of blood vessels - “Clopidogrel”, “Curantil”, “Ticlopidiin”.
  4. Treatment antioxidants– vitamin E, Actovegin, Mexidol.
  5. Drugs that improve connections between neurons- “Piracetam”, “Ginkgo biloba”.
  6. Medicines for vessels– “Vinpocetine”, “Stugeron”, “Xanthinol nicotinate”.
  7. Medicines that improve the process metabolism neurons – “Cerebrolysin”, “Cortexin”.
  8. Stabilizing drugs membranes neurons – “Gliatilin”, “Cereton”.

In addition to drug treatment, physiological therapy methods may be prescribed, such as:

  • UHF in the area of the neck vessels;
  • electrosleep;
  • impact using galvanic currents on the collar zone;
  • therapy laser;
  • acupuncture massage;
  • baths.

With rapidly progressing DE, the patient undergoes special operations. The purpose of which is to create an artificial connection between vessels to normalize blood circulation throughout the brain.

Consequences of the disease and complications

Quite often, when a disease is detected at the first stage of its development, the patient can either stop the process for a significant time or get rid of it forever.

As the patient ages, the symptoms of this pathology intensify.

In order not to bring the disease to an extreme stage, treatment to get rid of it must begin immediately after diagnosing DE.

The risk group for developing dyscirculatory encephalopathy includes people with the thrombophilia gene in the DNA molecule with increased blood clotting.

Lifespan

Discirculatory encephalopathy at the first stage of its development is not an incurable disease. If detected in the early phases, the process of death of brain tissue can be stopped.

A person who has been diagnosed with first-degree dyscirculatory encephalopathy can live long life. To do this, you just need to carefully monitor your health and body condition, and also carry out the necessary treatment on time.

If quality therapy is not carried out, the disease will progress and may lead to disability.

The lethal outcome is often caused by complications that arise against the background of DE - cardiovascular collapse, heart attack, ischemic stroke.

The length of a patient’s life and its quality are directly dependent on correct diagnosis and correctly selected treatment.

With timely and accurate therapy, as well as subject to certain rules, a person can stop the process of brain destruction for a long time or even forever.

Discirculatory encephalopathy of the 1st degree: what is it? With grade 1 DEP, cerebral blood flow is impaired, which leads to dysfunction of the human body. The pathological process is characterized by the fact that the brain is insufficiently supplied with blood.

How are DEP classified?

Despite the fact that stage 1 DEP is easy, it always progresses pathological process. Symptoms of this disease include instability emotional background patient with motor dysfunction. People of different age groups fall ill with this pathology.

Based on the causes of discirculatory encephalopathic changes, pathology can occur due to:

  • Arterial hypertension.
  • Atherosclerosis.
  • Chronic vertebrobasilar syndrome.

There is also dyscirculatory encephalopathy of mixed origin. Encephalopathy of mixed origin occurs due to combined symptoms of hypertension, atherosclerosis, and chronic VBI.

About the causes of DEP

Dyscirculatory encephalopathic changes often occur due to:

  • Unfavorable environmental conditions.
  • Unbalanced diet.
  • Physical inactivity.
  • Inadequate rest.
  • Disturbed sleep.
  • Inflammatory processes of cerebral vascular tissue.
  • Atherosclerotic changes.
  • Sudden drop in blood pressure.
  • Cirrhotic changes in the liver.
  • Narrowed arterial vessels.

About symptoms

What is DEP? Symptomatic manifestations of this disease are as follows:

  • The first symptom of DEP is characterized by pain in the head, which turns into migraine attacks.
  • The patient is constantly dizzy.
  • A patient with dyscirculatory encephalopathy feels constantly tired.
  • The patient with manifestations of DEP is nervous.
  • He doesn't remember well and his sleep is disturbed.
  • Changes in blood pressure are observed with DEP. It rises sharply and declines sharply.
  • A person hears noise effects in his head.
  • A patient with dyscirculatory encephalopathy has a discomfort in the eyeballs.
  • Facial asymmetry sometimes occurs with DEP.

Another violation is observed with DEP: the patient cannot get into the Romberg position, which consists of bringing the soles together, and still needs to stretch upper limbs and close your eyes.

In some cases, such symptoms go away if the person relaxes and sleeps well. But if the symptoms of DEP are persistent, then the patient requires medical consultation and treatment.

If the patient is not treated, dyscirculatory encephalopathy will progress to the following stages. Complicated conditions will manifest themselves as follows:

  • The patient's memory will deteriorate, he will become absent-minded and weak-minded.
  • Mental instability and emotional instability will appear.
  • The person's limbs will tremble.
  • It will be difficult for him to swallow and chew food.
  • Speech will slow down. The voice will become rough.
  • The patient will cry or laugh for no apparent reason.
  • He will constantly feel dizzy and feel nauseous.
  • Dysfunction will appear digestive tract, excretory system.

About diagnostics

There are several methods for diagnosing dyscirculatory encephalopathy. Many symptoms of dyscirculatory encephalopathy are similar to other pathological processes.

Therefore, to confirm the diagnosis, ophthalmological, endocrinological, cardiological examinations are required, as well as additional diagnostic measures.

Additional diagnostic procedures for dyscirculatory encephalopathy include:

  • Computed tomographic examination.
  • Ultrasound of cerebral vessels.
  • Electroencephalographic examination.
  • Magnetic resonance imaging.
  • Electrocardiographic examination.

Also, during DEP, a blood test is performed for coagulability, fat content, and blood pressure indicators are examined.

About treatment

Treatment of stage 1 DEP consists of several methods prescribed by the attending physician. When carrying out therapeutic measures, take into account:

  • Age category of the patient.
  • Manifesting symptoms.
  • Other pathological processes.

Children are the easiest to treat dyscirculatory encephalopathy. It's connected with fast recovery child, so physiotherapy is often used. Treatment of DEP with medications is often prescribed to adults. It normalizes blood pressure and eliminates symptomatic manifestations.

To treat DEP, it is necessary to use several groups of drugs:

  • Hypotensive. They help lower blood pressure and relieve vascular spasms.
  • Anticholesterol. These drugs lower cholesterol levels in the blood by eliminating build-up caused by cholesterol in the vascular tissue.
  • Venotonic. Allows you to stay in good shape venous vessels, thanks to these means, blood flows out of the cerebral vessels better.
  • Nootropic. Activate the cellular structures of the nervous system (neurons) and the relationships between them.
  • Neuroprotective. Restore and strengthen neurons.
  • Vitamin components of group B. They improve metabolic processes in nerve tissue.
  • Sedatives. Prescribed for irritable patients with unstable emotional background.

How to eat properly if you have DEP

Nutrition dietary products with DEP depends on the manifestation of symptoms:

  • If observed sharp changes Blood pressure, then limit or exclude salt, spices, coffee and tea, chocolate and alcohol.
  • If atherosclerotic changes are detected in DEP, then limit food, rich in cholesterol. To do this, limit the consumption of eggs, butter, and fried potatoes. They also limit lard, sour cream, and fast food products.
  • If encephalopathic changes occur due to vascular disorders, then you need to eat broccoli, cranberries. Also, do not forget about citrus fruits, honey, green tea.

It is recommended that the food be natural, prepared at home. Alcohol in DEP not only negatively affects brain tissue, but also aggravates the existing symptoms. Therefore he is excluded.

How to live correctly with DEP

A patient with DEP requires:

  • Avoid working at night, as symptoms tend to worsen in the evening.
  • Control your work and rest schedule.
  • Give more time to rest. An afternoon nap is allowed.
  • Eliminate exposure to stress factors.
  • Engage in intellectual activity, develop mental abilities.
  • Walk more often, breathe fresh air.
  • Smoking is completely excluded.

About traditional methods of treating DEP

Non-traditional methods of treating dyscirculatory encephalopathy are used only after medical consultation. They may also be contraindicated for the patient, since they have side effects, and therefore can aggravate symptomatic manifestations of DEP. Preparations based on sage, ginkgo biloba, turmeric, Schisandra chinensis, and comb blackberry are often used.

For dyscirculatory encephalopathy, sage oil relieves inflammation, has an antioxidant effect, and has a positive effect on the brain. The dosage per day starts with 20 drops, no more.

If necessary, the dose is increased by the doctor.

Treat with oil for at least 90 days. Then a pause of at least 3 months, during which they are treated with other drugs.

To treat DEP, ginkgo biloba is boiled. They use tea, which contains one teaspoon of ginkgo biloba and a glass of boiled water. Use it after it has been infused for 30 minutes.

Prepare a tincture, which includes 100 g of ginkgo biloba and half a liter of alcohol. The components are mixed and left to steep for 14 days. Take one teaspoon after meals 3 times a day.

The course of treatment for DEP with these drugs is 6 months. Then they pause.

The use of turmeric for DEP has a beneficial effect on cerebral vessels. One teaspoon of turmeric is mixed with a glass warm milk with honey. It should be taken in the morning, when a person has breakfast.

Using Chinese lemongrass for DEP, different recipes are prepared:

  • To prepare the tincture, both leaves and fruits with shoots are used. They must be filled with 60% alcohol with a ratio of 1:5, and sent to a cool and dark room. You need to insist for 10 days. Then you should strain and take 29-30 ml once a day or 2 times a day, but 15 ml.
  • Also, using the fruits, take lemongrass juice. The dosage is 10 g, no more than 2 times a day.
  • The powdered form of Schisandra chinensis is prepared from the stem and the bark is used. For DEP, 2 g per day should be used.
  • Use 100 g of leaves, which are crushed into powder form. They also use a dry type of wine with a volume of no more than half a liter. They insist for 10 days. Use 99-100 ml once a day.
  • Juice is prepared using ripe lemongrass fruits. It should be poured into molds and frozen. To use, defrost and consume one serving of juice.
  • Fruit extract is used for DEP. To do this, mix water with sugar and fruits in equal parts. The mixture should be crushed, then mixed with a blender. Use medium heat to heat, but do not boil. Strain and drink two tablespoons 2 times a day.

Using comb blackberry for discirculatory encephalopathy, prepare a tincture. Take a dried mushroom, which must be filled with vodka in a volume not exceeding 500 ml. Place in a dark room and leave for 14 days.

Separate the sediment from the tincture. The patient drinks one teaspoon before eating. The course of these therapeutic measures is approximately 60 days.

About the forecast

How long can you live with stage 1 DEP? Discirculatory encephalopathy, as a rule, progresses. By taking medications with physiotherapeutic procedures at the early stage of DEP, it is possible to reduce the rate of progression of the pathological process.

A patient with dyscirculatory encephalopathy needs to change his lifestyle. The patient is not entitled to registration of disability. If you perform adequate curative measures, then the patient at this stage can live a long time.

But with this form of DEP, he should be observed by his doctor. It is worth remembering that if the patient does not adhere to a balanced diet and moves little, this will lead to complicated conditions. You should also not self-medicate, and if the condition worsens, you should immediately seek the help of a specialist.

Any brain problem that provokes irreversible changes in it can be fatal for a person. Encephalopathydiscirculatoryapplies to them.

Discirculatoryencephalopathy- Thisa disease in which any part of the brain begins to starve, not receiving its normal amount useful substances and oxygen. This disease causes tissues to swell, lose their functionality and die.Discirculatoryencephalopathy is dangerous. The reasons for its occurrence are a malfunction of blood vessels, both small and large.

The first signs are headaches, weakness, memory loss and depression. Brain changes at this stage can still be reversed if treatment is started in a timely manner. The diagnosis is made not by the local attending physician, but by a neurologist. And before this, the patient will need to undergo a thorough examination. Diagnostics includes:

  • cardiogram;
  • examination of the vascular system of the head and neck;
  • electroencephalography;
  • fundus examination;
  • psychological tests for memory, emotionality and thinking.

Important! Discirculatory cerebral encephalopathy as a diagnosis will be recorded if the changes developed for more than six months with a gradual deterioration in well-being.

The disease is common among the elderly and people over 45 years of age. Knowledge workers are at particular risk because their brains often work at the limit of their capabilities, but without physical activity. The older a person is, the higher the chance that he will be diagnosed with dyscirculatory encephalopathy. This is what leads to senile dementia or . Dyscirculatory encephalopathy is rightly called dangerous, because disability and mortality due to it are the most common around the world.

The disease develops faster if there is:

  • unbalanced diet;
  • overweight;
  • alcohol abuse;
  • smoking;
  • hormonal disbalance;
  • stable, high blood pressure;
  • diabetes;
  • or neck;
  • improper treatment of cervical and spinal diseases.

VBI can be cured because it is a reversible process. This type of deficiency is common. The vertebrobasilar apparatus easily returns to normal if you follow the doctor’s recommendations. But if irreversible processes arise in the VBB due to improper treatment or its absence, the consequences can be dire. The situation is even worse when the entire CVB suffers. The prognosis for such patients is always disappointing.

Stages and degrees of disease development

To function normally, the brain needs constant and good nutrition. All this directly depends on. Any disruption of this system leads to serious problems. And discirculatory cerebral encephalopathy is no exception. The disease begins when the capillaries of some part of the brain do not bring a sufficient volume of blood. This leads to loss of functionality of the vessel wall, which in turn leads to the leakage of various fluids into the brain. Due to swelling, neurons do not receive normal nutrition and die. And this is already a microinfarction of the brain.

The disease strikes the first blow to the subcortical white matter. This means that it will be more difficult for the brain to process signals from the limbs and control them. The next area to be affected is the gray matter, which is why people suffer from . Almost half of the cells in the frontal and temporal lobes die. This leads to the formation of foci of necrosis and death.

Discirculatory encephalopathy has 3 stages, which largely influence the clinical picture, treatment methods and prognosis:

Discirculatoryencephalopathy 1 degree characterized by:

  • mild headaches;
  • lack of vital energy;
  • insomnia;
  • a sharp change in mood from tears to extreme aggression;
  • dizziness;
  • disruptions in hearing, vision and speech;
  • slight numbness in the arms or legs.

At this stage, the brain can still independently regulate situations, and the symptoms of dyscirculatory encephalopathy disappear within a day.

Discirculatoryencephalopathy 2 degrees leads to further deterioration of the patient's condition. The above signs are joined by:

  • in the ears;
  • the intensity of vertigo and headaches increases;
  • constant drowsiness and weakness;
  • memory impairment;
  • inability to perceive speech;
  • complete change of behavioral habits;
  • voice change;
  • lips begin to twitch.

Discirculatoryencephalopathy grade 3 is characterized by an even greater deterioration in health, but the person himself does not even understand what is happening to him. Moral values become unimportant, there is constant irritability and aggression. Vision or hearing decreases or completely disappears. The gait becomes shaky and uncertain. Developing. Without outside help a person cannot even serve himself.

Often the diagnosis of “grade 3 dyscirculatory encephalopathy” raises the question: how long can you live with it? Everything is individual, but such a patient is definitely guaranteed to have a disability. The worst thing is if dyscirculatory encephalopathy of mixed origin is diagnosed. It is more difficult to treat, and the prognosis is often disappointing.

What causes illness?

Diagnostic measures are designed not only to identify the disease, but also to find the cause that provoked it. Any damage to the vascular system contributes to the development of cerebral encephalopathy. Most often this happens due to:

  1. Atherosclerosis, which blocks blood vessels with cholesterol plaques. The lumen is either seriously reduced or completely blocked. Blood does not reach the brain area, which provokes its starvation. Atherosclerotic cause is the most common cause of diagnosis. venous discirculation brain".
  2. Arterial hypertension injures the vessel, which leads to flooding of the brain area with blood or plasma and its swelling.
  3. Hypotension, in which there is a lack of blood in the vessels, and due to its slow movement, the cells starve.
  4. Blood increased viscosity also leads to poor circulation, which provokes the formation of blood clots, which cause necrosis.
  5. Osteochondrosis, in which bone spurs or spasms compress an artery in the spine, resulting in insufficient blood flow to the brain.
  6. Trauma to the brain or spine, which causes hematomas to form. They're pinching vascular system damaged area and lead to a malfunction of brain cells.
  7. Abnormal development of the body's circulatory system.
  8. Tobacco smoking, which provokes cerebral vascular spasms.
  9. Diseases of the circulatory and vascular systems.
  10. Hormonal disbalance. It causes improper production of hormones that are responsible for the normal functioning of the entire body.

Therapy

The first degree of the disease can most often be cured simply by changing your habits and normalizing your diet. But if this is dyscirculatory encephalopathy of degree 2 or 3, then without medications that will restore blood flow in the basilar basin and lead to nerve cells in order, no need to get by.

Medications

Treatment of grade 2-3 dyscirculatory encephalopathy is carried out comprehensively, with a clear medication regimen. The most commonly prescribed drugs are:

  • lowering blood pressure, like Lisinopril, if the cause of the disease is hypertension. They block a certain enzyme that increases blood pressure. The smooth muscles of the blood vessels relax, expanding the lumen, which leads to a decrease in pressure;
  • calcium inhibitors, like Nimodipine. Often, grade 3 discirculatory encephalopathy, like the second, occurs due to its excess. When taking the medicine, vascular tone decreases, they relax and expand the lumen, which provides the brain with the necessary amount of blood. At the initial stage, the drug is prescribed intravenously, and then in tablet form;
  • beta blockers, like Atenolol. It normalizes heart function, lowers blood pressure and pulse rate, which leads to normal blood flow to the brain. In addition, sodium salt and excess water are removed from the body;
  • tablets for protecting and strengthening blood vessels, like Kurantil. It helps to expand capillaries and increase their lumen. The brain begins to receive enough blood without platelets sticking together;
  • diuretics, which reduce blood volumes and reduce blood pressure;
  • blood thinners. A frequently used remedy is Aspirin. Platelets do not stick to it, which is the best prevention thrombosis;
  • lowering blood cholesterol levels, as nicotinic acid, which improves the nutrition of brain cells and blood vessels;
  • to improve memory and thinking. Electrophoresis is usually used for these agents. In addition to their main purpose, they are powerful antioxidants that protect a person from the harm of free radicals. They normalize the connections of nerve cells and the transmission of impulses along them.

Encephalopathy of the second and third degrees is treated with a specially developed drug Vasobral, which not only improves blood flow to the brain, but also restores its functions. It reduces the number of clots and normalizes the metabolic process in cells, which leads to brain resistance to. The risk of swelling at stage 2 is reduced by 74%.

Physiotherapy

How to treat a disease without pills? If this is the initial stage, then you can get by with diet and physical therapy. But if the cause of the disease was chronic and led to the formation of encephalopathy of complex origin, then it is necessary to treat only in tandem, combining pills, diet and physical procedures - the effect on the body physical factors, which provide therapeutic effect. The minimum course for the treatment of cerebral discirculatory encephalopathy is 10 procedures.

Elimination of dyscirculatory encephalopathy is carried out:

  1. Electrosleep, which stimulates brain activity electric shock It has low frequency and strength. Current penetration is carried out through the eyelids. With this procedure, metabolic processes are improved and neural connections between nerve endings are normalized.
  2. Galvanotherapy, which affects the neck and shoulders with a weak current. Decompensation of capillaries is normalized, blood flow into them increases. The procedure is often enhanced with iodine and potassium orotate.
  3. UHF therapy, in which a high-frequency electromagnetic field forms an ion current in the blood. This enhances its movement through small capillaries, enriching the brain with oxygen. Any negative manifestations cephalgic type disappear or decrease.
  4. Laser, which restores the functioning of dysfunctional areas in the cervical-collar area. Nerve cells work better, blood flow increases, the blood thins out, which increases the speed of its movement.
  5. Therapeutic baths, which are oxygen, carbon dioxide and radon. After the first procedure, sleep normalizes, vertigo and tinnitus go away.
  6. Massotherapy, which can be acupuncture, lymphatic drainage and usual in the cervical-collar area. In the first case, the effect is on specific points that normalize brain function. Swelling is well removed by lymphatic drainage type massage, and regular massage relieves spasms that affect the arteries.

ethnoscience

Treatment of dyscirculatory encephalopathy with folk remedies has been used for a long time and gives good results. Symptoms and treatment will be related, but you need to understand that these methods are applicable if dyscirculatory encephalopathy needs prevention. Treatment with folk remedies at a severe stage can be additional to the main therapy. Most often, DEP is treated:

  1. Collections of herbs. They use, for example, the “Crimean Collection”, consisting of rose hips, sweet clover petals, birch leaves, coltsfoot, plantain, licorice, linden flowers, oregano, raspberry and rose hips, all taken in equal proportions. Tea is prepared from a tablespoon of the mixture and a glass of boiling water. The course of treatment is 3 months. A sedative mixture consisting of chamomile, mint, lemon balm, valerian and lemon zest helps well against cerebrovascular encephalopathy. Duration of treatment is from 2 to 3 months.
  2. Caucasian balsam, which is prepared from propolis, Dioscorea caucasica and red clover. The clinic returns to normal already in the second week of admission. The person feels an extraordinary surge of strength.
  3. Hawthorn, which is a powerful stimulant for the heart and blood. It is eaten both raw and used for infusions and decoctions. At the right approach After 7 days of taking it, the headaches go away.

Diet

One of the causes of problems in brain function is obesity. Therefore, the diet must be formulated so that the weight decreases, and then remains at the standard level. You should not use drastic techniques that give quick results. Nutrition should be balanced, but low in calories. You need to give preference to vegetables and fruits, as well as animal proteins. The latter must be of the dietary type. Compliance water balance also important.

Forecast

If vertebrobasilar anomalies lead to the fact that a person cannot work and take care of himself, then he will be assigned a disability. In this case, the stage of the disease must be 2 or 3. The disability group is assigned as follows:

  • 3 group- the disease has stage 2, the patient can self-care, and work activity impossible, help from outsiders is selective;
  • 2nd group- stage of the disease 2-3, limited activity, memory problems, severe neuralgic disturbances, repeated strokes;
  • 1 group- Stage 3, which rapidly progresses, causing disruption in motor functions, blood circulation, and pronounced dementia and aggressiveness.

The prognosis for patients with stage 1-2 with proper treatment is often positive, and they can live for quite a long time. The second stage of the disease can be stopped in development for 5-7 years. If there is no treatment, then disability is guaranteed. The higher the stage, the greater the risk of complications and deterioration in quality of life. At stage 3, the disease progresses quickly, which makes therapy difficult and costly. But it can delay death. Death in this case most often occurs due to heart attacks, ischemic strokes and cardiovascular collapse. If you ignore the doctor’s recommendations, then a new attack of dyscirculatory encephalopathy and its transition to a new stage has an interval of 1.5-2 years. But it’s best to just take care of your health, eat right, and do exercises, which is the best remedy for dyscirculatory encephalopathy.

During this process fatty molecules, proteins and salts accumulate on the walls of arteries and arterioles. As it develops, the number of damaged vessels increases, and multiple small hemorrhages occur in the brain.

A patient diagnosed with DEP suffers from serious neurological disorders and progressive dementia. But you can help him live a fuller and longer life if you carry out competent symptomatic treatment. Good effect therapy with folk remedies provides. It is based on herbs and products that dissolve atherosclerotic plaques, improve cerebral circulation and tissue nutrition. It is also important to monitor the diet and daily routine of the sick person, protect him from stress, and ensure regular mental activity.

Causes

Discirculatory encephalopathy is not an independent disease; it develops with age, as a result of complex pathological processes in the body. Let us list the main causes of DEP:

But still, the most common cause of the disease is advanced vascular atherosclerosis in combination with arterial hypertension. This occurs in patients who do not eat properly, because too fatty foods settle on the blood vessels in the form of cholesterol plaques. Alcohol, excessive exercise, constant lack of sleep and stress can also play a role.

Symptoms, stages and types of disease

With discirculatory encephalopathy, blood circulation in the vessels of the brain is disrupted and develops oxygen starvation, so symptoms will be observed both neurologically and psychological side, as well as from other organs and systems.

In the early stages, signs of the disease are nonspecific, which complicates diagnosis. The patient complains of constant fatigue, fatigue, Bad mood, inability to concentrate on completing tasks. Depression and apathy may develop, as well as excessive irritability when exposed to bright light, noise, etc.

There are 3 stages of DE.

Discirculatory encephalopathy of the 1st degree is characterized by easy changes in the brain, so its symptoms are easily confused with general fatigue, old age, and depression. Patients complain of headaches, absent-mindedness, dizziness, and forgetfulness, but after rest everything goes away. During a visual examination, notice gas movement disorders, facial asymmetry, and reflex disturbances. However, such signs do not always appear. The diagnosis can only be made after an MRI of the brain.

Discirculatory encephalopathy of the 2nd degree is similar in its clinical appearance to the first degree, but the symptoms in this case progress. Due to more severe brain damage, frequent transient ischemic attacks, micro-strokes, etc. occur. The patient has impaired coordination of movement, spasms and partial paralysis of the limbs occur, and reflexes do not appear correctly. Stage 2 dyscirculatory encephalopathy leads to dilation of the veins and narrowing of the arteries of the fundus.

  • periodic flashes of light before the eyes;
  • tremor (shaking hands and head);
  • speech impairment (slurred pronunciation of words, inability to remember simple words);
  • poor facial expressions;
  • difficulty swallowing;
  • tearfulness.

Sometimes grade 2 encephalopathy is manifested by seizures.

Discirculatory encephalopathy of the 3rd degree is accompanied by progressive neurological syndromes (amyostatic, dyscirculatory, pyramidal, pseudobulbar, etc.). As a result of severe brain damage, the patient begins to have epileptiform seizures. Other symptoms are severe headache, problems with coordination of movement, shuffling gait, memory problems, tinnitus, insomnia, sensory impairment (hearing, vision, smell), nausea, sweating. IN severe cases urinary and fecal incontinence develops. Dementia (dementia) progresses, while the patient often rejects his intellectual problems and considers himself healthy.

Types of discirculatory encephalotherapy:

  • venous (damage to the veins inside and outside the skull);
  • atherosclerotic (prevail atherosclerotic lesions small vessels);
  • hypertensive (damage to arterioles due to arterial hypertension);
  • mixed.

These forms are slightly different in their clinical picture and a group of patients. Thus, the symptoms of hypertensive encephalopathy are most often observed in young people (this is a state of euphoria, disinhibition, increased sensitivity to noise and light). Venous encephalopathy affects older patients and is manifested by dizziness, weakness, and problems sleeping.

Treatment

The disease cannot be completely cured (since the ischemic areas of the brain are not restored), but it is possible to stop its development, reduce or eliminate symptoms, and improve the quality of life. Treatment with folk remedies, proper nutrition, a reasonable daily routine and lifestyle will help you with this. It is also recommended to undergo periodic Spa treatment(especially if you have already developed dyscirculatory encephalopathy grade 2 or grade 3), where you will be offered physiotherapy (underwater and regular massage, electric sleep, baths, myostimulation, microcurrents, etc.).

How long should treatment last? Throughout life, courses of 2-3 months every six months. You can not stop the course, but simply use different folk remedies, that is, change plants.

Diet

The diet is compiled based on what type of dyscirculatory encephalopathy is found in the patient. Yes, when hypertensive type it is necessary to eliminate foods that increase blood pressure (salt, spices, coffee, tea, chocolate, alcohol); in case of atherosclerosis, foods containing large amounts of cholesterol (eggs, butter, fried potatoes, lard, sour cream, fatty cheeses, fast food) . For the venous variety, eat foods that tonic and protect the walls of the arteries - broccoli, lettuce, cranberries, all types of citrus fruits, green tea, asparagus, spinach, honey.

In general, nutrition should be based on natural products; it is better to cook food at home. Completely eliminate alcohol from your diet - it accelerates the progression of dementia, negatively affects brain function, and worsens symptoms. You can only drink dry natural wine (but not as much as your heart desires, and no more than 200 ml per day).

Lifestyle

Patients diagnosed with dyscirculatory encephalopathy are contraindicated to work night shifts, as symptoms usually worsen in the afternoon. It is advisable to adhere to a clear daily routine. If possible, go to bed for lunch.

It is recommended to avoid stress and anxiety. To maintain brain activity, read fiction, solve crosswords, riddles, puzzles, watch science films, take up a hobby. A change of environment has a good effect on your state of mind - sometimes go on trips (even to a neighboring city or to nature, just to change the environment).

Folk remedies

Now let’s describe how to carry out the treatment of this disease folk remedies.

Sage

This plant has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. IN comparative studies with placebo, it was found that people taking essential oil sage every day improved their mental abilities much more than people who took a well-known pharmaceutical drug used for Alzheimer's disease.

How much oil should you take per day? It is better to start with a dosage of 20 drops, and then increase the amount of product to 60 drops. Treatment lasts 3 months, after which you need to take a break for at least 3 months. During the break, you can use other folk remedies.

Ginkgo biloba

This better plants for treatment early stages discular encephalopathy. Gingko biloba is used to make expensive pharmaceutical medicines; it will be cheaper to prepare infusions and decoctions yourself. You just need to get the leaves of this exotic tree.

Three times a day, brew tea from a teaspoon of gingko biloba and a glass of boiling water. You can drink the drink after 30 minutes (let it brew).

You can also make an alcohol tincture of the leaves (at the rate of 100 g of plant per 500 ml of alcohol with a strength of 60 degrees), leave for 14 days and drink a teaspoon after meals.

How long should the plant be taken? Research shows that improvements in memory and concentration can be expected after about 6 months, which is exactly how long the course should last, then take a break for six months. During the break, take other herbs that improve brain activity.

Turmeric

The spice, which is a standard component in Indian curry, has the properties of restoring the nutrition of blood vessels in the brain. One study conducted at the University of California, Los Angeles found that turmeric also stimulates the removal of beta-amyloid deposits from the brain.

How to treat with turmeric? Add a teaspoon of this spice to a glass of warm milk with honey and drink this mix every morning with breakfast. Additionally, use other folk remedies.

Chinese lemongrass

This plant has a strong nootropic effect (that is, it improves brain activity). There are several recipes for its use.

  1. Tincture. You can use shoots, leaves or fruits of lemongrass. Grind the raw materials, pour 50-60% alcohol in a ratio of 1:5 and leave for 10 days, then strain. Take 15 ml 2 times a day or 30 ml 1 time a day.
  2. Fruit powder. Dry Chinese lemongrass fruit, grind into powder and take 10 g 1-2 times a day.
  3. Powder from dry stems or bark. Take 1-2 g 1-2 times a day.
  4. Wine tincture. Grind 100 g of leaves into powder, add dry wine and leave for 10 days. Take 100 ml per day for 1-2 weeks. Repeat treatment every 2-3 months.
  5. Juice. Extract the juice from ripe lemongrass fruits and freeze in portioned ice trays. Then defrost one cube every morning and drink it. Dosage – 2 times a day. How long should the juice treatment last? You will notice the effect after 1-2 weeks of regular use.
  6. Extract from fresh fruits. Crush fresh fruit with water and sugar (take all ingredients in equal proportions), and then mix with a blender. Heat the resulting mass to a boil, strain. Drink 30 ml (2 tablespoons) 2 times a day. How long should treatment last? From 1 to 3 weeks, depending on the severity of the disease, then there is a break for 2 months. During a break, use other folk remedies.

Common barnacle

This edible mushroom stimulates growth and recovery nerve endings, so it will be very useful for patients with dyscirculatory encephalopathy.

It is best to prepare an alcohol tincture from of this product. For half a liter of vodka you will need 35 g of dried crushed mushrooms. Keep the mixture in a dark place for 2 weeks, then pour the vodka into a bottle, being careful not to let any sediment get into it. Take a teaspoon before each meal, treatment should last 2 months.

If you are allergic to alcohol, prepare a water decoction at the rate of 2-3 g of dry barnacle per half liter hot water. Leave the mixture for an hour, drink 1/3 cup before each meal. The infusion can be stored in the refrigerator for several days.

Also use other folk remedies that improve brain activity - eat more nuts, seeds, sea fish, spinach, take an alcohol tincture of eleutherococcus or ginseng, drink mistletoe tea.

How to treat encephalopathy with folk remedies

Treatment of encephalopathy with folk remedies

Encephalopathy - treatment of encephalopathy with folk remedies and methods

Good day, dear guests and readers of the medical blog Narmedblog.ru. Today I want to tell you about the treatment of encephalopathy with folk remedies, since many older people have this disease.

Causes of encephalopathy

● Discirculatory encephalopathy is a pathological process in the brain, accompanied by impaired cerebral circulation. The disease most often occurs against the background of atherosclerosis. Formed cholesterol plaques lead to disruption of the nutrition of nerve cells with subsequent ischemic atrophy of nervous tissue.

● For encephalopathy in blood arteries Small aneurysms are formed that can rupture a vessel with any jump in blood pressure. It is also possible to develop venous encephalopathy due to chronic disorder venous outflow of blood from the cranial cavity. Venous congestion forms in the substance of the brain with chronic edema, leading to lethargy, dizziness, dull headaches, aggravated by sneezing and coughing.

● The development of encephalopathy can also be promoted by osteochondrosis of the cervical spine, skull trauma, diabetes mellitus, alcohol, smoking, stress and overweight body (obesity). All of the above diseases and constriction of cerebral vessels cause pathological changes vascular walls, leading to disruption of the regulation of cerebral circulation.

Symptoms of dyscirculatory encephalopathy

● Doctors distinguish three stages of encephalopathy. The first stage, or “calling card” of the disease, is expressed in the presence of headache, dizziness, noise in the head of varying intensity, tearfulness, decreased attention and memory, increased fatigue, unsteady walking, and sleep disturbances.

● In the second stage of encephalopathy, all of the above symptoms intensify, especially in relation to memory, which decreases at a progressive rate. The patient perfectly remembers the details of what happened to him a year ago, but for the life of him he cannot remember what happened about twenty minutes ago.

● Final – the third stage is the most difficult, it most often ends in dementia.

Treatment of encephalopathy - diet and physical education

● Strenuous physical activity and proper nutrition are the basis for the prevention and treatment of encephalopathy. For people suffering from this disease, the Mediterranean diet is considered the best: throughout the year, as much fresh fruits and vegetables as possible. The diet should consist of corn, rye, oats, brown or brown rice, seafood, dairy products, yogurt and low-fat cheeses.

● Turkish peas are very useful: they contain vitamin B-12, which helps stabilize the membranes of brain cells. Hazelnuts also have anti-carcinogenic properties. A brain diet has been shown to improve memory: eat a plate of grated carrots every day. vegetable oil, a glass of pineapple juice and half an avocado.

● Improves concentration shrimp (100 g) plus half a head onions. The hottest pepper maintains mental balance. Figs, cumin (2 teaspoons of seeds per glass of tea), bananas and strawberries will extinguish negative emotions.

● Mandatory for the treatment of encephalopathy are: running or brisk walking (30-40 minutes), morning exercises.

Conservative treatment of encephalopathy

Attention: only a doctor can establish a diagnosis and prescribe treatment. All recommendations given below can be applied only after consultation with your doctor.

Complex treatment encephalopathy includes taking medications, herbal medicine, proper diet and physical therapy. Drug treatment is aimed at the cause of the disease. This applies, as noted above, to arterial hypertension, atherosclerosis, etc.

● To normalize lipid metabolism, ovencor, methionine, lipamide, polyunsaturated fatty acids, phytin, essentiale, cetamifene, tribusponin, polysponin, miscleron are prescribed. To lower blood pressure - antihypertensive drugs: arifon, capoten, atenolol, prestarium, clonidine, enap, indap, enalapril.

● When venous insufficiency– redergin, aminophylline, troxevasin, pentoxifylline. To prevent microthrombosis and improve microcirculation - disaggregants: ticlid, anturan, sermion, trental, thrombo ass, aspirin in small doses, chimes.

● Vasoactive drugs are prescribed to prevent vasospasms and improve cerebral blood flow: sermion, instenon, vasobral, no-spa, flunarizine, nifedipine, cavinton, stugeron, vincamine, cinnarizine, complamin.

● In addition, treatment of encephalopathy includes therapy with nootropics and antidepressants: ginkgo biloba, nootropil, encephabol, piracetam, phenibut, cerebrolysin.

● The listed medications are selected by the attending physician in each specific case.

Traditional methods of treating encephalopathy

● Collection of herbs for the treatment of encephalopathy. Grind and mix equal parts of flowers and leaves of meadowsweet or meadowsweet, wild strawberry leaves. Pour one tablespoon of the mixture into a glass of boiling water and leave for 2-3 hours, strain. Drink ½ glass of infusion twice or thrice a day.

● This recipe is for cleaning brain vessels, preventing dizziness and noise in the head, and improving cerebral circulation. The recipe consists of three tinctures:

First tincture: pour half a liter of vodka with 100 grams of clover, leave in a dark place to infuse for two weeks;

Second tincture: pour 50 grams of Caucasian Dioscorea roots into half a liter of vodka for 14 days;

● third tincture: place 100 grams of propolis in a dark glass bottle and pour a liter of vodka for 10 days.

● When the tinctures are ready, strain them and mix all three in equal proportions. Drink one teaspoon half an hour before meals three times a day, diluting it in 50 ml. boiled water. The duration of treatment is two months; after a two-week break, continue treatment.

● To get rid of noise in your head, prepare this recipe. Pour two tbsp. l. clover 300 ml. boiling water in a thermos and leave for two hours. Drink 100 ml with honey three times a day half an hour before meals.

● And finally, a prescription for those patients who have increased excitability and insomnia. Grind and mix 30 grams of motherwort herb and peppermint leaves, 20 grams of valerian roots and hop cones. Pour one tablespoon of the mixture into 1.5 cups of boiling water and place in a water bath for 15 minutes. Let cool, strain and add boiled water to the original volume of liquid. Drink half a glass 3 times a day, regardless of meals.

Take care of yourself, get well, and may the Lord God help you in this.

Is treatment with folk remedies acceptable for a diagnosis of dyscirculatory encephalopathy? The disease dyscirculatory encephalopathy occurs in old age due to insufficient cerebral blood supply and is not considered an independent pathology. This term arose in Russia not so long ago and is not included in the international classification of diseases.

Causes of dyscirculatory encephalopathy

Any illness has causes that contribute to the development of pathology.

Dyscirculatory encephalopathy or DE (DEP) occurs for a number of reasons:

  1. Vegetative-vascular dystonia.
  2. Arterial hypertension.
  3. Atherosclerosis of the vessels of the head.
  4. Congestion in the blood arteries.
  5. Joint diseases.
  6. High cholesterol and triglycerides.
  7. Excess weight.
  8. Heredity.
  9. Taking oral contraceptives.

Against the background of the progressive development of brain pathologies, deviations occur that can lead to oxygen starvation, stroke and mental disorders.

The course of the disease is aggravated by alcohol intake, tobacco products, fatty and spicy foods, in a sedentary manner life.

The first symptoms include:

  • fast fatiguability;
  • feeling of complete powerlessness, weakness;
  • frequent irritability;
  • it is difficult for the patient to concentrate and do one thing for a long time;
  • frequent depression;
  • immunity to sharp sounds and smells.

If the disease is not treated, then dysfunction of the nervous system is formed, and a number of the following conditions are also present:

  • recurrent headaches;
  • dizziness;
  • nervous tension becomes constant;
  • insomnia occurs;
  • constant attacks of nausea;
  • there is noise in the ears from time to time;
  • forgetfulness occurs;
  • lack of motivation.

How to diagnose the disease

If you are bothered by the above symptoms, it is recommended to undergo a clinical examination of the brain. A CT scan of the head will help identify this pathology.

DE proceeds in 3 stages:

  1. At the beginning of the disease, the patient does not attach importance to a number of symptoms, attributing them to physical and psychological stress. The person's performance begins to decline, nervous system unstable to external stimuli, depression is observed, the patient quickly gets tired. Periodic headaches, dizziness and forgetfulness disappear after a night's sleep. Experienced doctor can recognize the disease at the beginning of its development, paying attention to the asymmetry of the face, the difference in reflexes in symmetrical areas of the body.
  2. At the 2nd stage of the disease, symptoms persist, but become more pronounced. Partial memory loss occurs and a slight lack of coordination of movement may occur. There are symptoms of ischemic brain disorders. In the fundus there is a narrowing of the lumen of the arteries or the veins are slightly dilated.
  3. If treatment for discirculatory encephalopathy is not carried out, then the disease moves to the third stage, at which psychological abnormalities begin to develop.

The third stage is characterized by the following symptoms:

  • neurological disorders;
  • regular headache;
  • memory impairment;
  • loss of professional skills;
  • epileptiform seizures;
  • coordination of movements suffers.

The development of DE can lead to disability resulting from diseases concomitant with encephalopathy. Persistent disability may develop; the patient is not recommended for neuropsychic and physical stress.

Our grandmothers' means

Treatment with folk remedies for discirculatory encephalopathy can significantly alleviate the patient’s condition.

Even with such a terrible diagnosis, you can live and enjoy every day. We must not forget that folk remedies, do not guarantee the patient’s complete recovery, so taking medications should not be ignored.

Dyscirculatory encephalopathy of the brain, treatment

The vast majority of older people complain of frequent headaches, forgetfulness and insomnia. They attribute this condition to their age, although the real reason not this, but a violation of cerebral circulation.

This pathology is called discirculatory encephalopathy of the brain (DEGM). A number of concomitant diseases contribute to the development of the disease.

First of all, this is atherosclerosis of cerebral vessels, which arose against the background of a violation of fat (cholesterol) metabolism, vegetative-vascular dystonia, accompanied by sharp jumps in blood pressure, atrial fibrillation, diseases of the endocrine system, diabetes, etc.

Mechanism of development of dyscirculatory encephalopathy of the brain

Pathological changes in blood vessels lead to impaired blood flow. The diameter of one or more cerebral arteries decreases in varying degrees, and thereby the nutrition of cells deteriorates.

Subsequently, oxygen starvation (hypoxia) occurs in certain areas of the brain, which progresses and leads to irreversible consequences.

Discirculatory encephalopathy, as a rule, unlike stroke, progresses slowly. Moreover, the diagnosis is not made immediately, but after dispensary observation patient for 3-6 months.

In medicine, there are three stages of the disease, each of which is characterized by less or more serious condition sick.

Symptoms of the disease

At the first stage (first stage), emotional disorders appear, which are expressed by changes in mood for the worse, periodic headaches and fatigue.

Soon the patient's memory deteriorates noticeably, and in a very peculiar way. He remembers vividly the events that happened to him years ago, but he completely forgot what happened yesterday.

The second stage is much more alarming. Memory loss in combination with headaches becomes permanent, coordination of movements is impaired, sleep disappears, and speech becomes slow.

The patient is afraid of getting lost and refuses to leave the house; he begins to lose interest in life.

The third stage of dyscirculatory encephalopathy of the brain can be compared to a bolt from the blue. Due to damage to one of the lobes of the brain, hearing, coordination of movements, vision, etc. are impaired.

Prevention and treatment of DEHM

A patient with dyscirculatory encephalopathy should change his lifestyle. This applies to physical activity, sleep, and nutrition. You need to donate blood regularly to determine your cholesterol levels.

The most terrible doctor of blood vessels - high cholesterol. It settles on the walls of the arteries, narrows and reduces their elasticity.

A special product will help you reduce weight and cholesterol levels low calorie diet with a limited amount of animal fat.

Harmful to blood vessels following products food: fried meat, eggs, lard, mayonnaise, smoked products, margarine, etc. They need to be replaced with more light food y.

Light foods include various cereals, fruits and vegetables, boiled poultry, kefir, lean fish, fresh herbs: celery, parsley, basil, spinach, etc.

The listed light foods contain sufficient amounts of vitamins and such vital important microelements, like magnesium and selenium, which improve blood circulation and strengthen the walls of blood vessels.

It is not advisable to overuse white bread and sweet products. It is also recommended to replace butter with any vegetable oil: flaxseed, sunflower, corn or olive.

Freshly squeezed vegetables and fruit juices, decoctions of medicinal herbs and fruit drinks. Alcoholic drinks are strictly prohibited for patients of this category of diseases.

An active lifestyle improves blood circulation, this includes household chores, daily hiking in nature at least 5-7 kilometers. You must go to bed no later than 10 pm, having first ventilated the bedroom.

Sitting in front of a computer or TV for long periods of time worsens general state not only a sick person, but also a healthy person.

If you have trouble sleeping, make yourself so-called “sleepy” pillows, which are bags made of soft fabric of different sizes and shapes, filled with medicinal plants with calming properties.

The composition of the pillows may contain hop cones, pine needles, peppermint, lavender, sage, etc. You need to choose a composition for yourself that does not cause irritation.

Conservative treatment of DEHM

For high blood pressure, the attending physician prescribes lozap, enalapril, nifedipine strictly individually, taking into account the blood pressure level.

To reduce the level of “bad” cholesterol, the patient is prescribed probucol (0.5 g twice a day) or lovastatin (20-40 mg once a day during dinner). It is recommended to take these drugs for 3 or more months.

In order to improve blood microcirculation in the vessels of the brain, chimes (2-3 times a day, 25 mg), cardiomagnyl (1 dose of pomg), thrombo ACC (1 r/day of pomg) are prescribed. Patients take medications for a long time and even for life.

To improve cerebral circulation, which occurs with dyscirculatory encephalopathy, the attending physician recommends taking Cavinton (3 times a day, 5 mg in a course of 4-6 weeks), Bilobil, Tanakan (2-3 times a day, 40 mg for 1 week). 3 months).

Nootropil and piracetam help improve cerebral blood flow and thereby improve mental performance.

Physiotherapeutic procedures: therapeutic exercises, UHF on the vessels of the cervical region, hirudotherapy, massage, electrosleep and laser therapy.

Physiotherapy

1. Unsharp turns of the head (right-left), while the chin is in an absolutely horizontal plane.

2. Rotational movements of the head (clockwise, then counterclockwise), the neck muscles are relaxed.

3. Smooth tilts of the head, first back and forth, then left and right. When bending, we inhale, exhale when returning to the starting position.

We do each of these exercises 7-10 times and repeat the complex in the morning, lunch and evening.

Massage of the head (hairy part), neck and rubbing of the earlobes is useful.

Treatment with traditional medicine

The listed plants improve blood supply to the brain and memory, relieve noise in the head, and ensure normal sleep.

It will take quite a long time to be treated with herbs, but it is worth it - the result is always positive.

An analogue is sold in the pharmacy alcohol tincture red clover - atheroclephitis. And if you decide to prepare this tincture yourself at home, collect the heads of clover flowers in sunny, dry weather, fill a glass jar up to the shoulders and fill it to the top with high-quality vodka.

You need to insist in the dark, then filter and give the patient 1 tsp. 3 times a day You can add tea or take a sip of water.

This remedy has been used by folk healers for a long time, since it effectively prevents thrombosis, fights angina attacks and atherosclerosis, reduces cholesterol in the blood, cleanses blood vessels fundus.

Cranberry is no less effective: grind its fruits in a meat grinder and mix with natural honey in a ratio of 2:1 and take a tablespoon three or four times a day. Your brain blood supply, immunity and memory will improve.

A decoction of crushed hawthorn fruits has magical properties: it improves the functioning of the heart muscle and reduces capillary permeability.

2 tbsp. l. dry fruits, pour 500 ml of hot water, simmer for ten minutes over low heat, leave for two hours (it’s better to leave overnight). After filtering, add 2 tbsp. l. natural honey and drink it in three or four doses a day.

For patients suffering from insomnia, the following recipe is useful.

We take valerian roots, peppermint and motherwort herbs, and hop cones in equal parts by weight.

First pour a tablespoon of the mixture with a glass of boiling water, then keep it in a water bath for 10 minutes and leave to infuse for one hour. After straining the broth, take half a glass of it before bed.

Be healthy, God bless you!

Traditional methods of treating dyscirculatory encephalopathy

As a result of gradually progressive changes in brain tissue, discirculatory encephalopathy develops, treatment of which with folk remedies helps to successfully cope with the disease.

Minor morphological changes in the vessels appear on initial stages pathological process. In a later period, anemia or hyperemia of the brain is detected, accompanied by structural disorders in the affected organ. At stage 1 of the disease, the patient remains functional. Under the influence of infections and mental trauma clinical manifestations become more severe, atherosclerosis and hypertension develop. The speed of cerebral blood flow in sick people over 70 years of age decreases by 30%.

Methods for treating brain tissue damage

During the therapy, the main attention is paid to increasing the body's defenses.

Traditional methods of treatment are aimed at restoring blood circulation in the brain tissue. Vascular spasms and vasomotor pain are reduced with the help of folk remedies from the following medicinal plants:
